I thought 40 would be easier but have wiped about 6 times and getting tired of it. Have used Daken/ddevil /Loki and daken/3clops/Loki and even though I hit thing with trickery either I get a Yancy St or Magnetized projectiles and KO for one character. I only have 2 whales left and the way this is going I should save them for the last 2 nodes.

I wish my Daken(137), Patch(117-need 3 red covers for optimal) was at a higher level and Loki(127-need 3 covers for optimal...2purple/1green) had more covers. So I could Patch/Daken/Loki this node.

Level 356 enemies--I'm thinking maybe a stunner, but the trick is getting the AP up quick enough.

Yeah I meant 2* storm and ms.marvel. Xfdeadpool is single cover but at least its black. I got lucky and took out node 35 in one try. Focused on Kk while stunning Cyc. Took her down and kept Cyc stunned and blasted out Loki. After that just kept Cy stun locked. The next node is scary with If, cage and Blade.

Any suggestions on the XFD essential?

My XFD is 1/3/1 so his out of bullets and countdown for what don't do crazy damage...I've been "resorting" to boosted characters but have had no success with 2 of Beast/DD/CMarv...thoughts?

Tried LDaken (w/ Beast and CMarv) and Patch/Loki too...

Wow...I did it, completing my first Gauntlet ever after playing for a year. I finally have 3* worthy roster (past 2 months or so I spent all my stored iso8.png ). What I am going to post is probably well known to vets of the Gauntlet but I thought it may be helpful for those dipping their toes into it seriously for the first time like I did on this run of the Gauntlet. Here is the things I found in that year concerning the Gauntlet:

1.) Anybody with a 2* developed roster and up should be handle the Wilderness Survival event.
2.) You need at least some decent 3* covered characters to complete in the Alpine Survival event.
3.) The latter half of Alpine is where things become challenging but Global Domination is where things really become bad.
4.) My go to team for the Wilderness, Alpine and first half of Domination was usually Cage, DP, Switch (unless forced to use other team combo). It worked really well and I only whaled one or two nodes through the whole thing.
5.) My go to team sputtered in the second half of Global Domination so I changed it up to Groot, Cyclops, Blade. Blade was the lifesaver who allowed me to punch way above my weight as most teams were 70-90 levels above me and were 4* in the second half of Global Domination. His strike and attack tiles were invaluable and allowed me to defeat teams with much higher hp than me.
6.) Groot was really helpful for most nodes as his high hp allowed him to take at least one major blow. I would position him to take the huge hit if I knew I couldn't avoid it and then try healing him with a yellow match. His blue was actually really helpful too in adding significant damage. His green was my teams only active green power and it was blah but helped every once in a while.
7.) Cyclops yellow was king by adding red tiles to the board for blade. I would save up black for his devastating shot and use red occasionally as I accumulated it.
8.) As with any difficult PvE, managing what the AI can match is really really important. I tried focusing on preventing AI from getting AP for its most devastating abilities. When I did, I won and when I didn't I usually lost. Bad boards happen and they seem to happen to me in bunches. I probably wiped out 20-30 times in all three challenges combined many times with 3+ matches in a row.
9.) Hulkbombing was useful in a few nodes (although I don't have a leveled up ideal green user I have found yet...working on 3hor now)
10.) Use power boosts and AP stores wisely. I only resorted to them when I met nodes that I had extreme difficulty defeating. Once I wiped three times or so on a node, I would start to resort to them. Team-ups can be critical but I didn't have many ideal ones to use in the right situations usually so they didn't play a huge factor in my success or failure overall.
11.) I learned that IMHB is not that scary when he isn't paired with IF lol but Jean Grey 4* still is. (too much PvP experience there)
12.) Level 250 CMags is annoying as his red is nearly enough to one shot my maxed 3* characters and his blue is enough to do so. He also only need 8 and 10 AP respectively which is hard to deny him both. He showed up too many time in this gauntlet for my liking.
13.) Hulk is easy to beat - leave him to last and make sure you have stun capabilities to beat him or have enough AP saved back to beat him in one shot with multiple powers. Cage (black), Daredevil (blue), Switch (purple) or Cap (blue) are all good abilities to use to stun him and open up on him so his Anger ability doesn't fire.

A few specific nodes of note:
1.) Last node - XFWolv, XFDP, 4hor - I had to sub Hood in for Groot(with Blade/Cyclops) as this team was just too fast. First match I wiped XFWolv out fast but then XFDP massacred me. Second match, bad board and once again XFDP just wiped me out. I realized that XFDP was the most dangerous member on this match not XFWolv. XFWolv was easy to control by keeping black away from him but XFDP red and purple were both devastating along with his passive black. 4hor was not a worry. Third match I finally threw in Hood (mine only has 4 covers and is under leveled) but that was enough as I took them down easy. The only issue was I had to be careful to not match blue as that would put Hood vulnerable and any one of the AI powers could one shot him.
2.) XFDP essential node - well I thought I was screwed here as my XFDP is only 1 cover (red I think). Matched him with Cyclops and Blade and got wiped first time through. Second time through Blades tiles wasted the AI team which was Mr. Fantastic, maybe Ant Man and someone else?
3.) Hardest node to fight was Cage/Blade/IF imo as I wiped at least ten times against that one. I think I ended up Hulkbombing it and barely beat it when I did. The second hardest node for me was the node with Thing in second half of Global Domination.
4.) The essential nodes with Quicksilver were challenging as my QS is under leveled but I do have a fair number of covers for him. Daken was so so as his low hp made him really fragile even with his regeneration and his tile passive paled in comparison with Blade.

Blade and 3* Cyclops if you have them.

I've never been this stuck before, but I'm stuck on Sim 36. Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Blade. They're level 343, and I can't kill a single one of them before they KO my whole team.

Any advice? Here's my roster for reference. I only have a few people at 166, and I think having Surfer and OML are finally hurting me in a PVE, as I'm seeing other people with the same number of 166s having enemies under level 300.

    http://mpq.gamependium.com/rosters/SirLaniker/

I would say yes the 5* are hurting you to some degree but you also don't have optimal 3* characters for this. You need damage dealers maxed out like Blade or Cyclops. Based on your roster, the character you have maxed at 166 aren't going to be fast enough or able to deal enough damage. The scaling is killing you because I have approximately the same number of maxed 3* on my roster with no 5* covers and my scaling maximum was at 280 for my opponents I believe. In addition your Daken was maxed and boosted. I enjoyed the fact that none of the boosted characters were maxed characters for me so they all average out around 153, close to my max lvl character of 166. I imagine your Daken was around 233 and QS was probably boosted as well since he was essential putting him over 200 or so along with your two 5* that inflates your scaling significantly. So your top 5 average of characters was over 200 whereas my highest was Daken at 180 something and then the next four were at 166.

Only my second time clearing all of the Gauntlet, it was easier than last time. This time I went through the main path of all 3 subs before going back to do the essentials. When I got to the essentials, I started with hardest Sub, last essentials and worked backwards.

I used various teams based on who the opponent was. Since Daken was boosted, I decided to use him, 3* Bullseye, and SW. Matched Green for Bullseye, Generate strike tiles, SW generates purple, Bullseye uses purple to blow up Dakens strike tiles... get enough Green and you can then use Contract Killer and destroy a bunch of tiles to create a match 4 or 5 if possible.

I also used XFDP with SW on a couple, that's what I used to beat Hulk... Beat the other two, and when Hulk was left, I dropped a couple of "Countdown for what" which placed them all on green, then I gave Hulk a smack and let him generate his anger tiles and create a bunch of green matching away all those CD tiles on Green and he killed himself, if was great to watch.

Used IM40 with 1 yellow cover and LCap a few times with IF or LC as the third. It was nice even though I got up there in the 300+ scaling, I only used 1 Whales TU when AI got a huge cascade and took out two of my 3 guys and he had 2 guys left. I think it was on an essential, but oh well. It was worth it, I was winning up until the cascade, so it was my safety net instead of my intent from the beginning.

Couple of questions. Does finishing side branches in Wilderness Survival effect scaling in Global Domination or are they treated as separate events?

Also, my roster is getting better, but not sure if it's enough. With 2 whales remaining, is it possible to finish or should I just accept things and focus on Oscorp Legendary token?

Last run of the Gauntlet I watched the first node in the third, and it didn't go up at all when I did the essentials in sub 2... So I assume they are not connected.

This time I didn't do any essentials until I finished the main path of all 3 subs, just to be safe.

Any advice on node 40 (Thing/Blade/Magneto)? I was goin pretty well for a while with Beast/2Thor/OBW, took down Blade and about half of Magneto, but then mags got an ability off and things just went downhill from there. icon_e_sad.gif

This was second toughest node for me in the entire gauntlet. Based on your roster it may be tough as I used Switch/Deadpool/Cage but you don't have that opportunity. I think you will have to go with Daken since he is boosted for you. Depending on the AI level, maybe OBW for AP steal? Magneto and Blade are real tough as is Thing's green. I took out Thing first using DP red ability then whales (normal not supercharged) off of Switch's purple generation. Took me a ton of time as I wiped quite a few times. Maybe pair Daken with Stormento based on your roster?

Mine is now at 366-367 after I completed the 3rd map. They were probably around 20 levels less when i beat it.

I didn't realise you were also looking for advice to beat this node. For your roster, the team I mentioned before wouldn't be possible, because your Iron Fist has 3 purpleflag.png , Scarlet Witch has 3 blueflag.png and Luke Cage is still under covered in general.

In your case, I would use Daken in the centre, Black Panther on the left and Iron Fist on the right.
Daken will tank for Iron Fist, who will convert tiles to blacktile.png for Black Panther to Rage. Just be careful about the AP that he will give to the opponent's team, because giving them redtile.pngyellowtile.png or blacktile.png means Cyclops will release his powers sooner. In this case, targeting him first might be better, KK next and Loki last.
Thanks for the suggestion - couldn't get it done with that combo - got close on 1st attempt with not healed characters but no luck since then... I did just whale it.

After reading all these posts have realised I need to win any level once a day with DP and save up the whales. Learning so much through the gauntlet!!

Loki was huge for me. I saved up enough black to be able to fire his power and then triggered Thing's protect tiles. I ran Daken and Cage along with him. I focused on whittling down Magneto while building up the black.

You have the right covers for Loki for this so you can try it along with Daken. Your third is where it gets fun. I would probably take BP so I could get strike tiles for Daken to use to trigger Thing's protect.

I was prepared to super-whale node 41, but I actually ended beating it with the unlikely team of Scarlet Witch/Beast/2* Ms. Marvel. The boosts I used: match damage x8 and... +2 team-up AP icon_lol.gif My original plan was to use Ms. Marvel yellowflag.png to get enough TU AP to whale, but then Prof X was downed fast. And then Daken was permanently stunned and X-23 only got off one heal. Needless to say, I was quite perplexed after downing X-23 icon_e_biggrin.gif

Feeling extremely lucky, and will resume my exam revision with a smile icon_e_biggrin.gif

Huge thanks for this. Used the same as you (Loki/Cage/Daken) and it went really quick once I used trickery on those protect tiles =)

I don't understand the scaling in this gauntlet. I am Node37 the hood/patch/DD node and they are level 370. Why am I facing 370 opponents? I have/had XF/GT maxed for about a year and that is it for 4*so this scaling is absolutely atrocious. There are challenging nodes and then there is insanity - all for one ProfX cover? Ugh.

Yes getting your DP points daily is huge, you will average around 2800-3200 per day (at least I do). I use him with Cage and Switch to do Big Enchilada every day to get my DP points along with getting iso and covers from DP daily. I have only been using DP in the past few months, if I had used him since starting I would have tons of points banked!
