  • I have a refresh now. So unfortunately I'm going to lose some hours. It's 4:45 EST so there's no way I'm playing when it refreshes at the earliest of 1 AM EST. Oh well.

People need to lay off on the accusing everyone of hacking now that they can see rosters. In this event I've been fighting lv17-40 mobs pretty much the entire time so any starter one star team can do that just fine. You don't have to hack to do well in this event with low level guys.
The problem is that most of us appear to be fighting nothing but level 120+ since halfway through the very first sub. Wanting to scale the battles is fine, but it's simply not feasible to beat these maxed enemies with the same consistency as the low level enemies. It doesn't make sense that people with low level and/or low cover rosters are able to shoot up to the top of the leader boards. Essentially, these people, if they're not cheating, are not playing the same PvE even that I'm and many other players are playing. Since there's nothing to indicate that the PvE differs for different people, the only natural conclusion for people to draw is that they are cheating.

Lol 120+. I haven't fought anything lower than 230 since the tournament first started basically.
  • this whole thing is going to come down to who rubber bands the latest with a full clear. Every time I clear I hit #1, then I fall to 50 over the next 8hrs.
  • Copying my post from the other thread:
Scaling for main event and subs are tied. If you tank enough (aka. have your entire roster die many, many times) I've found that you can lower the mobs' levels all the way to lvl17 for early missions and lvl30-40 for the last ones.

This is a result of the very problematic scaling system, which the devs already admitted was not thoroughly tested for a large player population and is currently broken. They just said they won't try to change it in the middle of the event as it introduces too many uncertainties.

The system is based on your own results and the results of the entire community. Early on in the event the sample size was likely too small so everyone's mob levels shot up to 230 very quickly. As newer players enter the event later, they see much more even mob scaling, resulting in that for them mission level doesnt really go up much from lvl20ish.

So in effect depending on when you joined the event and whether or not you're purposely tanking, for this event people can be playing VERY different PVE.

If you started early, the first mission would have been lvl 17 but as soon as you won that you would see levels shot up very quickly and in a short time every mob for every mission will be lvl 230.

If you just joined the event though, you would still see the first mission as lvl 17 but the mission levels only increase very slowly as you accumulate wins, so you would see lvl 40-50 mobs for end missions.

The only way to drop mob levels seems to be by losing hitpoints, whether through close wins where your team is severely hurt, retreats, or losses.

I think this is the point all of us need to work on. I need to work out the timings of my main mission resets so I can get them towards the end of the tourney.....

SIGH, I'm going to be so glad when this event is over. Hope my beautiful DareDevil covers take this event's bad taste out of my mouth. Top 10 and I'll be happy, sitting #6 at the moment.

Just do not clear anything within 9hrs of the tourney end, then in the last hour when everything is max points, make a run for it. In the mean time, you don't have to be super religious about it, clear your sub first to maximize rubber banding there, then move to the main.
  • if someone with 9 guys running 30 modern Bw/29 modern storm/13 bagman can be within 20 pts of me then just about the only advantage you have is being able to do a full clear faster in one massive rubber band burn at the end

Same here, 230+ is all I get. I wonder if the devs even realize that a Maggia Muscle can take down your entire team, regardless of lvl, in one blue countdown tile. The new boost prices have basically made this event ungrindable. And now that Patch is the way he was intended I'm getting my **** handed to me. If you dont have a high level Blue Spidey I don't see how anyone could make any progress.
  • 230 Mags and Hood... Insane two or three matches and my whole team was down... Lol

Well the Maggia foes are sitting at 186 now for me, but all the named villains have been stuck at 230...

I haven't had enemies gain or lose levels at all over the last ~24 hours. I would say that they seem to be at a fairly challenging, yet difficult level for me (120-170 for most missions).

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, though. I sat at #1 in previous sub, holding at #3 in the current sub since I only need yellow covers for Patch now, and spent most of yesterday at #1 in my main. I dropped in the main overnight, but only slipped to ~20, unlike previous days where I was slipping past 100.

I have a high level 3/5/5 Spidey and I'm still getting my **** handed to me sometimes if the blues dry up LoL

If you spent most of yesterday #1 in our main, then I'm sure we'll be in a tight heat at the end tomorrow

I'm pretty sure you've got me beat for #1 ultimately. I'll just be happy with a top 10, but I can at least aim for #2.

Bah, the event ends at 9 tomorrow, this might be problematic since i actually have something i need to do then, sigh. I guess the plan is then to do a full clear the cycle before and try and squeeze in half an hour of this at the end.

I wouldn't be so sure - especially as I've only gotten about half of all possible points since R47 due to lack of motivation. Currently my refresh timings are all over the place in both main and sub.

I've actually got good timing going into the home stretch. In my Time Zone it'll finish at 4pm Saturday afternoon, so if I do need to grind, I can at least focus on it and not have to juggle other stuff, like work.

Yeah, my spidey's blue costs 4, which is probably why I haven't actually beaten them enough to max out quite max out their level.

I'm not too hung up about this event overall. Dropped out of top 100 and I'm not really motivated enough to try and climb back. The battles just aren't any fun to play right now. I did buy a bunch of HP from the recent steam sale so I am dedicated to this game. But, this particular event is just disappointing. Still, since I don't care too much about daredevil, it's not really a big loss since I already have plenty of other low cover characters that are taking up space. Not having won't really mean much other than missing out on the eventual missions that require him for the next event. Now, if it were some other character that's more of a personal favorite, then I would certainly be more agitated by the current state of this event.
  • Only another 29-30 hours of this! We're in the home stretch. God I hope this is the last sub.
