Exactly what I've been saying. Incentivizing not playing is a broken system. But I guess not playing and still winning costs HP, and HP costs money, and here we are.

I don't like to be that cynical. I genuinely believe that people that make games do it so people will play them. Otherwise, the good money is in programming accounting software or spyware for retail chains. The evidence is undeniable though, since they have created a system where spending $8 to not play is the winning strategy. That, or sitting out and making a push late, since all but 2 of the top 10 in my bracket from yesterday have been bumped out.

I made a run with about 40 minutes to go in this event...I went from over 100 to finishing 25th. I tried to gamble and go for top 15 to get my 5th blue Spiderman cover, but I got attacked 4 times for 82 points...That pretty much ended my run.

I was fighitng for 5th when I was 7th but a bad cascade happened so I retreated before the round ended. No idea how far I dropped yet.

The general consensus is to keep the yellow at 3. All you're going to do is lower the cost from 11 to 9, and generally you'll have a bunch of web tiles out when you're going to use it. At that point, you can probably stun the entire team and grab two extra yellow AP.

Before, people brought his yellow up to 5 because the purple was almost unusable. Now, his purple is REALLY good. 3/5/5's the way to go.

I'm currently sitting at 4/3/5 after this tourney I expect i'll have 4/4/5 yes blue is the best skill he currently has but I figure that with this way i'll still have a reasonable build both are and post Nerf (unless of course they relegate him to bag status and piss off every Spidey lover in the process)

I have a 5/5/3 spiderman and didn't regret it.

I do agree that 3/5/5 is more survivable, but 5/5/3 is not without his merits.

One, you only need 3 matches for heal. Two, you won't slow down the other chars that need yellow, like IM40 and Thor.

There are some rounds where having 9 heal would have been awesome. But usually that's for me to heal into the next round (never within a round). But having tiles that reduce damage to nothing? That's awesome.

I wish they would give out info on their planned Spidey nerf so players could adjust accordingly.

My first top finish in PVP. Started playing about a month ago and my highest is a lvl81. Just got into a really easy bracket I think, none of the top 10 rosters had a single lvl100+ char, and #8 and #9 both had lvl50 ironman 35 as their highest.

I wouldn't have been mad. 1-45 gets 100 HP and 250 ISO, so the only difference for me between 45 and 5 would be an extra 50 HP and 300 ISO.

I know he'll be changed by then but if he wasn't I think Spidey would be at the top of my respec list. 5 in yellow is great. 5 in purple is awesome.
