  • Personally I found the Space Cadet mission to be more difficult than the final mission but that could be down to who I have on my roster. Took a few tries to get Space Cadet done, the AI kept getting amazing drops and was eating up pink tiles like they were going out of style. Ate a few whales to the face and it was all over. Tried going defensive only to have Moonstone steal my tiles in wave 2 and couldnt heal faster than they could spam Photonic Blasts and Sonic Booms. If you get out the blocks quick enough though it snowballs for them and you can roll through the later waves.

Final mission I did first try without breaking a sweat, thanks to Cap. Once he starts throwing his shield around its all over. Stun lock the main character in each wave and two Star Spangled Avengers later you revert to collecting AP for the next round. I brought Spidey with me for the extra protection and healing but turned out to be totally unnecessary. Used Ant-Man's yellow ability instead. Should have brought Patch along for some real mayhem.

Thanks for all the tips here. I finally got my Ant-Man cover last night. I failed the final mission at least 10 times, until I figured out how to properly play Ant-Man, and let him carry me. I brought my maxed 2* Captain America and OBW, who make up 2/3 of my DDQ Big Enchilada team. ( The third is normally Marvel Now! Thor ). My LCap needs more blue and red covers to be truly playable.

My icon_idea.gif moment was figuring out I should save up double the purple and blue AP needed for Ant-Man, to enable his Grow power. Grow was instrumental in one-shotting particularly troublesome foes like Doc Ock and Bullseye.

Very challenging, enjoyable event. Good job, Devs! The event allowed me relatively easy access to a fun new star.pngstar.pngstar.pngstar.png , but not until I was forced to learn how to use him. Bravo.

I can't even make it out of round 1 of Big Things One Day come without at least one casualty, usually more. My scaling puts them all at 145, and I have 4 (almost 5) maxxed 3 star guys and yet, since I can only use 2 and ant-man is at 70, he sucks. Or I haven't found him to be useful in the slightest. He has so few HP and his abilities are expensive.

I am really glad I have more time to work on it, and improve with EotS PVE going simultaneously because so far every single attempt has been miserably a failure.
I've been over my roster, I tried some suggestions bring lower level guys but of course that doesn't change the enemies from 145 and I've also tried starting on the goon who does flamethrower, since that is usually a brutal "one of my guys is going to be almost out" attack, but nothing has worked so far.

I've tried multiple times but have only made it to wave 3. I'm going against level 131 and I agree antman is weighing me down. I'm not sure where to go from here. I need some one who can heal and using Spider-Man and obw but my third guy I haven't figured out yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • coolchip10 you want to use in the 3rd mission at least Loki and Wolverine (Patch). Finally in the 5th mission you want to use Luke Cage and Captain America (Steve Rogers)

suggested roster is in my stream as I said earlier in the thread icon_mrgreen.gif

2*Cap/3*Cap rule survival waves, hood if you have 'em. OBW.

I have to build up my cap am...I have all covers for 2* and 10/13 for 3*. They're both low level though so I guess I'll save ISO and see what happens. I really want the antman cover....and to defeat this node...it's really making me mad! icon_evil.gif

    levels aren't as important....I used 118 cap/hood +loaner ant to defeat last node(last node was 145-145)

Yeah...my cap is at 48 lol. My hood 10/13 at 76. I really haven't been using either of these...been working on maxing my full 3*. The event has 26 days so this gives me plenty of time. I need to work on cap anyway. Thanks for the help.
  • um...I was grinding down growth industry for rewards when my first node went down 30 levels. I didn't lose...I mean patch died, but not gonna complain about easier nodes...

Does anyone know how people are getting 3631? I know points and placement don't matter but it's really bugging me.

    Edit:
It appears the 5 wave node is worth a point for some reason. I've gotten the hp from it so I won't be playing it again just to get that one point haha

I still reckon 30 days is rather stretching it. A week would be suffice. Guess there's really no harm having an extra (optional) event present.

It's to cover the length of the movie release. Makes perfect sense.

It's so a new player, attracted to the game because of the movie, has enough time to get the cover. When I mentioned my theory to an alliance mate, he said there was no way. Challenge accepted!

Busted out my dummy account (less than 3 weeks of actual play) and won an antman... Clearing the final node with 2* daken (level 64) and 2* wolverine (level 55)... Search for villains pve alliance, ign chef_salgy... Account is on day 20 of resupply...
  • The final node is a nightmare for me. I'm making the transition from 2* to 3*, so my roster is limitated to maxed 2* BUT i don't have captain and I see in this topic that all the guys that made it with 2* made it with him...

I tried OBW + wolvie but cannot survive the 3rd wave...

Any hints ? YT or Twitch links ?

    Thanks

I just noticed the top 2 players in my bracket have 3632 points, so maybe you get another point each time you beat that node, don't know that its good for anything but bragging rights
  • I think people too hastily finish off waves, not milking the last character in each wave.

Cap is really the MVP for these survival nodes, particularly if you love control. With Cap you stunlock the last enemy while you build up AP. Even if you only have one shield, if the enemy is taking 1 turn (with 1 guy) compared to your 3, you're going to come out ahead. Took more damage than a typical wave, but didn't really have problems.

@antiloop222 If X-Force + OBW isn't working, you could try OBW/Thor, relying on OBW's blue heal. Seems tough either way.

Like a bunch of people on this thread, I struggled with the last node. Scaling had the enemies around 132/133, which makes for some really annoyingly high goon damage while you're trying to take down the moving character. My roster is not strong on AP denial (only have 1 blue cover so far for Hood and I found the forums long after my 2 star transition so I didn't realize how great OBW is; putting ISO into her is on my ongoing to-do list); I tried a few teams with Loki but didn't get far. I also don't have a viable Cap America (no 2 star, and my 3 star is lacking quite a few blue covers).

I ended up using my 3* Cap Marvel (lvl 140, 3/5/5) and Hulk (lvl 117, 5/1/3). That allowed me to focus on purple, blue & yellow for Ant-Man, getting Ants! Ants! Ants and Pym Particles out as soon as I could, and letting Cap Marvel tank for red, yellow & black; her getting damaged would generate more red and black to use, and Hulk would tank green so I could kick off Anger if I needed him to take a hit.

Ant-Man just barely hung in there, but I made it:

Overall, it was a very fun challenge. Like PUM-SPAK said, it was a very clever way to force us to learn the proper way to use Ant-Man before winning the character.

That node recharges very slowly, full points in 6942 days (19 years) they did their second clear after had hit 2

Anyone tried to hit a node a 2nd time and not gotten 20 ISO? I think I've gone back for seconds 6-7 times across 3 different nodes and received 20 ISO every time.

    Is my luck that bad?

Really appreciate the insult to injury by raising the scaling after getting that 20 ISO too so that the next attempt is even harder. icon_mad.gif

I'm hitting this problem on the first and second node. I already completed all nodes within 45 minutes of it going live; got two of the 25 HP; then replayed the 4th node to win the remaining 25 HP. Now today I'm trying to clean up the ISO. I've replayed the first node 5 times now and just getting 20 ISO! I ran into this in Dark Reign twice. Had to play a node about 13 times to get all 4 rewards.

And the more I'm replaying, the harder it seems.

Hmm, I've played Small Business 8 times now. Still 20 ISO. Anyone get more than 1/4 rewards?

"Okay, Yeah They're Dolls" has been very generous and I've gotten all 4 there. "Inner Space Cadet", I'm 2/4. "Mustard Seeds of Destruction", I'm 3/4. "Small Business (Get It?)" has been very stingy, done that one quite a few times and I'm still 1/4. I haven't redone "Big Things One Day Come" yet. In fact, I kind of stopped playing this once the ant-man pve started for me. I'll probably pick it back and try to complete after this season ends.
