For those of us with a really undercovered/underleveled XFool, any suggestions on how to tackle the last essential node?

Would be a shame to get this far and lose because of this.

If you have prof x 4 blue abilitie, and 535 gsbw will be easy with blue purple boost. Dpxf will not be important with any lvl. Did it first try with prof x 150 gsbw 125. Faced a 395 lvl node.

I tried this on a lark while waiting for today's Purple Deadpool, and it was enough to beat the node (with some boosting). Have some rep!

The Deadpool Xforce node actually isn't that bad- only Hulkbuster does any real damage. Star-Lord can only hurt you if you let his red countdown tile fire, and Mr. Fantastic can only hurt you if he has his countdown tile down AND he's making red/yellow/green matches.

In short- kill Hulkbuster ASAP, then whittle down the rest. The one cover I have for Deadpool is the one that heals him (red), and I paired him with boosted Daken and boosted Beast, killed Hulkbuster fast, and slowly whittled down the rest.

I did use one Sniper Rifle GSBW team up to clear the damage countdown of Star-Lord, because if it actually does fire it'll almost certainly one shot you.

I'm actually having a lot more trouble with the Hulk/Black Panther/Devil Dinosaur node. Haven't found a team yet that can take them all out before being overwhelmed by strike tiles from Panther, or from Hulk's green.

Holy **** that was easy with this team. Great advice!
I brought in a +100% all damage just in case, and had very little trouble and beat it first try.
Who would have thought Beast would actually be decent?

A Beast Blue got me rolling, and surprisingly I pounded him with a 1 cover Xpool Purple. I had a match 4 that ignited two of them while I had several strike tiles out. Can't wait for more covers of that skill eventually.
Beast Green was surprisingly strong, it did like 3K damage to everyone thanks to the Blue special tiles.
I even actually cast Beast Yellow. All of those Protect tiles had me taking very little damage the rest of the fight.
Mr Fan did get off a Blue mid fight, but it hit Xpool so was of little consequence, as I was building his Red and didn't have his Black Passive and just used his purple.

It got a bit dicey when after Hulkbuster died, as Mr Fan got off his Black. Deceptively strong, kinda like Vison's Blue, but better cause you can make it last forever if you plan it out right.
After a few turns I was able to match it away though.
Starlord was next up and did nothing, although I think he was close to being able to use his purple when he was downed.
I had a Hood yellow team up waiting just in case, along with a trickery in case Hulkbster had gotten off his Overdrive.

That left Mr Fan as the only man standing.
Mr Fan's Yellow was irritating, as it healed him like 2400+ if I matched one of his special tiles. Forgot how that worked at first cause I almost never see him in fights.
Almost as irritating as X-23 in node 41. Sidenote = I had her at literally 1 Hit Point, and then she made two matches to get back up to about 5K Health. ****. I barely won that fight as I was stupid and left her last instead of Daken, so almost every turn she was gaining back over 2K Health! I knew it would be trouble with two self healers. Haven't fought a high covered X-23 yet, so now I know...

I had enough for two Xpool Reds, and then used Daken's Blue as the final finisher.

If nothing else, the Gauntlet does have us all come together to try and use unorthodox teams that we would never think to use otherwise.
Now I just have 5 of the essentials left in the 3rd batch (which I could Whales all of them if I wanted to) and that Yellow Prof X is mine! icon_e_smile.gif

I'm now stuck on the Red Hulk/Nick Fury/Kingpin node.

Granted I only gave it one shot, but it's one of those nodes where *all* of them are a priority with a ton of HP.
My Hood/Steve team had been doing okay in general (along with She Hulk for the X-Force team was actually surprisingly easy) but I either got a bad board or it just wasn't a suitable team. Steve got stepped on pretty quick, especially when Rulk got enough green.

I posted my strategy in a previous page, which I've pasted below:

I used a standard OBW, Ares, 1 cover quicksilver. I basically focused down Rulk first and the rest is simple.
    Main things to note:
    - Gotta watch their AP reserves every turn and make as many blue, purple, black matches with OBW as you can
    - Espionage matches with OBW help keep down (lowest to highest priority) KP poke/purple, NF demolition, and most importantly Rulk purple
    - Use OBW purple to keep the other ap reserves down while fueling your own.
    - use OBW blue to keep your team's health topped up
    - Ares tanks R/Y/G in case OBW needs a break and provides high dmg abilities, however, don't use any of his abilities until you can take down Rulk in a single turn so his red cd tiles dissolve
    - since OBW is so important, a blue/purple boost helps to start the match
    - while making OBW matches is important, look for good chances to make good 4,5-matches to deny them from building lots of ap

    Hopes this helps

I very much doubt that'll help against three level 294s =P

I have to say I had lots of fun in this Gauntlet. I only had to mega-Whale twice and I won several initially impossible looking matches with eclectic combinations, like when I brought my super undecovered and underlevelled Ant-Man to the Blade/LC/IF node that had obliterated my best teams and his Blue power made it a cakewalk.

Also, my opinion on Quicksilver has improved dramatically. He's certainly not a top character and is rather slow (ironically) but he's very fun to play and quite effective when paired with IF. Mine was buffed only to level 177 and still owned, making long chains of black 5-matches or other colours. I brought Magneto as my third as his powers make a rainbow team and reconfigure the board to help you set up 5-matches. Against the last node with Jean Gray (sneaky devs), I just brought 4hor, who also makes a rainbow team, but whose blue allowed me to stun JG before going off. Making 5-matches with a board full of charged tiles was quite brutal as well. Even though enemies were level 340, I had no problem whatsoever.

Woohoo, just did the final node (at level 348) first time with max Daken, Cyke and OBW! icon_e_biggrin.gif I love how OBW is still amazingly effective in high level matches, especially when she can hide behind Daken's tanking. Was a tense but fun fight.

I have to echo Pylgrim's sentiments above; I also really enjoyed this run of the event. My scaling wasn't off the charts and only slipped into Hard towards the second half of Global Domination. I mega-whaled three times, which I was pretty happy with. I don't have any viable 4*s, and only Daken at max level to take advantage of the 3* boosts, so didn't feel too bad icon_razz.gif

Looking forward to Heart of Darkness!

42( 379 level) node was done with OBW + hood (120 level) + cage. AP denial and damage mitigation makes wonders (first kill deadpool with righteious kicks, then wolverine with jab jab (27 black!) and then slowly kill Thoress. All heroes were damaged for less then 1k in the end.

I just beat the DPX Essential with Daken, KK and a DPX with 1 red cover. Pretty easy if you take out HB first and manage to match Star-Lord's CD tiles before they cause damage. It also helped that there wasn't much red/yellow/green on the board at the end while Imaginaut was running.

My biggest problem with the Gauntlet is the effort vs the reward. I am a two star transitioning into 3 star player. I have almost all the three stars except for 5 or 6 (:kamala:, icon_caroldanvers.png , icon_psylocke.png , icon_scarletwitch.png , icon_colossus_new.png , maybe one other). My 3*s on average have 5-7 covers with some less. The stronger ones I leveled up closer to my 94 2*s. The weaker ones I just left as is. Right now I am at node 35 with icon_cyclops.png , icon_kamalakhan.png , and icon_loki.png . I haven't tried it yet. They are scaled at 171 so far. My roster is only so varied. My mainstay team in this has been using classic icon_daken.png as tank because he has been boosted to 160 and either icon_ares.png and OBW, or MNmags and Mstorm.

I feel I am doing very well for my roster but the scaling is a bit high for my roster level. The thing is while boosted characters can be quite awesome they actually really hurt a level 94 player. At least it feels like it. I have XFDP, CDaken, and Marvel as my top 3 and they are 160,163, and 130ish. However I feel that it means my enemies have scaled up too quickly. I think for for a PVE that I shouldn't encounter these high levels until very close to the end and maybe some lvl 200 to clear the essentials.

I'm in the same boat at the moment. Transitioning from 2* to 3*. Before this gauntlet I had a core of about 7 'good' 2* like OBW, Ares and so on. And my best covered 3* was Colossus with 11 covers, I think. Rest of my 3* on average have about 3-6 covers. They are leveled between 40-76 with a few of them sitting at 94. So most of them aren't really useful yet.

People told me before the Gauntlet started that I would probably not make it to the end, so I didn't get my hopes up too much. Some of my 3* are boosted to quite high levels without them being useful (due to lack of covers) and so is my XDP with only 1 cover. So because of that scaling is pretty tough. And we can't use nice combo's like Patch/Loki/xx, Lcap/hood/xx or something else.

BUT I managed to clear all normal nodes just a few minutes ago! So I only have to do a few essentials to get my Prof X cover! And that being without any whales! I only acquired my DP purple a few weeks ago and I only saved up enough points for 1 whale so far.. I'm trying to save that one for an essential that might be too difficult (my QS is poorly covered as well).

Key is to try to find counters for some match ups. For instance I levelled up my Moonstone to lvl 94 (and boosted to 150), just to be able to flip strike and protect tiles. She has saved my life a couple of times. And I put some ISO in my Doc Oc, so he could survive long enough against Carnage to use his blue one or two times and kill Carnage almost instantly. I also use OBW on pretty much every fight and I boost blue/purple +2. Paired with some aoe team-ups I managed to get this far! At the moment I'm waiting for health packs to regen, but I'm getting more and more confident I can get that Prof X cover!

So TL;DR, keep trying! I wiped a LOT. But I'm getting really close to the cover. And if I make it, the ISO I dumped in mediocre champs like Moonstone and Doc Oc will definitely be worth it! Just try different teams, use boosts and don't give up if you wipe a few times. It's possible! icon_cool.gif

    Good luck!
  • Just finished Global Domination and got my pro X . These essential nodes were troublesome. I wiped out many times on the Xpool essential but finally beat it with cyclops and blade. The final quicksilver node was hard with Jean grey constantly getting off. It wasn't until I went back to old reliable OBW and teamed her up with Johnny storm that I finally won.

Getting close on #41 but X-23 is a pain. What lineup are you using? It got down to her and Loki and he couldn't do any DPS. Was running Patch/cyclops/loki

I beat it with Switch, IF, and Cyclops. Saving purple and black to nuke both her and Daken.
