The scaling is the grind. Where is the fun of trying 2 nodes only to be wiped out and out of health packs. 2 hours to go in this round and I wanted to grind but a sad level 180 dark avengers stunned me then devoured me. Ok so I'll just farm hammer. Nope. None of mt colors came up and three grenades blew up in my face. Yep. Fun time.

If it were all people who had newbie level rosters then I would be sailing through this event (and previous events) like a breeze.

Venom, Moonstone, and Lieutenant dude owns me... Repeatedly. I can't even finish a single node in Sudan and my non-goons in almost ALL of the nodes are all triple my own level if not more and I don't have either the sheer power or stun lock capacity to grind them down without taking serious damage just from matches alone.

I either get lucky with a better board that lets me make some needed matches or get owned - even with buffed characters.

I'm really not happy with the scaling right now.

Top 100 and top 200 finishes. Even though I was free I picked going to the gym over 2 hours of grinding lol.

Event is nearing the finish line. Looking forward to the end even though I love the ISO and HP.

Well alllllrighty then! Two heroic tokens from the last subs - one was a green Punisher, the other was a purple MagsNow. Both were absolutely needed, and made me happy.

Turns out that doing 1 refresh cycle + randomly grinding the main missions is more than enough for top 1k.

Managed to get top 4 in both subs somehow. Had less than 50 points above #5 in each and finished the last fight with about 30 seconds to go.

Try 2* Thor (3/5/5), mStorm (5/5/3) and oBW (3/5/5) if you have them. Even if with lower levels/non-ideal covers, the enemies can't kill you if they never take a turn. (particularly true in desert enviroments). I only have 1 yellow thor cover, but I can still take down full 230 villain teams as long as it's a desert and I have 20 minutes to spare.

Ice has said they've put in Heroic tokens right now because too many people are having issues with the special token rewards.
So basically to save all the fuss of copious people sending in a ticket they've changed them to heroic's [until they get it fixed].

I hope they don't decide to just keep it on heroic's though, that would be kinda lame

No kidding. Hulk tokens were a godsend to me, I got 3 oBWs and a Thor from them.

... Dang, this means I should really try to finish in the top 200. I think I'll have to choose between higher sub placement vs. higher main placement. I should probably go for higher main placement (i.e. grind more refreshes), since there's only a 50 HP diff between Top 100 and Top 600 in subs.

And... still nothing from the Heroic tokens today /sigh

And good grief, people are manic over a extra heroic pull I've never seen so much last second fighting in the subs I was in for the top 4.

Good. Let them fight lvl 230 mobs for scraps of points. All of the cool kids were clearing thousands of points from the lvl 45 wimps in the main bracket nodes.

except for the 4-sub day, when i started earlier

Opening the subs so late means people haven't earned many points in them before the end. You're better off joining earlier if you want a sub-event with a higher score, and then rubber-banding to near the top (had missions worth 3.5k and multiplier still wasn't maxed out). I think the top of my brackets had about 10k and 16-17k by the end and I was probably about 1-2k behind the top with 1 clear.

ps. I'm currently #6, thanks mostly to grinding those level 45 enemies on the main map every time I saw they were up on the main map. Unfortunately the new enemies on main map are level 230 now along with every other enemy so hopefully I've got enough points not to require grinding main map.

Ah, I thought i had read that rubberbanding was based on the main, not the subs this time

Subs rubberband to the global sub leader though: I think my subs that just finished also were at about ~10k/~15k, so I feel like something else must be going on in gamars case.

I haven't even been trying this time around. I missed two full subs on the weekend. With all the others, I do a full pass once, with the high point Panther missions done a few times. I've got the easy 1K main bracket missions down to the low hundreds a few times.

I'm currently in the top 4000 with just less than 123K points, and I'm totally happy with that. I might push to two Thor covers before the end but I doubt it.
