    Its been 20 mins since I broke shield and I'm still getting a stream of (45) shielded attacks pouring in. It's like climbing a mountain, one misstep and it's a looooonnng way down.

    Loving the fast and loose play in the top 3...

    Optimates is finally back in fifth, with poor Jose finally falling below the still-shielded Murlok. Peanut is in fourth, but there is a gap of almost 80 points between him and Nemek in third.

    Jose is out of control. He's been dropping shield constantly since last night, even while the rest of us were in 0-point hell.

    He did that in the Avengers Elite as well. Weird to spend that much HP and time to fight for a top spot twice and let it fall apart like that.

    Not to interrupt the top ten commentary, but I'm still struggling toward the top 100 with my sub-85 team ( 81 Patch / 85 OBW / 64 Loki). I unshielded with 90 minutes left at 800 points. I won four quick matches to take me to 900, which put me in the top 200--not enough. I pressed my luck with one more match and came out to find myself hit three times--twice by the same guy--and knocked down to exactly 800 points. I played one more and reshielded at 822 points. I'm going to make one more push with ~20 left, but I don't like my chances...

    I suspect we'll see him again before the end. That guy doesn't stop.

    I lost a critical battle against Neil. Hulk owned me with an old school Ragnarok cascade. Got hit twice during that fight too. Since that last shield 20 minutes ago I've been attacked 9 times. ... Blood is in the water icon_eek.gif

    No! He has widened the gap between him and Nick to 46, and he's just one point away from 1800. Will he try to break that insane total? We'll see, as we enter the final 30 minutes of this tournament!

    So, as it gets down to the wire, everyone is waiting with bated breath. An unshield for a few points could mean total defeat, if you take too long. Maybe you'll get some bonus points from a lower player losing to your shielded team.

    Anything could happen when the game is this close!

    I'm unshielding for one match at a time to avoid being hit and only looking for high-point matches against opponents who I can beat quickly, i.e., before I get hit by a bunch of other players. I beat the same team for 31 and 30 pts and am now in 39th place. That is the only opponent over 30 I was able to find other than stocky102000, who is now top 10, but is playing lvl 141 Patch and Mags with lvl 113 Spidey. I just don't see how I can beat his lvl 141 Patch and Mags with lvl 113 Spidey quickly enough to avoid being targeted.

    Ok can't even imagine how much havoc I just caused up top.
    I started with those few matches then all I could find were 40-48 pointers.
    I couldn't resist. I go from 1102 or 1002 or whatever I was to 1300.
    Get knocked down 81. Back to 13?? Knocked to 1200. Now I'm shielded at 13?? At 20ish.
    Might make another run just for the fk of it. I have 3 more top 8's queued up already. Hehe

    Meanwhile, Nemek has won another battle, putting him in second just 32 points behind Neil.
    Finally, goodbye to our long-standing 10th-placer, Murlok! The combined efforts of stocky and jake have pushed him off the scoreboard. Bet he's not happy about that.
