How to beat the Big Enchilada with 2 Star team

2* Thor,Magneto, Storm. Wave 1: Collect relevant ap, while possibly leaving minion ap colors untouched (ninjas red, hitman blue/yellow, iso-mutants purple/blue), so you can match cd tiles away, if need arises. Use Storm green, Magneto red/purple to clear cd's and collect ap, as needed. You should have around 22 blue, 9 purple for wave 2. Three Windstorms later, in wave 3, just leisurely collect ap, using Magnetic Flux/Storm green until you have 30 of green/blue/yellow/red. In wave 4, about two to three Windstorms, two Call the Lightnings later, collect your gold cover.0

I feel like a significant outlier here. Like many, I use OBW and 2thor. However, my third is Bullseye(DA). Why? If I happen to take a hit or two, I have protects, but mostly because his black keeps me from being down a color. Really, the third slot is just a bonus, anyway.
I also use a weird OBW build. 553 for DPD, since I like to steal everything and have plenty of chance to build purple on minion rounds.0 -
I did not create this strategy, I found it here in this forum presented in various forms and on multiple threads, including multiple times in this one. I'm putting it down here with some explanations and depth with the hope that it's useful to some people going through the transition phase.
Apologies for the length!
Thor 3/5/5, OBW 3/5/5, Storm 5/5/3, all level 94
***NOTE: It's important that you line them up in this order - Thor = middle, OBW = left, & Storm = right. At level 94, OBW and Storm both do 49 damage with tiles. Having OBW in the left spot gives her the tiebreaker and allows for her to be the one collecting AP. This triggers her espionage, allowing you to steal AP from the opponent if they have any AP themselves and to also do extra damage. ***
They are best at max, because they can survive a couple hits in case you end up having to take a few to the face. That said, pretty sure that you can pull it off with characters at level 65-70 with a couple of good breaks. I utilized this team for at least 40 days. In that time, I wiped twice, both times because Turn To Smoke overwhelmed me. I was able to defeat it after healing each time though. I still run this exact team, except now I have a Thor instead of the . They CRUSH it.
Wave 1 - Gather as much AP as you can. Prioritize the colors as follows - , , , , , , . The goons vary quite a bit here, so how you strategize your play may shift a little bit, but your color priorities will remain the same. You want to get OBW's & AP built to fire her skills as quickly as possible. You don't need to fire them right away, but it's a good safety net to have them both ready at a moment's notice. Always keep an eye on how much AP the goons have and when the time is right, fire off OBW's to steal as much AP as you can. In the case that the CD tiles are getting overwhelming, fire off her . Do your best to avoid this if you can; you want to bring as much into the next round as you can. During the course of the fighting, if you have a lot of , you can fire off Thor's if you need to also. Just be sure to save enough so that you can trigger Thor's to KILL the last goon of the round. This part is crucial. If you kill the goon by making a match, the opponent team has the first move of the next round and may be able to fire off some powers against. The effect of this against a can mean a wipe, depending on who the opponent is.
Wave 2 - Hopefully, your first round went exactly as planned. You smashmouthed the last goon of the previous round with Thor's and you have the first move of the round. Ideally, you have built up some good AP. , , and are your best friends here. Before you make a move, assess who your opponents are. Put either the strongest one OR the one who has enough AP to fire off a dangerous skill in the lead position. Fire Storm's . This damages the whole team and will stun that lead character. If you have plenty of , you can go ahead and do this again with the next strongest opponent. (Be sure that you save enough to have OBW's ready to cue up immediately in Wave 3. This is another safety net routine to avoid coming up against CD tiles that you have no means of defending against.) After you've stunned one or two opponents, or if you didn't have enough to fire that skill at all, check how much & AP you have. You want to get a back and forth going between Thor's & Storm's . Thor fires his , hopefully generating a lot of and cascades and criticals, Storm then gathers everything of the board with her , hopefully catching enough yellow to repeat the process. Thor's is an ability that can be fired at will during the wave and you can also use 's as needed. If all goes right, you should have crushed this wave without the opposing team taking even a single turn.
Wave 3 - The strategy is essentially the same as Wave 1, the exception being that you can utilize some of the other skills you have in your arsenal. This depends entirely on how much AP you have in the bank. AP maxes out at 30 per color. If you have 30, it's sometimes a good idea to go ahead and use that skill once, so as not to waste collecting it. If you're new to this strategy, it is best not to deviate from the basic plan. Again, be sure that you kill the last goon of the wave with Thor's .
Wave 4 - By this point, almost every color be at 30. Line up the opponent character with the most HP in the lead position. Fire Storm's . Move to the next strongest, and do it again. After doing this twice, put whoever has the most HP in the lead spot. Fire Thor's . If anyone is left standing after this, put the character with the most HP in the lead spot and fire Thor's again. This should easily wipe out the opposing team and net you your highly desired cover of the day. If you don't have the exact amount of AP to do things in this order, you can follow the same basic strategy as Wave 2 - into .
Experience will tell you how to vary this up, but this basic strategy is tried and tested over and over again. Not just by me, but by many MPQ players. The other strategies mentioned in this thread are also effective. It's really up to you and your play style.
For me, I love the feeling of getting the chain going, doing damage with Thor and creating all kinds of cascades and then breaking half the board, creating more cascades AND getting all the AP with Storm!!!
Good luck.0 -
Problem with the Thor, OBW, Storm team is if you get a goon team that fires something quick, you're on the defense right away, and you can do nothing about it. Pistol can decimate Storm and OBW in 3 shots or so, and if you get a sniper rifle in there, well.. today was the "easy" goons starting with a Hitman, Thug, and a Doombot, and got wiped out quick as I couldn't get enough pink and blue fast enough to do anything about the clocks.
ISO freaks may be easier as their stuff doesn't hurt as much.
Ninjas - forget about it. I pretty much skip those otherwise I'm breaking stuff around the house. Ninjas plus Hitmen may be even worse, as strike tiles plus those smoke tiles make me Hulk up.
For me, the most consistent winner is still Mags,Thor,OBW. Play it safe, generate blue with pinks, and match away the blues with Mags. The random reds that come with it usually match some other stuff away, and I'm good to go after round 1 every time. Even with ninjas. Sometimes.0 -
2* Thor Storm and Magneto is still the de facto best team for survival waves of any variety up until you can swap 2* Thor for his 3* version. In the first run of Enemy of the State I took that exact team, none of the characters powered up, and with no boosts, through 3 full runs of the Black Hole mission while it was bugged to loop infinitely. Just play smart and if you're really nervous boost blue/purple. You're using Thor entirely for Thunder Strikes to fuel 2* Storm's Lightning Strike ability to generate nearly endless supplies of AP in every color. Note that your builds for these characters should be x/5/x 2* Thor, 5/5/3 2* Storm and 3/5/5 2* Magneto. As long as you play smart there is no way you should lose. I've been using that team for over 300 days and it's still about the best thing out there. Cleared the gauntlet last time around using almost nothing but those three. Good times. Magneto's red generates up to 24 ap when it goes off, lightning strike at 5 covers generates as much as you have green when you fire it, and the board control of Magneto's purple and the Wind Storm stuns, it's a cake walk.0

The first team I found that reliably worked for me was 2* Thor, 2* Human Torch, and 2* Black Widow.
I chose Torch as the third for his Red and Black damage. I used a 3/5/5 Thor.
This gives reliably strong damage in Yellow/Green from Thor, Red/Black from Torch, and Black Widow has great Blue/Purple abilities obviously.
As others have stated, use the waves of goons to stockpile AP for your damage abilities, then unload on the heroes, stock pile on goons, unload on heroes.
Glad to see so many other combinations work though. This was just my most reliable combo.0 -
I have been going with Mags/Thor/OBW without much trouble.
I find that OBW- delay in countdown tiles is huge and gives me more time to accumulate colors for the boss waves. Magneto feeds her his blue through his purple and does serious damage with his red.
The only issue im having is with today's DDQ- when you have Muscle and Shinobi's ......ouchie.0 -

Yeah, I have the same team with the same problem. Muscle or primarily ninjas in wave 1 means either I lose enough health for the other waves to not be beatable or I can't save up for the boss wave.
One thing I need to get in the habit of doing is going in with a team of low end 3*s first to see who the first wave is before sending in my main team to see if it's worth the effort.0 -
What I've been using to win the past few enchiladas:
2*Storm 71 (4/5/4)
2*Mags 50 (0/4/4)
The stormneto combo is essential to my strat.
Either
2*Thor 70 (3/2/5)
2*OBW 72 (3/5/4)
It runs really smoothly for the most part and you really just need to watch out for the first wave's dangerous cd's, otherwise they both work well. No boosts or specific teamups needed either. Thor is good for access to dmg in different colors and OBW can tank for my storm. I thought I would have trouble being underleveled, but even when my mags was lvl 38 it was surprisingly smooth.
I actually had OBW die on the first wave today from some unfortunate cd tiles, but stormneto carried me the rest of the way for the win.0 -
5 5 3
Damage and freezing opponents
5 3 5
Generating blue ap along with criticals and other ap. Board movement. Do not use his blue.
Red takes 1 turn to activate and generates up to 24 ap of surrounding colors.
5 3 5
Reduces damage taken, during the above 2, they just may produce criticals and he has access to a black active power. One of 3 characters in the tier who have one. His has the most damage potential of nearly any move in his tier, and possibly higher damage then most 3 star characters. Use the criticals to create 5 matches,
ideally you want to use them in this way.
Essentially you get damage as if you just did 2, 5 matches at once, with a double crit bonus attached.
It usually deals a few thousand. with two other crits on board, this would deal 10K + this damage. Essentially eliminating two in a wave.
Round 1
Main goal- Reach 30 blue ap
Purple matches reduce enemy teams damage slightly, but most importantly is to use Magnetos purple to build up criticals for blue. Because your team is 2 star, most days you will not be killing things too fast. is an awesome AP build. Destroys a 5 x 5 block (ap from all) and deals 2K damage. If its in the corner it will destroy less.
Green Ap should be used on lightning unless bulleyes green can make an easy critical.
End the round by casting a power of sort if possible. (if you use either or be sure to have the other power availible)
Round 2
Whirlwind ( storm) each opponent from most to least dangerous. each whirlwind costs 11 and deals 1800~ damage each cast. Freezes chosen target.
If you have an extra magneto move, you can get enough AP to immediately cast another whirlwind. If not aim for a match, or to defeat the unfrozen opponent.
Round 3
Rebuild Ap. It's vital to build ap reserves to 30 for whirlwind here, by now you likely also have a available. Use them. The most important thing exiting this round is 30 ap and at least 9 .
Round 4
Repeat round 2.0 -
Thanks for the replies in this thread, with the level of the opponents I always figured I would need to have my 2* characters at 94. In the end I did it with 69 OBW (3/5/3), 69 Thor (5/4/4) and 50 Bullseye (4/5/4)
This made sure OBW would tank the purple, black and blue icons, so she could keep the team alive and up the cooldowns of the tiles with blue, deny abilities with purple, and fill the black color as a filler for Bullseye for extra crit icons.
With the matches done by Thor's colors you will also be able to keep up his abilities in rotation by creating extra colors. This way you even can spend some colors during waves 1/3 (used them mostly when I would max out an color and there would be enough time left).
Bullseye is there for his protection tiles and I wanted a usefull black spender, so making nice combinations with dual critical tiles, was actually great for additional damage.
I am happy that this worked and that I got my second Magneto *** cover Time to try again more often.
edit: well, today it was impossible, shame since I would have loved that green storm cover0 -
I always used 2* Storm, OBW and 2* MsMarvel. With these three I go through without taking any damage almost every time. The exception is bad luck, or the Ninjas. I win against the Ninjas about 3/4 of the time, but almost never get through without taking at least some damage.
All colors are covered. Storm's green move and Ms Marvel's yellow can both clear out any kind of special tile. They're both random, but they work pretty often for me. Storm's blue move is of course the big hitter, but Ms Marvel's black move is a pretty good team attack as well. I use Ms Marvel's relatively low cost red move to be the final hit on waves 1 and 3, so I start 2 and 4 with my turn. OBW blue move is only used in emergencies, as the blue is prioritized for Storm. If there is a countdown that is going to be a big hit, and I can't take it out any other way, then OBW's blue is used. If it's a small hit, I let it go and keep the AP. Of course her Purple move should be used to keep their AP down or to boost yours. I only use it when I am close to having enough for a power, or when I am about to end Waves 1 or 3. Since 1 and 3 are countdown only, there isn't as much of a need to keep AP from them.
It goes Wave 1: Mostly just do matches for damage. Ms Marvel's yellow is used if countdowns are getting numerous and there are a decent amount of team up tiles already. Otherwise Storm's green move to try to take out the countdowns (and gain some AP) if the board is mostly colored tiles. Always end wave 1 with Ms Marvel's red or a 5 of a Kind match. If neither is available, end with any power that you can, besides Storm's blue. Keep the AP if it comes to that. I would do as many weak matches as I could until a power can be used, even if that means staying in wave 1 longer.
Wave 2: Fire off Storm's blue, targeting whoever is most dangerous of the three to stun. Ideally you've maxed out blue, can fire it off twice, use OBW's purple to gain enough to fire it off a third time and have all three stunned. Ms Marvel's black should be used to aid in damage, but make sure it is the last power used. It takes 3 AP from another color and you don't want it to stop you from being able to do a different power too. This wave should end without them getting a turn 90% of the time.
Wave 3: Repeat Wave 1 steps. Wave 3 is easier because you usually have some AP left from 2, so you're not starting from scratch. Build AP by doing matches. All colors are used, so go for whatever color provides the best cascade/4 or 5 of a kind you can see. Remember, finish the wave with a power or 5 of a kind.
Wave 4: Repeat Wave 2. This should be even easier as I am usually close to 30 AP in Blue, Black, Purple and Red (green and yellow are used to keep countdowns at bay) which provides more than enough fire power to end without them getting a turn.0 -
I completed the Big Enchilada with 2* Storm, 2* Magneto and 2* Black Widow for the first time yesterday.
The hint that kept me alive was using Anti-Gravity Device from allowing countdowns to fire.
Thanks everyone!0 -

That unique ability of hers ensures that she is valuable pretty much forever, even once you're past 2* rosters.0 -
I used:
Original Black Window in front so she can steal Purple and Blue, the blue I use for Captain America.
Captain America to cover the countdown tiles with Red and Blue.
Thor to knock the **** out of the enemy with Yellow and Green. I save these up and use them for Round 2 and 4. They never get a shot off.
Never lost with this combo.
Boosted Red Yellow, Green Black, Purple Blue.0 -
Cap's shields are good because they return the AP, but don't forget you can use OBW's blue to bounce multiple countdown tiles in case they get out of hand.0
-
I use OBW, Storm and Thor. OBW in the middle so that the blue attack steals blue AP.
Waves 1 and 3 the objective is to save AP (specially Blue and Green), and then waves 2 and 4 I usually just do combos of Storm Blue + Thor Red + Yellow + Storm Green. Also I tend to use OBW's blue quite often to avoid the countdown tiles to hit me.
Usually finish without taking damage (except when the ninjas drop those attack tiles)0 -
I use 2Thor, Mag and Storm. The cd attack tiles I most hate to see are the red ones - they come fast and furious and the AP from them are not very useful. For example yesterday in the first wave, by about the third move, it started to lay down Strength in Numbers every turn, which when allowed to go off deals 2400 dmg. The first time I missed a tile and lost Storm, so quit. The next time the board was a bit better, I was able to match away all the reds in the first wave. But then third wave there was red Meteor Hammer, and black Black Arts. In the end only Storm survived by hanging on a thread and cleared the last wave with blue and green. Also need to use 2 TUs - Juggs and Bullseye.
Will give OBW a try next time.0 -
A really interesting topic and originally I hadn't seen this forum until I got into the game more and started looking for answers to some of my questions but I did the big enchilada before coming here and I didn't use any of the teams listed. I used 2* Thor, Torch and Mags. My method was to have 5 covers on thor's yellow, torch's green, mags blue. I would farm as much greens as I could on the first wave including firing thor's yellow where I could and then I would start placing multiple Torch greens, firstly start with 2 and then aim for 3 by round 3. This skill maxed does 1200 damage per turn and with thor's green often keeping ap over 20 it does serious damage with 2 or more. You may have to replace them if Thor matches them but the volume of green keeps up with that.
Mags blue maxed out destroys the whole board which can cause some serious cascades but just keeps countdown tiles in check. Won't help you in the first round but controls the third round well. Mags purple is what I use to carry across the rounds dealing the last bit of damage and making a match 5 to give me control.
Torch's red and black are bonus skills , the black is extra damage each turn and the red is to assassinate anyone with enough ap in the last round to cast their skills.0 -
I know this particular topic is about 2* strategies, but when I first started doing the DDP Big Enchilada, I used a team of 1*s:
1* Hawkeye
1* Black Widow
1* Storm
Waves 1 and 3 were about Building as Much as AP as possible by only selectively using powers.
Hawkeye Red/Storm Green to get rid of CDs or Attack Tiles if Necessary, or killing the last mob with Storm Yellow/Hawkeye Purple so that when even Waves start, it is still considered your turn. For this strategy to work, you need to go into even rounds with 27-30 Blue AP. (As a side note, if you stun a ninja before you kill them, they can't use the "Turn to Smoke" ability.)
Waves 2 and 4: use 1* Black Widow's Blue Power first turn on whichever target you intend to focus, stunning it for five turns, and the other two for 1 turn. Make a match. Switch targets and stun that one for five turns. Make a match, stun remaining opponent for 5 turns. Focus fire on target for remaining 3 stun turns. Goal is to build up 9-27 blue ap using matches, 1* Hawkeye Purple, and 1* Storm Green before the first mob unfreezes. It's not easy, but it is doable. It becomes even easier as you kill 1 or 2 of the opponents to keep the rest perma-stunned. You may take a hit or two here and there, but it usually isn't an insta-kill.0
