Changes Coming For 4/30/15

orbitalint wrote:Can I just put my vote in that the scheduled pve time changes are pretty bad for a working person on the east coast. There is no time slot with 24/48 hour subs that you can play at the end of a sub/to start a new one except maybe the 11pm slot? Everything else is in the middle of sleep or work... And even then, not planning on staying up to midnight for first passes.
9am was great. Can you bring it back please?
I'm still a little mystified that they have a massive gap in the evening for East Coast players. Personally, 8 am is much, much better for me than 9 am, though 11 pm is at least semi-possible, which 12 am wasn't. I wish they'd have a 7-10 pm slot, though. Any of those would be better than anything we have. It makes no sense that one of the biggest gaps on the schedule is the evening for US players.0 -
I would have liked to know about the increase in 3*s before opening my season 13 rewards, but I guess that's my own fault.
The death of 12h and 36h subs are great news. Picking a good end time for the event often meant you had bad ending times for half the subs. The removal of 2 subs running simultaneously might be the best news since DDQ. The Hunt especially was just the most painful event of all, and I'm glad it will never be run in its current form again.
The changes to the ending times don't really seem necessary. I was fine with the times we had, but I'm sure I'll find a slice that fits me well.
The complete death of PvE downtime is bad news, though. Since the removal of the half days in PvE obviously meant the 12h rest had to go, I would have preferred a switch to a 1 day break over the removal of the break.0 -
Roster slot prices still not addressed
No changes to MMR in PvP and more silly, buffed characters means....
I won't be playing MPQ this month (besides the daily deadpool).0 -
I originally started to type this in the Reply to Demiurge_Miles's post but it was running too long so I decided to create a separate Topic/Discussion. I hate to make all my posts sound like I am complaining, I have concerns over such changes. While most players appreciate my feedback, others like to give me negative votes, which are both fine.
4/30 Patch Thoughts
I am much disappointed about the lack of ISO reduction for this patch as we were told it would be in the 5/1 patch. At least give us some information. I am sitting on 300k of ISO. It would be great if they can at least give us an idea of the maximum level you can reach before the ISO is back to the normal ISO rate.
Glad to see everyone returns to tokens, I hope this means Devil Dino returns, I have been stuck with the useless 0/0/4 (yes that's pink!). While they stated the 3* pull is increased, when they stated that a month ago they also reduced the 4* pull. I hope this is not happening again. Please reduce the 2*'s percentage a bit now that everyone is in the token. Keep in mind that new 3*, 4* and maybe future 2* (Cyclops perhaps?) will be added as well. Would vaulting return? I did not mind vaulting once DDQ was implemented.
I do not recall anyone in the forums stating they enjoyed the multiple buffed characters in PVP so I don't know where this feedback came from. If you're going to buff Loki and Hood at the same time again then expect to see Loki, Hood and Featured character for the week. Hopefully they don't simply buff characters drawn from a hat.
Looking at the End Times, I don't think any of these will work for me. You based the feedback on a measly 82 players that a player posted. If you had an official poll from a developer then you would likely had a greater participation from the players as this would ultimately affect us, but to simply use a poll from a player does not sound right. I didn't vote on the poll because like probably most of us, thought it wouldn't mean much. Hopefully these new End Times work out for me specifically but I had just gotten use to the current format. I wish you would of added an additional 2 time slices to try to accommodate everyone instead.
Lastly the end of 12 hour subs. While I understand a majority of the player base hated it, I loved it. It was much easier on scaling and I would win a ton of tokens. Scaling affects us the longer the sub is open such as those lovely 48 hour subs in Prodigy Sun. 12 Hour subs enabled me to beat each node twice, maybe three times without having to worry about returning to the node to see the enemy level increase dramatically. Also having 2 subs run at the same time meant.. more tokens! I'm curious to see how they address PVE that contains a Normal & Hard sub. You cannot simply combine them plus I don't want to be stuck only playing on a Hard sub, I liked being able to play as much as I could on the Hard sub then completing the Normal sub. Furthermore.. I liked the additional tokens, unless they are extending the reward structure, we're all going to fight in the same pool for 1-2 tokens instead of having the separate subs. Again, I know most of you wanted this change so I am happy that the developers listened to this particular feedback.
Hopefully these changes aren't as bad as I think they will be. I will be optimistic that all these changes will help us in our favor overall. What are your thoughts on this? Good? Bad? I enjoying seeing others thoughts and opinions.0 -

Thanks for communicating the changes. Can you clear up a math question for me?Demiurge_Miles wrote:Higher Chances of 3-stars in Packs
The percentage of the 1x Heroic pack that is 3-Star covers goes from about 23% to about 28% of the pack.
Pretty sure they're using the same stale math they used the last time they updated the cover packs.

Or is it 23% total (meaning 20.6%/2.4%). Either way is welcome, just want clarification.
I botched the math on this in my initial post - corrected, and sorry about that.
The 3-star odds are increasing less than that, to 18.6%, and the 4-star odds remain unchanged at 2.3%, so 20.9% total 3-star + 4-star odds.0 -

Ya think!?

Yes! This please. Now that the ending times are standardized, just have a 24 hour break between events. There is still DDQ, pvp and sim to do for those that don't want a break.0 -
In Eastern time:
Old Versus: 10a / 4p / 7p / 1a / 4a (or 10p / 4a / 7a / 1p / 4p)
New Versus: 8a / 1p / 6p / 12 midnight / 3a
New versus only have one end time, no (xxxxxxxxx) does this mean 2 day events or 3 day events or 12 hours between events?0 -
New end Times are OP...
They Need to Be NERFED!

Deadpool Daily Quest and Standard (500 Iso-8) packs aren’t affected by this change.
All 3-Stars Return to Packs
Now that we’ve got room for them, as of 4/30, all 3-Star characters will be returning to heroic and event packs.
The increased proportion of new character releases that are 4-stars, a number of increases to the rate at which 3-stars are earned, and the increased availability of Hero Points mean that we can dispense with character rotation.
This means those with their 3*s covered, except for new characters, are getting nerfed here right? Am I in the minority wishing they kept vaulted characters? There hasn't been a character vaulted yet that I actually needed, so the system was helping me sift out unneeded covers. I'll have an increased ratio to get a 3*, but with all of them in it is more likely it will be one I don't need now.0 -

Current pull rate is 18.6%, which is 0.31% per cover (0.93% per character).
Assuming +5% (I don't trust their 28%, see my other posts), that's 23.6%, divided over now 38 characters, which is 0.621% per character. Which means individual character pull rates are nerfed by 50%.
Even if 28% is accurate, it's a ~21% nerf.0 -
Thanks, grumpy smurf! I was wondering if I'm just a grumpy old man, but I fail to see anything good in this set of changes.
The chances of getting a specific hero are dropping considerably.
Weekly boosted heroes and the new mmr means more heroes are needed and more money must be spent on roster slots and health packs.
Endless PVE... 'nuff said.
I'm based in Europe, so the new end times are basically a big middle finger in my face.
Why the hell are you guys so excited? Please explain.0 -

only if you're really looking hard to see it as a nerf. those of us who have most covers for most 3* will probably not benefit from this, but it's a nice change for those who still need more than a handful of characters. and let's not forget that in the current system you have exactly 0% chance to get a cover of the vaulted characters, so it's a major buff for them0 -

This is a fair point. Characters going from 0% to .62% is a notable rise.
So really it's a nerf to stockpiling tokens to increase the odds of the characters you do want/need.0 -

true, stockpiling to wait for a vaulted character to be unvaulted isn't useful anymore..unless your stockpiling just because you're a hamster0 -

Assuming all the other math is correct it would be a 33% smaller chance of pulling a specific character (.93 to .62). At 28% 21-22% decrease would be right.0 -
If anything there should be a 12 hour gap between the end of the last slice and the beginning of the new event. Do you just willfully ignore all the complaints about being unable to change slice times due to not receiving the rewards of the previous PvE (which are now the essentials)? Don't forget that alliance rewards won't go out until then too.
Am I the only one boosting every PvP match from 0 to whatever? With character overlap (last week in 3 events simultaneously) I couldn't afford to take any damage and with the removal of seed teams I was facing moderate resistance at the start. If it weren't for Ultron spitting out ISO I probably would've been down several thousand from regular play. PvP is the least fun I've had in forever. Matches take forever, you're basically guaranteed to use one kit per match and because everyone is quitting / playing less there are no targets worth more than 19 points at 800+. You can't even shield hop anymore unless you're coordinating with top alliances on LINE.
P.S. I like how Bullseye has 50% more HP to increase the chances of him doing 2k+ damage from crits. I'm sure players are utilizing him just as well in PvP to get massive scores.0 -
Less Moonstones?
I like the break between PVE's. Gave me a chance to say Hi to the wife, and get to know my kids again... they grow up so fast... j/k... though I did like having a small break in between them.
I wonder if you could throw in a blank cover that allows you to choose your 3* character that you need. You hit the odds of getting a 3*, now let us pick one we want. You could even give it the odds of a 4*... just so we have a shot at choosing who we get as our prize.0 -
Current token hoard:
600 Standard (these may just keep growing until a batch open feature is instituted)
34 Heroic
5 Heroic 10-pack
Only 3* characters I need covers for at this point: Kamala - 4/4/5 - need a purple. SWitch - 1/1/1. Bagsilver - 1/5/5. Squirrel Girl 4/5/4 - need green.
Given that two are new, I was hoping to be able to open a bunch and have slightly better chances of getting covers. Chances will be decreased on Thursday. Sure, the overall chance that whatever cover it is that I don't need will be worth a little more ISO is nice. But I'm at 1.3 million ISO because there hasn't been much need to level anyone, and then when I was about to mass level a few, we got the memo about upcoming ISO reductions, so I'm still in a holding pattern.
Matches are taking longer with health buffs, damage nerfs to Goddess and XForce, and the ridiculous MMR that has seen me fight nothing but maxed teams (no more seeds even) the entire pvp. On top of that we will now be looking at multple buffs again in PVP. I very much hope they won't all be top tier like the first time (Patch/Hood/Loki), but even then it's going to basically be the same couple teams each week.
I get that some of these changes are good for the game as a whole. They're not all good for me or my desire to keep playing the game though.0 -

And that will go down slightly with every new release.
The 4* pool draw rate needs some attention as well - back when there were half as many 4* in the packs the rates were 2.3% total, and now they look more like 2.12% total, so with 2 more 4* coming in that knocks down the draw rate to 0.23% per 4*.0
