No Holds Barred - Elite

Congrats guys!! Job well done! Although I'm a little upset we all got screwed in zero point hell for the last 24 hours , I still has a blast. These last hours have been intense ! Also , it feels nice to lose the top prize to your betters rather than someone coasting on an MMR loophole. I'm looking forward to the next fight !0

Biggest consolation I think I got from this tourney was the knowledge that I put some serious hurt on anyone who attacked me. Got quite a few successful defenses in this event.0

It was fun, but i have to admit i am very dissapointed. 0 point hell started yesterday and i grinded through it 1 point at a time while you all slept just to be No.1 . Then it got fix and you easily leaped passed me. True it was a fair fight in between, but in the last 30 minutes it was 0 point hell which i never expected so i didn't have a full 3 nodes... TINYKITTY indeed.0

They will have to click accept what, over 100 times in a row. Then comes the selling.
Was it worth it, really?
All that RSI...
Haha, I hadn't thought about that.
Wait, is there a size limit to the Stash? I guess we've got a good idea at the minimum possible value for it now.0 -
Finished 67 using 107 patch, 85 Ares, 85 OBW. Used 2 three hour shields tonight.
Got 2 thors and c storm. Oh well
Gratz to the winners!0 -

Very nice! This was my first elite tourny and I wanted to see how i would do without buying a shield and i made top 400. If i do another elite tourney i will make my push earlier and then shield 3 or 8 hours to cover me through the end.0 -

A ridiculous loss. Probably could have bought the rewards twice over.
However, had the best time I've had in the game so far. You gamble , sometimes you lose. Odds were never in my favor anyway. The top three had much stronger teams than myself -- I knew the stakes0 -
Very entertaining!
For myself, I was unable to crack the top 100 in the end (again, was running 81 Patch / 85 OBW / 64 Loki). I was just spinning my wheels too much there in the end. It would have required a much bigger spend in shields and more time than was left in the tourney to get there. Lesson learned is that I would need to start pushing (and shielding) much earlier than I did.
Net loss of 550 HP in the end (including entrance fee), for 3 heroic tokens, 2000 ISO placement reward, and (certainly) thousands of ISO earned from battles.
My tokens:
2** Mag (purple)
C Storm (blue)
Moonstone (purple)
At least I needed...well, at least I could use all three of them!
EDIT: Strike that, my C Storm was already at 5 blue.0 -

Joined with 3 hours left on the clock, fought my way high enough to win 3 tokens and 2000 ISO. Pulled a Red Capt, Red Mawk, and a Green Wolverine. Not great, but enough to justify the cost of entry. Congrats to everyone at the top!0

That's a lot. I spent perhaps 12k HP. Maybe enough to buy 40 covers0 -

It will be easier to those on steam... Spacebar and faster graphics.0 -
Overall it's a very fun tourney but a HUGE hp dump reguardless. The entry few was fine but the way you gotta do shields. Fight shield fight shield. That's just insanity. Nty. I'll just buy a couple green widows before I try any o that.0

Well, that was interesting. Looked at the event at about 3 hours left and thought....I know I'm not going to do awesome, but...hell, why not...
68 OBW, 50 M Storm and 41 Patch (when he died took 45 Cap America along instead for the heck of it....)
Got to around 880, knocked back to 1100 by the end of it all - 2000 ISO and 2 heroic covers was more than I was expecting, to be honest. Purple Magneto (Now!) and Yellow Classic Storm.
I'm happy. But then, I'm easy to please.0 -

Now you're gonna make me do the real math...
I started this weekend with about 8600 HP. I also played Blind Justice aggressively alongside this tourney. Placed #1 in Blind Justice and #8 in the Elite round.
Rewards:
1x X-Force
2x Doom Blue
2x Doom Black
1x Cap
1x Hulk Black
1x OBW
15350 ISO
550 HP
Progression:
50 HP
2250 ISO
1x Astonishing Wolive
1x Rag Green
+3 Stockpile
Appx 13000 ISO earn from play
Appx 4k spent on ISO boosts
400 HP spent on cover packs (got greedy for Hulk) -- Classic Spidey x1, Cap x1, Moonstone x1
....
Ended at 175 HP (!)
All in all:
1 = 4* covers
6 = 3* covers
3 = 2* covers
appx + 26k ISO
Appx cost: 9000 HP
That actually puts me at a slight win overall.
Had an awesome time, which is what we are really after in the end though.0 -
Lets all congratulate the real winners here: D3P! They managed to pull well over two million HP out of the system. Well played D3P!!0

This was my first tournament of this type. In every other I played it wasn't a shield fest. Finished in 7th I believe.
I have a couple questions for people in the know.
1. What team does the computer pick for you when someone fights you in these? Anyone who faught me care to enlighten me on who they faught? And then if you did, we're they any good with the computer at the helm?
2. What was with all the 0 fights popping up? Where there really that many people shielded below the top 15?0 -
Managed top 1000, had shielded at like 200th and just dropped like a rock as I was focusing on other tournaments. My 2000 iso went into Modern Storm, and my token pulls included a yellow Thor (useful) and a Bullseye and something else I sold for iso.
Now to focus on winning my bracket in IM40's PvP.0 -
Went in with 141 Spidey/119 Patch/85 Thor and was hating the fact that I have to spend my 3750 HP on just shielding and realised it wasn't worth it so I only spent like 200 (After the 500 HP reward) and placed #64 It was alright, but I hope this doesnt become a thing, these tourneys are very stressful and unsatisfying unless you're in the top 10 really.
Really wish they could do away with the broken point system already, there's no feel of progress when you just keep bashing people and they bash you back and rinse and repeat and staying in the same spot you are in and if you decide to stop you will just plummet down, not fun at all.0
