Just wanted to note one bug/issues.

After the close the the deadpool pve, the screen went to black with the purple border. I got all my appropriate covers so its not really broken, but its definitely slower than before. Not sure if the blank screen was a result of the servers getting hammered with pve results or not.

Aside from that I agree with everyone else that the event graphics are too big. I actually feel that the older UI presented more information on the screen and was more usable. Hopefully, we can this addressed soon.

To be fair, IceIX did post early screenshots ahead of time and folks weren't complaining as much (most actually seemed to like it):

I guess once now that we have it in our hands, it changes opinions a bit more, lol.
kind missing the down vote button right about now

If they were quite obviously going for an 80's retro theme, like Far Cry: Blood Dragon, then they would have succeeded brilliantly. But I have a strong suspicion that this was a sincere attempt...so they have instead failed brilliantly. All the complaints I have are already in this thread. Many, many times.

Please just put the old UI back in place, and spend whatever energy you would have in trying to repair this disasterpiece instead making the actual match UI better. We'd all appreciate it.

Some small things I noticed are that Iso rewards seem to have been increased across the board.
The Venom chapter now awards 2* Ms. Marvel covers (instead of Bagman?) - I was actually anticipating a chance to get 1* Spidey here...?
But I haven't looked at the reworked rewards in detail. There may be more changes yet to be discovered...

I like that the new shield resupply button is more clear but i absolutely hate that the new alliance button is where the roster button used to be. Constantly clicking the wrong button since hitting roster bottom right has become so automatic for me. I think buttons should stay where they were unless there's a real improvement in changing. The alliance button would still fit next to the resupply, so why change?
(the gift and cancel gift button switch was the worst)

Other than that, i like a cleaner look but agree with most people here disliking the sizes and style. The inner glow on Prologue/Story/PVP buttons is just sad.
  • New giant blocs are horrible.

The screen has enough room to show each mission stacked vertically, allowing scrolling if four or more are active.

The information regarding current events' points, rank, alliance points, alliance rank (if all of these are indeed needed) could clearly be shown on one screen with no need for scrolling.

It is very useful to get an all-in-one view of the current state of play...

How am I doing this season? is my simulator score going down? where did I rank in the pvp that just finished?

    Show me without scrolling please.

    An idea for UI style:

Since this is a game based on comics, why not implement a traditional-comic-styled menu page? For the various events, list them like a comic strip.

And why use tabs? There is enough room to stack three "wheels" , with each wheel being story, prologue and versus. Make them individually spinnable all on the same page. The wheels could be styled to look like the previously mentioned comic strips.

And put Health Pack quantity next to HP and ISO up top. And a button that takes you to the team up/boost page.

All this could be accomplished in a nice distinctive style that does not clutter the screen

The new UI is absolutely ugly! Sorry to the programmers, but I don't like it for one second. It looks like 8-bit Nintendo graphics. I like the extra tabs to separate the PVE and DDQ from the prologue, but man, the lack of colors and huge tiles aren't cutting it. Can we have an option for the old layout like we do for the forums?

So I was partially right about the new character being Spider-Man. Hohohoho

Man do some of you guys/gals pay attention to detail. I played for 4 hours last night and couldn't tell you what color the new background screen is.

I'm in agreement on the terribleness of the alliance button being where the roster button used to be, incl. on Steam. Was many times catching up on the witty alliance banter instead of upgrading my roster, which is what I was trying to do.

already used to it.. but hey, at least i don't need my glasses on to see bracket size or placement anymore.

Also, why do PVP's show up on the Story screen when they end and you are awaiting rewards.. shouldn't they stay on versus?
  • New UI looks fine on my Moto E, which is a low end device, admittedly. There's still some color issues, but I had no complaints.

On my tablet, it's much worse regarding pixilation, as many have commented.

    Pros:
    * Always present alliance button. May take some getting used to because it's where the roster button used to be, but not anything can't adapt to.

    * Prologue on separate tab. Great decision.

    * Different colors for tabs.

    * Less wasted screen space. The Old UI has these huge bars below and above the event selection that were, well, completely useless. It looks like the extra space gained was used mostly for the event "covers" to be blown up in size, but at least its being used.

    Cons:

    * Neon Colors: Not good at all. Need to switch to something softer. This also affected pop up rule/notes boxes, and they don't look good.

    * Image Quality: I suspect this is device specific, as I said, it's not a problem on my small moto E where I spend most of my time, but the tablet version was not good.

    My view:

The alliance button keeps getting in the way of me going to check my roster. The button in the bottom right corner used to be the most pressed button on the menu, now it is an alliance chat button. Dislike. I'm guessing you are trying to get more n00bs into alliances by making the alliance button more prominent, but I'm guessing that if they aren't joining an alliance it isn't because of the size of the button, but rather because you do a poor job of explaining to n00bs the benefits of joining an alliance... especially since there are no cons to joining... I would have joined one sooner, but I thought it meant that I would suddenly lose control of how I played and need to bend to the whim of the alliance captains (like in some other games).

The enormous buttons look terrible even on my 5s. I can't imagine how bad it must look on some of those tablet sized phones with even better resolution. (Side note, you remember how small the phones were in Zoolander? You know that the next movie is going to have them talking on smart phones the size of small monitors).

Don't cater to the users who have ancient technology. These aren't the whales you are looking for. If they had the money to buy stark salaries, they would probably be playing on a newer phone. Obviously they don't feel the lure of the big shiny, so stop catering to them.
  • This is from the android new version. If this were like an 8 bit remake game it would make more sense, but you take games like clash of clans, they would never make it look this muddy. icon_eek.gif
  • Yeah it's pretty bad. I was like umm duplo blocks now?

This is nonsense. You should always try to cast as big a net as possible, alienating existing users on "ancient" devices would be a bad move on their part, and even though I myself use a low end device, that hasn't stopped me from supporting the game itself through HP purchases.

Definitely prefer the older interface to this but if they can sort out the pixelated look will probably get used to it.

Could have sworn there was another thread about this but it seems to have disappeared.

    What do you mean?

When you get the daily rewards and you are not in an alliance, it tells you you can join an alliance to earn more Iso.
There's a separate tab in the Event Rewards screen just to list the prizes you can win by being in an alliance.
There were also the Ultron events which encouraged you to find an alliance to play with.
