Actually I notices Spidey as the one (and only) character the AI plays well. And got several wipe-outs to him, especially early before I learned to skip him or summon a really concentrated attack with proper counter-team and possible boosts.
I recall game there all webs and shields were in unreachable corners, Spidey was beaten from 3500 to 500 but from then on only got 1 pts from the 1/3 of team not currently stunned. And of course the AI got a ton of blue from cascade on top.
But with all that I think all the nerfing due is to set minimum cost of 4 on the blue.
I imagine new spidey as
Blue takes 6ap. Stuns all enemies for 1 turn +1 for every(or every other) web tile on board. Creates 1 web tile.
Yellow healing effects reduced by 25%.
Who knows though. They could change him entirely.0 -

Err, OBW deals a ton of damage -- If i had a running matter I'm sure she would be on top with a huge gap. Not even talking about feeding that third guy's power to actually go off.
Though the shields indeed soak up most, maybe all of the damage unless you can shell out compensating swords. If you attack spiderman team it's foolish to not be prepared for the shields in some proper way, be it elimination or counter.0 -

Let's hope for the better. They overnerfed rags by a lightyear but the next nerfing session was pretty elaborate work (even if most of us could thing of improvements).
6AP blue would be the same ruin as rags. Hope they learned the lesson there.
Side channels suggest 5AP for most probable outcome with some serious strenghtening (maybe adding 2 webs or some more strength like Wol creates more strike tiles now.)
IMO the 4AP would be the best cost though at top level (just as for rags), with some possible light tweaks on the effects.0 -

This thread is a thread I made because there were tons of different balancing threads about single characters. I created a thread for generalized conversation about the subject to decrease amounts of threads being created about it. The conversation had moved from iron man to OBW to iron man to doom to rags to spidey and everywhere inbetween. There have been a lot less other threads popping up and everything has been going as intended.
That's why the topic is continuing. It's 1 of those topics that when any character is messed up now or in future we have a platform to discuss it. Keeps things tidy.

I agree, except that the yellow is going to be nerfed already from only one third of the webtiles being present. They might balance it the other way.
If they go for a more drastic change, I can see them making purple an active ability like Magneto's blue, except it makes blue shields as a purple power. Then you can use it for protection or to feed blue.0 -

To get a little back on subject. It's been a really long time since a balance has happened and there's still a decent list left. I bet some buffs are coming soon. S&V or maybe 2* mags / hawkeye.0

Right now I've got a very huge desire to try M.Hawkeye, Hulk and Hood. I'd really like to see how they balance out MHE.
My thoughts on what could happen would be allowing you to chose where the countdown gets placed with a decrease in overall effectiveness but with cover upgrades allowing you to over write some tiles.
How would you funbalance MHE?0 -

I think letting you choose the countdown would instantly propel him into high tier land with Thor and the bunch. Something interesting that they could consider is for Hawkeye to do something to the opponent whenever he avoids, such as stealing AP. This would be pretty cool as you can think of it functioning like espionage (where you want him to be the main matcher) on offense, and act as an aoe deterrent on defense.0 -

Anyway, my point was not that Spiderman is undefeatable, my point is that he is cheap and everyone uses him to beat stronger teams so in high MMR he is everywhere, and since Wolverine and Thor were balanced to address the fact they were in every fight, Spiderman must follow suit to diminish his frequency. I am wanting the change to happen now rather than later, so until the change happens he stays flat at 100. He is a great character but 2ap stun is OP, nobody could argue otherwise. Nothing should cost 2AP, since it's 3 uses per 2 matches.
The topic of the AI is interesting. I for one find that the AI will the punisher is the best. He is so aggresive defending that it's truly...punishing. I guess this is because of how his powers are spaced close to each other, in terms of AP consumption. I wish I had more punisher covers, I would like to run him with patch and spidey0 -

And to go back to the original post, I would like to see Wolverine X-Force be next for balancing. It'd be nice to see the devs capitalize on the goodwill they've been generating with the recent tourney and the R48 announced features. If we can get him up-balanced, then it would set the stage for another 4-star to get added (probably at the same time Spidey gets right-sized).0 -
What do people think will happen to classic Magneto? He was on the official kill list, but I still spent a ton of ISO on him in recent weeks since I like how he plays and he was/is buffed in multiple tourneys.
His purple is one of the most damaging abilities in the game, but it's not that cheap. I could survive it if they increased the cost to 12, but then they better leave the damage alone. The blue is probably the most problematic, but it's very cruical for me to get through high level Maggia **** without spidey, since it can reliably and cheaply take out countdown tiles. I don't know how they want to balance it without making it useless. The red is super weak, but sometimes you get lucky and it opens up a completely stuck board.
I really don't know how they could change him beyond making purple slightly more expensive without breaking him. They could buff the red's damage I guess0 -
