So what does the future of 3* drop rates look like then? I dislike rotations, but without them, the drop rates on individuals will keep going down as before. No one likes that.

It would make sense to me to continue to decrease 2* drop rates whenever individual 3* rates drop below a certain percentage (like 0.7%, or at least 0.5%).

EDIT: Ok, the "nerf" comments are cracking me up. This can be seen as a "nerf" to both 2* drop rates and 3* drop rates. Were 0% odds for out-of-rotation characters not a nerf to drop rates? There's no way around it, individual drop rates will always decrease over time. Demiurge did a great thing with DDQ, this is another opportunity for them to find fun ways to correct for character dilution. Maybe if you had some kind of vault...

    I like it.

Featured characters will still be featured.

The real problem is D3 needs to make characters guaranteed in 10/40 packs like everyone else does(*Cough* MTG *cough*)

That's how it used to be. They decided they would make more money by forcing people to buy multiple packs instead of guaranteeing them the essential character with a "cheap" purchase.

I was hoping they would bring back the multiple buffed characters. Lets hope that it doesn't lead to a week of the same teams in PVP though.

Except that's the only way you're going to be able to compete in PvP from here on out. Not using the boosted characters is just asking for your team to get farmed by others.

Yes and no. If you use the current avengers pvp as a gauge, are players really getting farmed for using non-boosted characters? From personal experience (fielding a xf/hood/loki defense, all non-boosted) the answer is no. Of course, it's an off season event, so things may change in a hurry come Thursday. We'll find out. icon_mrgreen.gif

I'm still a little mystified that they have a massive gap in the evening for East Coast players. Personally, 8 am is much, much better for me than 9 am, though 11 pm is at least semi-possible, which 12 am wasn't. I wish they'd have a 7-10 pm slot, though. Any of those would be better than anything we have. It makes no sense that one of the biggest gaps on the schedule is the evening for US players.

As an East Coast player who plays both pve/pvp events, pve ending at midnite worked better than ending earlier or later. Looks like I'll be picking 2 am ending times. I guess it's still better than a 4 am ending time (for end of season). icon_neutral.gif

We’ve made some updates to the events themselves too, streamlining them. We’ve standardized sub-event lengths to be 24 or 48 hours, combined sub-events in places where two were running concurrently, and standardized rewards across sub-events.

    Old Story: 9a / 3p / 6p / 12 midnight / 3a
    New Story: 7a / 12 noon / 5p / 11p / 2a

Just so I'm clear, with 12/36 hour sub lengths gone and sub-events now normalized to 24/48 hours going forward, end sub times also means that PVE subs will start at those times too right? I like the sub normalization, I just need to adjust to the new start times too, was kinda hoping you'd go the other way on them honestly.

true, stockpiling to wait for a vaulted character to be unvaulted isn't useful anymore..unless your stockpiling just because you're a hamster icon_e_smile.gif

*looks at his stockpile of 700+ standard tokens* cheee-cheee! icon_lol.gif
  • Hmm not really sure what to think about the weekly buffed characters.... even more that it's for pve AND pvp... meaning you'll have to use those for both icon_e_confused.gif
How does that work with essentials characters in pve ? Are they counted in the 11 buffed characters ? Or we won't need the previous rewarded character to play the essentials on the next pve ?

Subs lasting 24h or 48h that's great... I was going to get angry with the time changes but it would have been troublesome for me only if some subs were lasting 12h actually...
No more 2 subs running at the same time is awesome !

No more break between pve is harsh... not sure I'll be able to stay top 20 if I can't grind much at the end of an event without worrying about keeping some health packs and my guys alive. I wish we could have at least a day off between pve tbh...

Higher chances to drop a 3 stars in packs is nice ! Sadly for me I opened all of them yesterday and only got 2 stars icon_lol.gif

Same boosted characters across all events with no recovery period between them is a terrible idea
  • With regards to your first point, were we told the Iso reduction was happening May 1st? I thought they just said with R75, and forumites hypothesized that would occur around May 1st?

Must be the magic of the new matchmaking. All I'm seeing are Cage/LT/Fury or GT or LCap. If I saw any non-boosted teams, I'd be hitting them 8 days a week.

In general I like the changes, but I'll say the same, there needs to be a break between PVEs or at least please no more back to back new character PVEs.

    Thanks for the updates.
  • R75 has always been estimated for around May 6th. Depends on first party approval, but should be in no later than May 8th, to my understanding.

They're not gonna give us a break,

What, are you telling me you have other things to do besides MPQ 24/7? icon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gif

Apparently breaks will come in the form of server outages and disappearing events.

Smoke 'em if ya got 'em.

  • The changes sound pretty good, but any word on outages?

I've been having a bear of a time connecting and staying connected, up to about 2 minutes ago...

With 7.6% chance of Scarlet Witch in a 42x, they imply that you get 3 of her. And with the posted odds in total, you should get 12 *** or better rewards.

Instead, I got only one SW and only 9 *** total. No **** or special rewards. Plus it was full price $100. One 42x alone is more than XBOX/PC games with Season Pass DLC. So yes, for $100, you should get better guarantees. They should give you one of each color. You would still need 10 more covers to complete them. Either that or the prize packs should be 1/5th the cost or real odds much better.

    Best solution:
Packs generated on the server should meet some threshold minimum criteria or be thrown out and regenerated.

Because I frequently get the shaft. I spent $200 on featured Squirrel Girl packs and got ZERO.

You are the hero MPQ deserves, but not the one it needs right now.
