How to beat the Big Enchilada with 2 Star team

how you use it depends on what the situation calls for. if you are needing blue hp or there are blue cds that you can't match naturally, you could theoretically use the purple to add 9 blue ap and take a cd or 2 out. if you aren't starved for blue ap or if the board is saturated with red, you could go for a cascade or make a match 4 or 5 that might start something for you. mags is a great utility player - love his purple and red. blue is still meh, but I can live with that.0

My 2* Enchilada killing team:
Hawkeye (maxed Purple), Cap (maxed Blue, Red), Thor (maxed Yellow, Green).
This team often finishes taking no damage.
Wave 1 - focus on Red and Blue matches until you have Cap powered up. Use Cap to take out timers. Favor using Blue to make the stage last as long as possible and start charging up Yellow and Green. Avoid making 5 match combos - you do not want Quickshot to proc yet as you are using Wave 1 to charge up as much as possible. Ideally you finish Wave 1 using Cap Red or Blue that ALSO creates a 5 match, triggering Quickshot and starting Wave 2.
Wave 2 - focus on lowest HP enemy (unless Deadpool is there, in which case focus on him to avoid Life of the Party). Trigger Thor Green until out followed by Thor Yellow until out. With a little luck Thor Yellow will trigger more Quickshot. You should be able to knock out at least one enemy by this point. Use Cap Blue to stun the others. Quickshot should down them before they recover.
Wave 3 - same as Wave 1. By the end of Wave 3 you should have all AP maxed.
Wave 4 - same as Wave 2, except now you can also sell out on Red and Blue Cap powers to trigger additional Quickshots as needed.
Enjoy!0 -
In case people aren't aware, there's currently a bug with Teisatsu Turn to Smoke triggering whenever a downed Teisatsu would take damage, whether from cascades you got to down him, or from AoE used on something else. (The correct behavior is that Turn to Smoke will trigger once, and only once, and that was when the Teisatsu is first downed.) This is genuinely deadly for the unprepared.
I've made a partial switch to 3*, having replaced Captain Marvel with Luke Cage, keeping Magneto and Storm. Here's a few notes from my two fights against Teisatsus:
- Storm has the potential to be your worst enemy. Let say your wave 1 is three Teisatsus. You down one with a regular match, which cascades to make three more matches, and Turn to Smoke triggers four times to spawn eight attack tiles. The eight attack tiles hit any one of your character, triggering Storm's and setting off Turn to Smoke one more time off the downed Teisatsu. This happens every turn. Obviously this has the potential to end the game very quickly for you.
- My original team (Marvel/Mags/Storm) are board shakers. Board shaking can be a very bad way to kill Teisatsu because of the cascades mentioned. Try to kill Teisatsu either with a match that you know for sure won't lead to cascades, or a skill that does not shake the board. Storm's , Marvel's and would be examples for my team (although watch out for Wind Storm hitting downed Teisatsu and setting off Turn to Smoke).
- Assuming you survived the Teisatsu round, board shake becomes your best friend once again. Shake the board often to get rid of attack tiles. With me having switched to Luke Cage, I had one less option to shake the board, but between Storm's and Magneto's (and if you're genuinely desperate, Magneto's ), eventually the board will be clear of attack tiles.
Good luck, and may the bug be resolved soon so that we can return to our regularly scheduled beating of ninjas.0 -
Thanks to all for the great help on here! I just finished my first Big Enchilada with a 2 Star Team because of everything I read in this thread.
For the sake of history, I used: OBW, Thor(Marvel Now) and Wolverine (Astonishing X-Men).
Using advice:
Wave 1 : Collected as many tiles as possible (avoiding Black and Team-Up unless necessary). Cast OBW Pink when it looked good. Cast OBW Blue to stave off countdown tiles. Finished last one with Wolvie Green (as it cost the least tiles and does the least damage).
Wave 2 : Because I had first turn, mowed most of them down with 2 casts of Thor Green and 2 Casts of Wolvie Red. Got rid of the stragglers with Thor Yellow.
Wave 3 : Repeat Wave 1.
Wave 4 : Repeat Wave 2.
Now, will I always be that lucky? Probably not. I'm sure I got some great placement and cascades that helped. But, the strategy did work and I never would of pulled it off without this thread. Hope my writeup is able to help someone in the future.0 -
using thormneto, I found that killing them with a match-3 (non cascade) with either mags or thor (not storm) is best. if storm gets in front when turn to smoke activates it is enough to activate her yellow and it hits the loop and cycles 3 times. if thor or mags is in front, the first kill is not enough to activate storm yellow. now, success on the second/third kill depends on how many other attack tile are still on the board, because if it activates, it will cycle 3 times and make it hard - sometimes impossible but best case scenario will be very hard. key is to be flush with ap by the time that happens. then you can shake the board (green/yellow/red/purple) until it gets better. if you aren't in good shape with ap and it vomits attacks all over the board, well, try again later maybe.0

For me, the team of 2* max characters that almost always win me the big enchilada is 3Thor, OBW, and Daken. OBW is your control queen who steals AP and uses her blue ability to increase minions counters which is vital and heals as a bonus. Daken is there to put up massive amounts of strike tiles and he can step to take some minions shots since he can heal over the length of the round. In addition at the end he can take out one to two characters with his blue attack since you will have tons and tons of strike tiles. Thor is your primary damage dealer though save up yellow and green to use against the characters only, don't waste it on the minions unless you have too.
The only time I run into issues is when ninjas are present because the guys they stick in first are rough due to their quick red tiles and the fact that when you kill them they spawn attack tiles that can be hard to destroy completely. In this case I simply use a damage enhancing boost to kill them quick and I usually don't have too much problem although it can still be close depending on the luck of the board.
My builds are Thor 3/5/5, OBW 3/5/5 (I like being able to use her steal quicker and deal more damage with espionage), and Daken 4/4/5.0 -
I use OBW 5/4/4, Ares 5/5/3 and Captain America 5/4/4.
Very best team!
I take advise from another post.
Using advice:
Wave 1 : Collected as many tiles as possible. Cast OBW Pink when it looked good. Cast OBW Blue to stave off countdown tiles. Before I Finished last one, I put Protect Shield from Captain America.
Wave 2 : After the first opponent Move, I hit the max character with Ares green power, and red power. Then I use Cast OBW Pink when it looked good to get the opponent tiles.
Wave 3 : Repeat Wave 1.
Wave 4 : Repeat Wave 2.0 -

If you don't have The Hood (a 3*), replace him with a 2* like Bullseye. He's probably going to be useless if you are playing properly, but when you unleash his 5 cover Black you can do some incredible damage, clean up the board, and regain a bunch of AP.0 -
I almost always use (level 94) OBW/MnMag/CStorm, and can usually complete BE undamaged.
The general strategy is to accumulate purple to feed Polarity Shift, then create a match-5 blue to generate cascades and feed multiple uses of Wind Storm.
On waves 1 and 3, I prioritize purple, then blue, then green, then red. Match as much as possible -- this is both to accumulate AP and to avoid ending the wave too early. I try to avoid the use of powers as much as possible, except for Lightning Storm (either to board shake or as a last-ditch defense against countdowns) and Anti-Gravity Device (only if a countdown is about to go off -- and keep in mind, sometimes it's okay to let one fire, like a heal). I almost never use Aggressive Recon unless it's what I need to fuel Anti-Gravity Device to avoid a really bad enemy countdown triggering. Polarity Shift can sometimes be used defensively -- don't forget that match-4 will destroy a row or column and can sometimes be used against countdown timers. If available, I will use Magnetic Flux to finish off a foe with low health; it can be one of your best AP-generating moves.
When you're down to your last enemy, either fire a power (Lightning Storm and Magnetic Flux are great to grab more AP) or use a 5-match to down him to retain control of the board when wave 2 starts.
With any luck, this gets you into wave 2 with enough AP to use Wind Storm twice. Stun two enemies (usually the most dangerous, followed by the one with the most HP remaining). You can't accumulate enough AP for three Wind Storms, but you might have enough other AP to generate blue -- another Polarity Shift, a Magnetic Flux, or a lucky Lightning Storm. If that gets you enough blue for a third stun, you're pretty much home free. Start building up your AP stores again following the above pattern. Unless you're unlucky and get a color-starved board, the enemy should never be able to get a move from this point until victory.0 -

Your actual technique (ie, AP collection, power use, etc.) is virtually identical to mine, but I use 2hor in place of MnMAg (2hor Red cleans up at level's end, Yellow feeds cStorm Green, etc.).
You've got me seriously considered dropping the ISO to level him from L20 because the plan you describe just seems so, IDK, elegant?
Tempting... maybe when I've got a bit more ISO floating around and I'm going for a card I'm not too worried about losing (I'm looking at you, Vision. )...
Cheers!

MNMag is great when he's boosted. His red hits like a truck and generates a lot of AP, except for those unlucky times that his tile spawns in the corner.
The only downsides I see to OBW - Mag - Storm as the Enchilada team is that you've got conflicting uses for purple (sometimes in wave 2 you need to use OBW to deny an enemy power), and no yellow or black power.
Plus, like you said, Thor yellow into Storm green leads to a ton of AP, which is so vital to have come wave 4.0 -

I agree about the downsides, but find in practice that they're not actually significant, since you would need to have a board heavily starved of red, green, and purple (which denies your significant routes of both AP generation and board shake). What actually winds up happening most of the time is that I end wave 1 and the enemy never moves again (and therefore you have no need to use Aggressive Recon).0 -
quick bump, took some searching to find this, needed to link it.0

Kevin61 wrote:My team is Original Black Widow, 2* Thor and 2* Wolverine. As with most of the folks, I use OBW during the goon waves to either steal AP with purple and/or increase the timers with the blue healing. I bank Thor's and Wolverine's powers for the 2nd and 4th waves. Maybe trigger a couple of Feral Claws to get the strike tiles. On the third wave, I wait until just before I defeat the last goon to trigger another purple steal. After that, on the 4th wave, a couple of Feral Claws and Adamantium Slashes takes care of the majority of whoever they send. Also use Thor's Call the Storm to damage all opponents. Have won with combo more often than any other team.
This is the same team and strategy that I use.0 -
Just beat "Dat required character" for the first time the other day and have been looking for ways to attack Enchilada with my 2* crew.
I have enough ISO to max out a team of 3 and I have 3* torch to be able to work it tomorrow.
And I don't quite have a full covered lineup in 2* land that matches any of the proposed teams in this thread although I'm close.
Full covers: Daken(4/4/5), Storm(5/5/3), Marvel (3/5/5)
Torch (5/5/2), Ares (4/4/3), OBW (4/5/3), Wolvie (5/3/3), Magneto (3/2/5), Thor (4/3/3), Hawkeye (3/3/5).
Been leaning toward OBW, Daken, Ares as my best option. Although Esp is not high enough for strike tile fun.
Appreciate any feedback. PMs are fine as well to reduce thread clutter.
*Edit: ended up going with 78 Ares, 86 OBW and 94 Storm and cleared it.

Before reading this forum, I used 553 Wolvie, 355 OBW and 355 Thor. I could routinely beat ISO-8 brotherhood tBE since around level 75, most others since around level 85, but got my **** kicked by Hand ninjas (too fast CDs, too fast to die and leave me without AP). This week I tried 355 Thor, 553 CStorm, 355 MNMags... success!
Focus first on green/yellow and fire Storm's green (or Thor's yellow to cascade/feed green then Storm) to clear CDs and fuel everything else, purple to clear CDs and feed blue/red, blue in case of emergency on the first wave. Try to save blues for 2nd wave though...
As most people have mentioned, finish waves with a power (even if Mag's red is overkill, more AP is a good thing)
Using Storm's green with high AP and Mags' red, by wave 3 you should be swimming in AP, I usually get to wave 4 with 30 AP on 3 or 4 colors0 -
I recently restarted MPQ on steam about 2 weeks ago, and have managed to beat Big Enchilada with a 1 star team a couple of times already, when I have the required character for that day.
Team used was IM 35 (lvl 50, 5/5/3), Storm (lvl 49, 5/5/3), and BW (lvl 25, 2/5). My strategy is similar to what has already been mentioned, by slowplaying stages 1 and 3 to gather max AP, before non-stop stunning stages 2 and 4 and nuking down the enemy with IM35 and Storm. The run is definitely slow and tedious due to 1*s having quite low match and power damage, but its doable with some patience and concentration. Takes me maybe 15-20 minutes, iirc.
I did mess up on stage 4 a couple of times, where I run out of blue AP or BW dies accidentally. I generally boost for blue/purple and green/black. To make your run even easier, you might want to bring along a strong team-up to use on Stage 4, to kill one character outright or do heavy AOE to all 3.0 -

I use 2-Thor, OBW, and Juggs. I have to use TUs sometimes but *shrugs* Thor and OBW aren't even max leveled.0

My wife got back into playing this after a long rage-hiatus, and she often gets me to win this for her.
The best suggestion I can make is to request team-ups. If you know someone with a strong roster, these are the team-ups they should send:
Mohawk Storm
Doctor Doom
Human Torch
Blade
Falcon
Hopefully, you don't get Mistress of the Elements, Technopathic Strike, Diabolical Plot, or Fireball.
All the other skills are good for you.
Flame Jet and Inferno are awesome, but they'll prevent you from using your 2* Torch. He might be your best fighter.
You should always have OBW on your team. She's everything. Her, with Nightstalker and Flame Jet, can win the whole thing. It'll be hard, but you can get through it.
The point is to have lasting Team-Ups. Inferno, Hailstorm, Summon Demons, Flame Jet, and if you're lucky, Keep Your Enemies Closer, will all help you power through quickly. Bird Strike is also good.
This strategy is all about OBW. She's controlling everything. You have to keep watch on how much AP the enemy has and how much you have. If they have a lot to steal, and you have a lot of space, take what you can. If the mook wave is close to ending, and they have a little too much of a good colour, you'll want to take it away before the other characters get ahold of it.
Her blue skill will keep you alive. Stop those countdowns from firing, and make sure your health stays high.
You'll also want to manage your AP to help your teammates (of Team-Ups). If you have a Flame Jet on the board, get as much green as you can, and steal it when you need it. The same goes for any power you want to use. OBW is the AP gatherer.
My wife has a Kamala Khan with only yellow and purple. A green skill would be useful, but yellow is why I use her. When OBW heals the team, so does Kamala. Also, her purple fuels the Flame Jet on her now-usable 3* Torch.
If I had only 2* characters, I would use OBW and Johnny Torch. My third might rotate, but I think Daken is a good fit. He heals himself, as well. That's important.0
