Unfortunately, it looks like I'll be on my commute when it drops. Normally I'd be on the train, which would have been PERFECT, but I have to drive tonight.0 -
Shamusyeah wrote:I won all 3 of my subs using only 3 cycles. Lucky I guess?
I won two of them and 2nd in the other by a few points due to one mission completed out of time. First and second with 2 cycles and I think I left the final mission undone in one of them. Third sub with 3 complete cycles, 1129 points I think.
Right now 1st place in the main bracket after completing this new sub with 1025 points. At the end of the last sub I was 2nd with the top scorer at 200+ points. shmolex and EvilSonGoku were very close, maybe less than 40 points.0 -
I am 1/3/1. In the last sub I decided to keep some stats.
Completion data
Did all missions exactly 2 times (until they dropped to 1 point) with the exception of the last mission in the first rotation because they were 230lv and I didn't bother playing them. I did only 3 rotations.
The times I finished the last mission it was the only one left so it dropped in points (50+25). I started all rotations in the last 2 hours finishing all missions 2-20 minutes before each rotation end. Yeah, it was too close most of the time.
Point totals
Starting the 1st rotation I was around 10th in main. I got 319 points (without completing the last mission as I mentioned - I assume I lost 70-75 points from that) and finished 1st in my sub.
Starting the 2nd rotation I was around 20th in main. I got 479 points for a total of 798 and finished 1st in my sub. #2 was 130 points behind.
Starting the 3rd rotation I was 8th in main. I got 347 points for a total of 1145 and finished 1st in my sub. #2 was only 70 points behind.
Does all this mean anything to anyone out there who knows how rubberbanding works? All I get is that the higher I start in the main, the less points I get. Also the last rotation was nerve wracking. Evilbeavers was after me like a hunting dog. I had to play like my life depended on it.0 -

(the 4th upgrades for green increases strike tile damage by 33% and increases tile damage by 33% for red from 2 covers. The 5th upgrade doubles the damage from 3 covers for both green and red)0 -

I haven't even look at his build honestly. He's sitting at lvl 40 indefinitely and is gonna be a throw away after this tourney basically. Just a means to an end convenience levelled.0 -

3->4 = +37% damage
4->5 = +60% damage0 -
Not sure if this has been discussed or mentioned previously:
I have been throwing "non-essential personnel" to the grinder in order to lower the levels of my Maggia mooks, since I had timed my refreshes for the last sub poorly and had to finish in a flurry. Anyway, I have noticed point value increasing as level decreases - is this just simply a case of rubberbanding at the same time?0 -

Guess I'm lazy, but I've only started the missions with about 2 hours left on each of them got around high 900s points each and have gotten 1st/2nd/2nd and am 7th overall in my bracket. I really really really want to deplete the missions 3 or 4 times, but I just can't get myself to do it LoL
My patch is 5/3/5 and the high level Thugs/etc really aren't that difficult. Hit off a few Green Combos and they fall REAL easy.0 -
Yeah my greens still at 3 so I may as well at least do it half right. Haha. Forgot I hadn't put that 4th green in. I'll grab a red and yellow this cycle and be done with it.0

Only have time for 3 resets this time around.
Bracket ends 7 PM EST, is that correct?0 -
I accidentally made my Patch 3/4/5, so I just used my green cover to finish him instead of making him 5/3/5 like I wanted to ; _ ; At least the free Daredevil is coming soon!
...wait, you can get 900+ points by just doing a last minute run?0 -

There's exactly two ways to play competitively (and be successful):
1) Grind everything out for max points - Achieves the greatest rewards, but requires the most effort. To win, you have to outgrind the competition.
2) Play the rubberband - Achieves lesser rewards, but can win sub brackets **if** not directly competing against a grinder. A grinder will always win out over a rubberbander. Via this route, winning is a matter of timing, understanding the rubberbanding mechanics for a given event, and utilizing the rubberband better than your competition.
-- So yes, if you are highly ranked on the main bracket, the fewer points you will earn per mission, as the game is expecting a highly ranked player to grind out all the missions for max points. Rubberbanding for this event is based upon the differential between you and your main bracket leader at any given point in time.0 -

Cool, I guess. I've never seen such huge leaps.0 -

Yes sir. Gotten almost 1000 every time just by playing last 2 hours. Depleted everything to 1 point. There is NO way I'm going to win my overall bracket, I'm like 300 points behind, but I'm in the top 10 and I'm good with that.0 -
my head hurts, not 4 clearing this bracket in front of the apocalypse of breaking 70m, does anyone in my main need the yellow IW? just keep going, def going to tank this.0

It's going to be really tough advancing from here on out for me. All of my opponents are at level 230. Every. Single. One.0
