Konman wrote:Is it just me, or do they crank the enemy's luck up to 11 on these events? Its not just the seemingly increase in cascades, but they are cascades of the appropriate color as well. On sim 30, Switch, Cyclops, and Shulk...first turn, super yellow cascade. 2nd turn casts Mutant Revolutionaries, leading to red and black cascades, which lead to Optic and Full Blasts, which kills two of my team off, leaving only Modern Hawkeye...and an inevitable retreat.
I wiped twice on that node due to uncanny cascades, brought in loki for the 3rd try and their cascade fortunes turned against them.0 -
Haetron wrote:Im curious. With a level 94 roster is it possible to even finish the gauntlet? The levels keep creeping higher each node, and while I do have 2 star Daken and Wolv boosted to 150, Hawkeye as well, and Deadpool and SW are above 94 after boosts, im curious if I should really even stress being able to finish. Im not really having any trouble yet, mind you, just finished the Sentry/KK/Capt Marvel2 node.
As others have said, it is possible. The final nodes will be in the ~250 level range, so you have to have a good strategy, not make many little mistakes and get lucky (luck is always a factor in Gauntlet). The more diverse of a roster you have at/around your max level, the easier of a time you'll have. That being said, it won't be easy regardless...rakesh14021983 wrote:How do you beat that IM Hulkbuster + Hood + IF level?!! I have been decimated by that team!
Please help... That's the only one I need to clear...
I used Hulk/Thor/(either KK or GSBW....I forget which, but probably KK). With your opponents having no active green abilities, you can flood the board with green without much worry. You'll be firing off your green abilities after using Thor's yellow or someone else's purple, typically, so Hood stealing green isn't hard to deal with. As always, you do need some luck to avoid cascades giving them windfalls of AP to work with. Hulk needs to be tanking green, as he's only there to soak damage and generate green tiles. Having him get killed isn't a big deal, as long as you've worn them down a bit by the time he falls. Good luck.0 -
Rojas66 wrote:Thanks! I was able to complete it with switch/deadpool/spidey. The key was purple, Spidey threw out protects and his yellow was there to help heal. Was doing good and then got enough to whale them so I went with it.
I've been using this trio, or swapping Spidey with Steve. It's been steamrolling most of the nodes. Spidey's quick stun is good for when you're ready to drop some whales on a team that has a DX/Cap Marvel type character. Cap for when I needed that extra damage, or the ability to overwrite some tiles.0 -
Who's the sadist that thought it was a good idea to make Reed essential for the last essential node?0
-
For the easy Quicksilver essential nodes (basically all the ones in the first sub), a team of him, Scarlet Witch and modern Hawkeye is both effective and fun while still being quite theme appropriate. My QS only has two covers and my SW is both under-covered and not optimally covered, so this can probably work for any 2-3* transitioner. With all the painful nodes out there, it's nice to have fun where you can get it0

At least you can whale it. The real sadist was whoever thought up node 41.0 -

Nope, the real sadist is still whoever thought up bombs-away ultron + Loki + she hulk in the last gauntlet. . .0 -

Current bane of my life, got really close once and had Cage down to 5k but not been that close again. The one node i would like to whale but can't.
For the record i have a lvl 94 roster and have been Wol/Dak + Hood/Loki/someone
My cap has 4 red so i may have to get the 5th one and see how that affects things.0 -

THIS!!
Tried to do it legit, lost multiple teams, and Whales is not an option.
Luck should be a factor in beating a node, not a frickin' requirement.0 -

Someone suggested lcap/kk/hood above, which is awful since using kks best skill results in two x-enforcers being put out. I am struggling mightily with this node. Going to try switch/spidey/lcap after i get some health packs back and my characters aren't all dead. Something to deal with if's attack tile while you deal with dpxf is a necessity.
I used Steve Rogers, Scarlet Witch, and Hood and came within an inch of success five times. At that point I was out of health packs, so I switched to 3* Thor, Spider-Man and Loki, and came through with enough health to take Thor straight through to the final node. (For the record, I actually think the first team I was using is the better one. . . I just couldn't get the board to work for me. Just don't use SW's purple until you have enough Blue to to deal with Deadpool's countdowns if he isn't the one who gets the stun.)
3* Thor, Spider-Man and Loki - Totally worked. I saw this and thought "that's... That's so crazy it just might work!" then it did. So thanks.0 -

I finally beat it with Patch Daken Loki. Patch and Daken can largely heal through the LUDICROUS boosted IF attack tile. Just stockpile enough Black before hitting Berserker Rage so you can swap the purple strike tiles to Shields which will negate IF's attack tile (for as long as you have them there anyway).
Focus down DP4 first. I went for IF second, though maybe should have gone for LC because by the end, Loki was the only one left standing.0 -

I found that Kamala Khan, She-Hulk, and Hood worked really well too. Spam She-Hulks green to both get rid of their AP and trigger Kamala's healing. Use She-Hulk's blue to steal really useful protect or attack tiles. Hood's yellow to do massive damage. Kamala's purple to feed She-Hulk's green. You also get a rainbow team with this one team.0 -

Yuck. I may have to spend another superwhale.0 -

NICE! Used this team on the final node. Just had to wait until DP4 was down to use Embiggened Bash or She-Hulk Red.
Thanks!0 -

but I am happy that I've gone farther than ever before. I don't think I've finished the first leg in the only two Gauntlets I've played. this time around I've completed the first leg, and will be completing the second leg (today more than likely, just a couple essential nodes left).
however, the third leg looks insurmountable even on the second node (lvl 161/162 shulk, switch, cyc).
is the third leg longer than the first two (i.e. more nodes), or is it just my imagination
got it first try with stormneto and loki (don't have hood, wish i did)0 -
I finally cleared all the nodes in Gauntlet III. It was the 395 Hood, Hulkbuster, Fist node (Quicksilver essential) that I wiped on most. In the end I was lucky with (166 5/3/5) GSBW / (188 5/0/3) Prof X, boosting All and Blue / Purple. I had an immediate match-5, and from there cleared it all without the opposition making a move. My (125 5/3/5) Quicksilver was actually useful, with Idle Hands setting up a few match-5s on the way, and the critical tiles created by Fists of Fury helped too.
The rest of the nodes I just super-whaled. Using Deadpool every day in Daily Deadpool has paid off big-time.0 -
Hey guys, this thread is fantastic!
May I ask how do U guys get past mr fantastic subnode(ultron/antman/carnage) and the one of quicksilver essentials , Hulkbuster/If/hood?
I suppose whaling is an option but I would wan to give it a try, using my gd old patch/Loki(after Loki heals)
Prob wouldn't get past mr fantastic coz of carnage(prob need a stunner char ?)
Most of my char are alright(besides hulk/dr oct)but can't really use 4star as it's mostly 1-2covers only.
Thanks for any suggestions !0 -
Just passed the second part of the gauntlet. Won't be able to complete the third, since I don't have a Mr.Fantastic.0

Little question: what are the enemies you face in the last 2 sims and the last 3 essential nodes? Im currently at sim 40 (blade/punisher/cmags) and i wanna know what is coming after that0
