So does this mean that there will not be another refresh until 90 minutes before the event ends, regardless of when we started it?

I think you are in my bracket jozier.

I am curious to see what happens with the refresh. It just bounces around so much...

I'm not really pushing for 1st. As long as I am in the top 10 I will be happy. This event so far has been my least favorite due to the scaling which I am hoping will be fixed when they run it again. It just seems more like work than fun icon_e_smile.gif

btw, I might have missed it but has anyone figured out if its better to play and get killed or retreat a bunch of times. I have been doing the retreat method, just takes awhile....

Yeah you're 4th in my bracket I think. Not going to be fun doing this last refresh.
  • Pfahahah. This shot to #1 in my bracket out of nowhere and just got another 1500 or so in minutes.

Not what you've got, but what you do with it, huh?
  • Yeah been kind of ridiculous. I've only fought level 230 people. Since the first refresh of the first sub.

    ONLY.

    It's been a grind.

At least we are now unafraid of 230s!
  • I been around the top 20 for most of the time, but as its a 5am finish for me, i 'll be lucky to get top 100 because im not getting up at 3am for Daredevil.

It's funny, in other tourneys, I used to be a little hesitant on level 230 guys.....not anymore. Now I get angry when I see them and I want to hulk smash LoL
  • Sadly,

This is what happens when the main bracket is worth 80% of the total event points and all of the subs combined are the remaining 20%.

The discrepancy in points between the two is so large, that rubberbanding effects from the main bracket completely overwhelm all effort from the sub-brackets.

During my best rubberbanding run, in which I sprung from literally dead last (200th place) to win the sub-bracket, the highest reward missions only reached about 700ish points. Why bother with any of those when there are literally 9 in the main event that pay that much, with one that pays DOUBLE that amount and one that pays TRIPLE?

The scoring is so out of control, its not funny.

So, yes, in my opinion, the bracket winners will be the ones who rubberband the most effectively (not fastest at end, although that is one dimension of strong rubberbanding).
  • Aww they finally forced us to pick up the patch.

I think I much prefer the hulks event structure to this: I'm currently sitting at an 800 point lead in my main bracket, but it doesn't really matter due to rubbering. I think ideally the rubberbanding should make it so that you can only surpass the leader a little bit in terms of absolute point count: the way they're doing it, it seems out of control in that you can get huge leads. Oh well, I guess I'm going to have to employ my super secret tech strategy going into the final hour of the event in order to win that 5th green x-force cover...

New to the forum and I hate giving away tactics but I will give my 2 cents. I have been playing against lvl 230's for the last 2 tourneys, I don't retreat or die unless there is a cascade that gets me. The only thing that keeps me out of the top 5 daily is Work and the GF. The combo I use is OBW/Spidey/Patch Wolvie- my priorities on the start are Blues then Purples. OBw is the only maxed character and lucky that Spidey hasn't been nerfed yet. This allows for prolonged stuns with Spidey at a cost of 2 Blue and steal the generated Blues from the Maggie with OBW. Starting off I take hits from The Dark Avengers or until counters reach 1 then I start a stun cycle. This set takes a while (5-8 min per round) but right before the end of the match I heal all players with Spidey Yellow.
Hopefully this helps some but not those in my Bracket, GL all. One last note, I've been playing for awhile now (early version where they had you collect like 30 covers for 1 character upgrade) and even though I don't completely agree with the Nerfing I do like the fact that I am seeing more variety in teams and not the same Thor/Wolvie match up in all events.

    20 people over 42000. 47000 is top.

Might be my bracket but never seen this many people so determined to grind so many missions.

21 missions including the sub event.

All this determination despite mid tournament nerfs, cost increases and everything else.

Don't you mean 13 missions as of now? icon_e_wink.gif
  • For the last refresh, or for any refresh for that matter, does it make more sense to do the high point missions first, or the low ones? My impulse it to do highest to lowest In order but maybe it's more efficient to do low value ones first so the high ones stay relatively high when you get to them?

You are playing to "not lose" the tournament to rubberbanding, which means completing the final mission refresh as close to the end of the event as possible. The missions will refresh eight hours after you have completed them. They will refresh earlier if you completed your set earlier this morning. Regardless, I suggest waiting until 90 minutes before the event ends to prevent other players from leapfrogging your rank due to rubberbanding.

8 hours left, you're top 10 i'm top 12. Only way to salvage it i think is to wait as long as possible to get the most rubber banding while still completing as many missions as possible. Gonna be interesting.

Ranked 20 with 8 hours to go?

Even the sub events are worth something.

I didn't have to put in nearly this much effort in the Hulk events and got all 3 hulk covers both rounds.

This is just plain work. I'd not even play tonight if it weren't for a week of wasted effort to drop even further back.

I didn't even bother registering in the last sub before this one (mostly because of sleep, actually, but still - would've made time if I'd thought it mattered). There's just no points in there unless you're up against someone who's grinding down everything, and all you're doing by completing missions in the sub is pushing your difficulty multiplier up for those 1000+ at max multiplier Ares & feeder mook missions in the main. Was first in my main by a little over 1,000 at the 8-hour cutoff before last refresh, but I did some high-pointers late enough that I'm pushing my luck if I expect to pull them off again. And that's if I can drag myself out of bed at three in the morning to do it. So worth it.

Don't see much point registering in the last sub, either, but I need to do that or some SHIELD Training if I want ISO to boost the last refresh.

So...six hours of tanking, then two hours of frantic grinding?

I know right? Took me 30 min to download and it ruined my 2nd to last run. First by about 1k right now so if all goes according to plan I should HOPEFULLY pull in a top 2.

Also, side note, I recognized one name in my top 10, qiwi (seen in lr). His deck looks fine. Spidey thor etc. Everyone else in my.top 10? Yea, its all lvl 30-40 Im a few base *** and a few base others. To which is say...huh? I feel like sending a ticket with the name of my entire top 10 lol (minus me and qiwi).
