I like Thanos as a guess for the Infinity Gauntlet connection. Mandarin also has a multitude of powers to correspond with the colored tiles, but I have a hard time imagining him ever being a playable character.

Are there any Spider characters we don't have yet? They seem really popular these days. icon_e_wink.gif

  • I just hope it's a new character and not a variation on an existing one. Thanos is a good fit for the powers and the clue, but I do remember them saying he would be a boss. Maybe Magus/Adam Warlock?

If Thanos is off the table, then the different effects of purple would match Mandarin, but he's not a character villain known for love or having any great romances (he seems like the type to like his women like he likes his rings of power - 10 OF THEM, BABY!)

Madam Masque? She's on the Agent Carter show and has had an obsessive relationship with Tony Stark and the Hood. The power set seem beyond her abilities though, even the changed ones on the show.

Mysterio? The different effect could translate to smoke and mirror illusions. Again though, not know for love and only forum nerds like me love him.

Terrible thought, 5* Hood? He did have the Infinity Gauntlet for an issue or two of Avengers. Reducing countdown is something he did at the *3 level.

Or 5* Loki? Different effects= different magics (like the Dr Strange argument above) and Tumblr LOVES him these days.

If this IS a Goblin, and it's Norman, why in the heeeeeeck would they not give him a GREEN ability?

    Maybe it's Harry, thus Hobgoblin?

Harry Osborn was never the Hobgoblin.
I guess I could see the changing powers as a "bag of tricks" thing though...

Harry was Hobgoblin in the Ultimate universe actually, though for not very long and it wasn't very good. The Goblins were always a disappointment in the Ultimate universe, acting like 3rd rate rampaging Hulks, in a version of the Marvel Universe that already had a "kills 600 New Yorkers" Hulk. It was a shame because BEndis wrote the Norman side of Osborn very well.

I agree, his purple could be translated as a "bag of tricks", I hadn't thought of that. (but Harry Hobgoblin is still a bad choice).

I should have read that TPB, but it was several years ago, so excuse my bad memory.
Still, there hasn't been any Ultimate universe characters in the game so far, right?

It doesn't make sense for any of the Goblins. I don't see it being Thanos either as he will be a Boss event. The abilities don't harm the team they are aligned with, and since it is a 5* we can take a few of the spidey characters off the table. Plus I don't see it being anyway related to a Infinity Gauntlet event as we are a ways off from that in the Marvel Movie universe, and the Devs are most likely going to release events and characters like that closer to the movie release. It will more than likely be a character that in recent comics they are trying to push and since it is a 5* they are going to be a pretty powerful individual. Could be Vulcan, The Beyonder, or Adam Warlock, but I would think Adam Warlock would have Red and Vulcan as well for a power. Guess is as good as mine, but def don't think its a Goblin or Thanos.

By that point Ultimate Spidey was in a kind of rut, so you're forgiven for forgetting that storyline.

Well, technically.... icon_miles.png . But he did join 616 universe first before they added him. And I'm happy to use a no ultimate rule to keep out that version of Hobgoblin too. (LOOOVED the original Hobgoblin mystery from the 80's as a kid, even if it did fizzle out.)

Like Visions blue? As long as tile is on the board, every own match does more dmg?

More like the ability has a cooldown that you can shorten by using his yellow power or matching it away, it looks like. I am guessing it is a high damage move that they want to limit the spammability of it.
    • Maybe Rogue?

The drain power feature working with tiles instead enemies.

Mayne with it being deadpool month. What about cable or Francis????? I am just tossing guys out there with that in mind. I could be very wrong since colours don't really match anything but who knows.

Would love to see Rogue, but she is currently part of the Avengers comics, so if it is a villain, I don't see it being her. But the whole "Even Villains need Love too" hint her drain power and her being involved with Gambit who is on again off again hero/villain we could hope its her.

Oh man, I hope it's Rogue. I've been wanting her to be a playable character for months. Depending on what skills are used in different situations, it could easily fit. The only problem is that I would have expected yellow/green/black color scheme for Rogue.

black. final countdown, long term instakill CD maybe??

This is the best guess I've seen so far.

My guess is Thanos. This power screams Infinity Gauntlet. Each color having a different power. Yes, yes and yes.
I'm still holding my hopes out for Cable. icon_e_ugeek.gif

I'm going to add my guess of M.O.D.O.K or Ronan the Accuser. Since this game has a few little ties to the Movie universe and the fact they are gaining popularity in comics.

If you had enough black you could spam it.. with Kingpin. THAT could be a brutal combo, but you'd need 28 black to make it work, going from this Character's black , to Wilson's Gambit, this Character's black , to Wilson's Gambit again. Iron Fist would be a good 3rd for this.
