Really miss Hulk-Hunt times without scaling. Those were best PvE on my memory. Scaling is too gimmcky and currently only spoils whole fun. And yes, I have 5 blue Spidey, but it's BOOOORING. L230 is just "Stop" sign now -__-

Same here. Yes, I can do 230 fights semi-reliably. But those are also the two events (that I can remember) where everyone got at least one of the new hero (the top placers in Ares were able to get enough to make multiple of him). DD event followed by an event where you needed him for levels when maybe the top 5% of players got them and now this where also 5% got psylocke and she is needed for multiple fights.

Another point I just want to rant about, is for the people who DO have Psylocke, (barring money spent) only have 1/1/1 at most. Putting her up against 100-230 enemies is....almost as bad as putting DD fighting people who can't move tiles.
  • Dare Devil vs 3x Hammers icon_lol.gif D I do not understand, or?

I fought a guy in the Magneto tournament who already had a lvl 89 Psylocke. People are spending their money on her.

She never had a chance, of course.

+1 that's exactly my opinion too.

I'm liking the event so far, and I haven't seen any severe scaling.

The highest level opponents I've seen so far have been level 89. I haven't used my Spidey yet, for whatever that is worth.

I do have a Psylocke, that I've leveled up to 2-0-2.

I've played 5 Nigeria missions, but I can't unlock the two missions at the top.
I've played 5 Peru missions, but I can't unlock the next dot on the right.
How do these last missions get unlocked?

The hulk event was certainly the high point of this game. It's been down hill from there.

I really think that this is selective memory taking over. The problem with the Hulk event was that the brackets were extremely competitive, which means that you had to be grinding at each refresh in order to get top spots in the subs and main. The simulator hard mode gave me a look at what would happen if all the fights were actually difficult: I only had to do 1-2 full clears to secure a top 2 position in my sub, and I think having less grind is better for the game.

Give Demiurge a chance, they'll tune scaling such that it ends up being better than the old system. They're already giving us more meaningful rewards for these subs in the form of 1k/2.5k iso and respeccing, so I'm sure things will look up in the future. The outlook is positive after the local minimum that was Heroic Oscorp.

So... I finally was motivated enough to make an account just to voice my thoughts on something.
I find it rather scummy business practice to up the cost of a move shortly after people just got their covers and had the ability to put real money into that move to upgrade it based on the original AP cost. You had plenty of time before people had psylocke in their roster to up that move but you suddenly up the cost a few hours after you release her to the wild... quite frankly I find it disgusting practice and really hope this is something you will avoid in the future. I mean if you had issues pushing a patch until after the event you could have at the very least gave a public notice via in game or announcements that it was coming, but like you have done way to many times in the past it was just a stealth thing that appeared out of no where.

I should note this is in no way a personal thing. I didn't invest any money in her move, and in fact am not impressed by her move so even with the lower cost i had no interest in leveling up that move... but really... if you are going to nerf something right away like this do it before people get their hands on it... it feels to much like a bait and switch otherwise.

Thanks for the feedback, zulux - we expected this change to land before the event ended and we didn't anticipate anyone getting their hands on the 8-cost Bewilder, but we missed by an hour. Sorry about that, and glad to hear that the mistake didn't have an impact on you.
  • Seems like something finally clicked and event became much less difficult - hardest fight being L79 guys. Now, at this level it's much more enjoyable.
As for selective memory - I dunno, I was in early 2* phase, yet I got Hulk and Punisher both (and currently Punisher is important part of my team), even if I couldn't do some fights due to difficulty. And at least I knew I wasn't supposed to beat them yet.

Really enjoying this event so far.

Seeing slight scaling based off my own completion - not seeing any missions spike yet. I did start a bit later (most events start at 4am local time for me, so I would have started at about 4 hours after event start), so maybe it's a quieter bracket.

Black Panther seems.... interesting; I like that his Yellow uses Enviro tiles, but at first glance there's not really anything about him that makes me say "I want that!". I do, however, want those Punisher covers. I'm in need of quite a few more, so those are all tempting. That does mean I'll be aiming high for points, but it seems like a tweak on the same strategy that worked for the Simulator could be good here.

I also like the breakdown of rewards in the subs. Setting top to 1-5 should (theoretically) mean there's less reason to create a huge lead at the top - that's probably been the cause for scaling pushing the levels up on some of those big point missions in the past.

Copy+pasted from the char discussion thread, I think he's deceptively powerful.

So a couple of things to consider here:

    1. He has a yellow ability! While the base tile strength isn't that impressive (I'm guessing itll end up being about 25% more effective than Punisher's strike tiles at max level), the fact that it's yellow means that he fills a much needed role of a 3* that has a yellow ability that does something offensive-minded (Spidey doesn't help, so IM40 is your only other option, and his other 2 abilities are super mediocre).

    2. Black is on track with scaling to do as much damage as GSBW's sniper rifle. This I think is the main draw for this character: 12 black to do as much AoE damage as GSBW (with drawback) is pretty huge.

    3. His HP. That base HP means that he's on track to be more of the more tankier characters in the game, which means that he's going to be really good on offense.

I think this is a character that I can see investing in to pair up with my Punisher. Yellows are extremely rare, and when its semi-relevant and tacked onto a guy with a ton of hp and a sniper rifle level ability, he ends up being a lot better than he looks. I'm expecting him to be a high tier tanky support character,

Psylocke's worst skill nerfed? OK. Way to cement 5/3/5 as being undoubtedly the best build.

Black Panther looks way good imo. Decent health and amazing colours make him great on defense.
  • Just got to enjoy my first magneto polarity shift + spidey stuns

    SO JUICY

Sure it'll be nerfed, but I'll be enjoying it =)

    Wind Storm
  • I actually sidelined Spiderman for this since the enemies are no longer so insanely high level that you must stun them to death and it's very enjoyable for a change of pace, not to mention a lot faster.
  • Things i'm liking about the event so far :

    1. 24 hour brackets. Fast, furious.

    2. Black panther. I like new chars and this one looks to be flexible character in what team compositions it can go to.

    3. Scaaaaling seems okay for me so far but i shouldnt read too much into yet.

    4. Reasonable rewards . I'll just aim at top 50 every sub and be done with it what i hope will be minimal grind.

    5. Started right after previous event. I like having 4 events running at same time. I can choose what to focus on and what to just sort of meander into. Placing will be easier , i hope.

Thinks i dont like so far:

    1. Daredevil required chracter in goon match... WHY? This is oscrop **** (worst pve i've seen) all over again. He does nothing vs goons.

    2. Bit too similiar buffed characters as last pve. Well okay 33% are same. And uh i shouldn't really complain as C storm and Cap are only ones i have decent levels in.

    3. Sub event global point things. Mmm not sure these will even be filled in first events? Well maybe they will . But by the time they do and those ISO nodes open up, i bet they'll be 230s for me across the board.

    4. DA enemies everywhere. Simulator was breath of fresh air in this regard. I'm sick of fighting these guys.
  • Besides the 1st node in Peru, all my opponents are level 230 icon_eek.gif
  • dearbluey wrote:
Silly question RE: Crotchdevil. Why is he the required character on a mission where none of the enemy can move tiles?

Well if you read the mission it says Daredevil needs help dealing with these Hammer goons, because you know he can't beat them on his own.
  • So all the sub brackets end in 24 hours at the same time? Trying to figure out if i should join yet. i wanna let all the hardcore guys fill up the first brackets icon_e_wink.gif

I'm just going to join during peak hours when all the normal people join to maximize my chances of not getting into a hardcore bracket.

ah, the old reverse psychology tactic. I like it. Let me know how that works out for you lol
