GR black is sim 2k (was: Xfw yellow is sim 2k)

It's probably the conspiracy theorist in me, but I'm really starting to think they are intentionally trying to destroy this game so they can focus on other projects or something. Kinda like how musicians start churning out greatest hits albums with 1 or 2 lackluster new songs on them when they are contractually obligated to release new albums but don't want to.

The sentiment in this case falls along the lines of "they've got numerous 4* characters that they've introduced in the past handful of months, any of which would be far more appealing to a much larger number of people than literally one of the two oldest 4* in existence".

If they did, for example, Red Hulk, who is relatively new, but not the newest, then (other than whales and people with really odd runs of LT pulls) that character won't be fully covered, and let's call it 98-99% of the playing populace will be able to use that cover. I wouldn't be surprised if the number of players with a fully covered XFW outnumber the number with a fully covered Red Hulk by a ratio of 200:1. Sim 2K is one of the most attainable 4* covers in a given season, and this is a really **** reward for people clamoring for every 4* cover they can get to bolster rosters that are 12 deep in 3-5 cover 4*s.

If nothing else, there's 4* Wolverine covers in the daily rewards, unlike the majority of 4* characters, so taking away one chance to actively earn the other, harder-to-get covers stinks.

Of course I'm sure there are plenty of transitioners that could use xf wolvie. I'm also sure over 95% of the player base could really use a ghost rider cover. Also, there's been nothing but newer 4 stars offered as season rewards since 4hor was released, so please don't insult our intelligence and act as if this is par for the course. What gives?

There is sense in your post, but then just replace the 1900 reward for an old 4* cover. Veterans will still get 1000 ISO and beginners will have a bonus. All happy.

youre right, you cant please everybody.

but giving out ANYTHING newer than one of the oldest covers would be a start, too.
if you consider how many players have him maxed vs how many players could use [any other 4*], im pretty sure any other cover would indeed please more people.
(me? i couldnt care less, i probably get to 1997 points and from that moment on im losing more than i gain, at this point i dont even try)

soooo.... 24 4*s characters... and the top prize is .... the oldest? one of the oldest? the one which got nerfed like a year ago?
why does every single little detail feel like a slap in the face?
5* scaling, 20 iso reward, tokengate (love that term), yadda, yadda, here, have a xfw cover.

I understand You may be upset but I am glad with this cover.
My wolverine has 11 covers so he'll be more useful to me with a 12th.

I suppose it could be an experiment to see how high people will go in the Simulator for an old cover.
It made the decision to join the season early a lot easier though. I consider skipping the Chulk PvP to get an easier bracket, but without the Simulator to help my score I may as well join early and get what I can...

Black would be preferable.

DDQ 4* may rollover during or at the end of the season, so having the first guy off the ranks available does sort of make sense in a not-actually-trying-to-torture-the-userbase sort of way.

Saw this and immediately came here to start a thread, but of course it's already here. Everyone should be furious about this.

Several 4*'s in the past had EVERY COVER given out as season rewards. You could have a 1/1/1 Fury, and GT for example within three seasons of their releases. Ah - the good old days when they didn't release six 4*'s every season.

Now you don't even get ONE GUARANTEED new 4* in season - just an LT that loves to give you IW or SL over and over.

Instead the Sim is the -ONE PLACE- in season rewards where you get a guaranteed new 4*. Or it was. Come on D3...you've made 4*'s basically the only new characters that are released, but you are being so incredibly stingy in handing them out!

Back to the days of handing out all three covers of the new 4* before the release of the next 4*! If that means that there are six new 4* covers in Sim rewards, so be it!

Oh, nice. With the upcoming daily rewards, and this, my Wolverine will be 1/1/3 by the end of the season. Finally will have a 4* with more covers than my Devil Dinosaur.

To be fair, ever since the latest re-balance of X-Force Wolverine, I have been trying to shift from 5/5/3 to 3/5/5. In all this time, I have only gained one of the two yellows, but a bunch of green & black. Posting the only Wolverine cover to IMPROVE by the re-balance is not as terrible as people are making it out to be.

I'm pretty disappointed as well, although I can certainly put the yellow to use. my xf has been stuck on 4/5/1 for quite some time. I completely understand the '****' sentiments. they are dealing out new characters so fast that a newer cover sure would help the player base an order of magnitude more than xf yellow. my guess is that they will want to highlight whatever the coming feature will be as there are many 5/5/3 builds out there and there might be an advantage to adding a 14th cover to a character. but who is going to choose xf to 'champion' unless we get 10+ 'champions', there's a long list of higher priority characters ahead of him.

- 20 iso debacle
- Legendaries
- 5s rewarded just on luck
- Crazy pvE scaling disregarding leveling your chars most of the time
- Heroic events like the last one (with crazy hard nodes with a char selection that was really bad)

I see what you're saying about there being new players but 2K on sim is not really a viable target to hit if you're a new player since you'll end up seeing 4* teams way before you get near that mark (I saw them at 1200 points last season) so putting an old cover which only newcomers will need as a reward which newcomers won't be able to achieve is pretty redundant. You could easily pull an old cover from a token and you will need it as a newcomer so I think this prize should definitely have been aimed at vets.

While I realize grinding pve over the holidays is different from grinding Sim, maybe they did it because of all the complaints? Less work required for many.
