We are almost always in the top 100. Which is fine, considering what you want most is that third cover.
We have been top 50 in some sub-events.
I am thinking DD is wrong about the Psylocke cover as she has always been one of my least covered and I was happy to get her third...0 -

Yeah, I'm hearing different things about managing pve scaling, but it's too "black-box" for me to know if I'm doing anything to any effect
Certainly community scaling is having a big part to play in this. But I'm sending some C and D teams to die every now and then in PVE... I'm trying to complete the level without healing and leaving some damage to the team (sometimes that happens on its own)... Or maybe not grinding too close to the #1 rank. My enemies are already mid to upper 200s so I can't tell if I'm actually doing anything productive with my "techniques". All my voodoo is good for is to sometimes bring Tonzil's in-game keyboard back to life.

Also worth throwing out there Milkrain.
I have sold at least 4 Red X-Force covers...
That makes me sad every time.
Can't seem to get a Yellow, but Red all the time (from PVP/PVE).
Even worse, I am going to be selling another Green and Red X-force in the next few days. 1 from Hollow Point and 1 from the Hunt...
Likely some of the reasons MPQ hates me...0 -

For PvP events I usually finish top 20. Once I tried for 1st but someone stole it away in the last minute.
As much as I'd love some X-force or IW I just don't have the nerves to fight for #1.0 -

Actually, I've been doing it like this for a while. I started because I thought scaling was dependent on roster, before it became a bit clearer, so I didn't want to level anyone over 75. As scaling became clearer, I started leveling up a "Varsity" team - four 2*s plus the 3*s that could reach that level (6 of them at the time) - together, to keep flexibility options open. That group gradually expanded, plus I added Classic Storm, and now it's 12 of the 3*s as I've gotten more covers. I've kept with it because I like it, it gives me a very flexible roster, I literally never have an event where I don't have good personnel leveled up for it, and it satisfies my ocd impulses.

It never hurts me in PVE, which I generally prefer to PVP anyway. And it's fun watching people react to it like it's the weirdest thing they've ever seen.0 -

Love it. And I hear that. That's the basic reason people look and say, I hve a weird/unbalnced roster. General rule of thumb, I am usually sitting on anywhere between 30 and 50K iso. Go into an event and level the covers as necessary. For example, in the last event, where we had nerfed rosters, I was able to just dump (and yes it ws dumping as in throwing away) a bunch of ISO to kick Bag Man (unfortunately not in the teeth) up to level 55 - where I figured he started becoming somewhat useful in PVE goon fights.0 -

3 by 3 numbers. The levels of the Baddies in my highest node... Very scary and sad at the same time...

Your logic is solid. I was doing something similar early on. But then I found the forum and read what people were saying regarding 2* - 3* transition.
I never said I didn't like your roster. And I can totally understand ocd tendencies. My own are more to do with cleanliness and tidiness. It doesn't take much for my hands to feel dirty and I wash them quite a few times a day.
I can also imagine that you have the freedom to try out a lot of crazy team compositions.0 -
Hey Tonzil are you going to pass that Heckle guy or settle in for 2nd?
My X-Force is maxed in Green so I'm not eyeing that extra cover and I don't intend to push to bridge the gap to you pair, but it sounds like my scaling is ~100 levels lower than yours (Florida:Ares ~250) so I guess I might have an easier time in rnd4 ... OTOH you have a functional Spidey, which I do not.
If it gets close and you're chasing the cover I don't mind holding back (provided we're set over in the Alliances).
PS: your Patch needs a few more levels...

Yeah, I intended on catching him. He is what about 500 points ahead of me... I think he has a MUCH esier time than me though.
Did you look at his roster? His highest level is 71. I dont get how he can have survived this far. I guess his scaling is non-existent. Or he is [insert C word here].
Either way, I don't care for the Green X-Force. Tomorrow's daily reward for me is a Green X-Force cover. Which puts my X-Force at 5/5/1. If I collect that cover it is straight to a 1K iso.
If you need it, come on up. I can scale back on node grinding. I can even skip an event if you like.

Will be glad to let you have him. You have the nodes to grind to catch up the gap? It's about 7500 points.

Nah, my X-Force is 5/1/2 so he's 1000 ISO for me as well - no need to hold back on my account. In all honesty I probably can't make up that gap without devoting extra grind time (& royally pissing my wife off). I'd like to make it up to the other token in the progression rewards, but I'm feeling that might be out of reach.
My guess is that his scaling hasn't hit too bad yet; he's got cStorm/MNMags at decent levels and the 3 required characters, so he's probably just grinding away.0 -

With the scaling and the way people have basically dropped out of every sub-event... I wouldn't count on it. No offense. I dont even think I am going to get there. I'll be surprised to hit 110K+ truth be told.
There really is no point to this event. Except for 1 theory, and being in the "Church of Patches", I think you can get it. So here goes, "Tonzil's MPQ theory"... Everyone gather around for this not so secret - secret.

Imagine, everyone wants him, and NOBODY wants to do this 10 day thing again. What's the Psychological threshold, 7 days? But if the reward is really worth it... People will burn out to get it.
Right now, most people (like me) want 3 (or 2) falcon covers because we are severely OCD! Will the cover be worth the 10 days of my life that I spent beating out 395+ baddies? No way. Is it absolutely necessary for me to get it - other than to satisfy my crazy OCD'ness? No. But, OCD being OCD...0 -
I still see PVEs as ISO first, covers second. The covers are nice - and I put some effort into getting them - but I think I'll end up having gotten somewhere in the neighborhood of 100k ISO at least over the course of this event (admittedly, that's from all sources). In the last two-and-a-bit days, I leveled up LazyThor from 64th to 77th, GSBW from 53rd to 77th, and brought a few more people from 84th to 85th, and that cost about 40+k between them. And I don't let ISO build up.0

You see, I can't seem to let myself level up GSBW... Dont know why.
But the tendencies indicate, they give us the covers for the next event. So, GSBW event is leading into a Lazy Thor event... I have been sneaking him some levels here and there...
I have another tick... Must go up in increments of 5! Unless they cap out (Daken Max 69) or reach a softcap; 81 for example, well that cover will sit there at 80... Forever if necessary.0 -

This morning I calculated I'd need 10,000 in each of the remaining subs in order to reach it, which I figured was probably too much the way things are going - certainly not going to kill myself over it.
Lazy Daken ... I am soooo not looking forward to his release. I'm already seeing far too many Dakii in PvP and of course the endless PvE, so it's hard to be excited about a new version being everywhere. TBH, I think they may still be balancing him which is why he hasn't come out yet, because IceIX said the "Lazies" were done as a batch but we've now got Falcon coming instead.
edit: also do my leveling in batches of 5 - concentrating on my main guys, but if it's an unexciting "Featured" (like GSBW) then I'll give them 5levels for the event and then put them back on the shelf.0 -

So, how do you feel about 141? Will you forever have a bunch of 140s?
Nope, will cap the caps. Just wont cap the 'soft caps' unless they cap at an equivalent of 5. The only exception in my roster is Loki. He has been driving me mad for months. No covers, and an ugly 18 soft cap... Every time I look at him, I want to drop HP and buy a cover... And level him to 20/25...
I think he is the reason for my madness... Always playing tricks on me he is.0 -

One guy only levels heroes to 85 and multiple people only level 5 levels at a time.
I know a girl who can only stop reading a book if the page number is a multiple of 5.

I think Tonzil has demonstrated he's quite capable without my approval - perhaps I've been holding him back. In fact, if you skipped a node, it might give me a chance to catch up to you finally... oh, there's Kamu, and AgCenturion, and Ben Grimm... argh!
