Well the first time I tanked down their levels it took roughly an hour of dying/retreating. Now I tank them down after every clear. This allows me to do the last mission at level 46 and when I finish with the first mission it'll be around 30. I basically retreat until 28-35 of my guys die. In this sub I use the first mission because you get a free widow. It takes about 20 minutes to keep them down once you do the initial tanking. Honestly I haven't used boosts since the first day and I've gained some where close to 20k iso. This event is really easy as long as you keep the mission levels down.

That's interesting. Breaks down to time vs reward, or effort vs reward IMO.

Question about the timing on these subs, does the event clock start when you enter your bracket or do they start and disappear regardless of when you enter?

regardless of entering time, however your competitors also join about the same time
So to get a full three refreshes you have to enter as soon as they appear and so does everyone else. So waiting to enter is risk/reward, since you get a less competitive bracket but you risk missing a refresh? Damaging your overall score as well. Hmm

Joining very early gets you 4 refreshes, after that, theres quite a lot of time to still do 3 refreshes.

As i see it, there is no disadvantage doing just 3, in the aspect of the main bracket.
  • To do 3 refreshes you need 16 hours + time it takes you to do 3 set of missions + anytime loss to inefficiency (like sleep), which is pretty easy on a 26h timeline.

To do 4 sets means you've only 2 hours to do 4 set of missions plus any time loss due to any other reason, so it's very tight on timing.
  • Yeah I'm currently in a 4 refresh bracket and I screwed up my timing earlier. So my last 2 missions will reset about 30-45 minutes before the end of the bracket, and the others are still waiting to be done, and I'll wait as long as possible to maxmimize rubberband for them.

You get 4 refreshes if you enter as soon as it starts. You get like 8-9 hours of leeway for 3 refreshes (depending on how fast you can take down the missions.)

If you really really really want to do well in the main bracket, doing 4 refreshes is optimal. Doing fewer than 4 refreshes is only slightly worse than doing 4 refreshes, though, due to rubberbanding.

Anyone doing a full 4 refresh cycle on this sub?
  • You guys listening to yourselves? Planning your schedule around a game is, ahem, nuts. Hope they rethink enemy scaling second time around. Lvl 230 minions are just too much. Used to use these events to level my characters, that's just not an option with this event. I know the reasoning behind every move they make (Mo' money fo' us!), but this is blatant and not fun.
  • Any guesses as to whether everyone will get a Dare Devil cover once we hit the global goal?

  • It may be a little sad (and I'm ashamed of it), but despite working 40 hours a week, I'm trying to work this game into my schedule, even if it breaks up my sleep. I have an hour lunch at my workplace, so I try to set up my other 2 entry times around that. I also don't want to get shoved in to a 4-reset bracket, so I wait about 2.5 hours before entering. That means, for example, I'll be entering tonight around 8:30 - complete all the missions twice by 10:00. ~8 hours later (4:00 in the morning, basically an early wakeup), grind out all the missions twice again. Then at lunch, I can do most of them twice (the high point ones), and finish off the last few when I get home at 5:15-ish. It'll probably get me top 5 in most of the events, I got 1st in the first, 3rd in the second, and I'm looking at first or second for this last event (I need top 2 to finish off my Patch), assuming TheLadder doesn't push me out.

...Actually now that I think about it, if I just finish off Patch, all I care about is getting the 500 ISO rewards and top 10 for Daredevil (top 2 would be a bonus), so I might just join the 4-reset brackets and overtake Gobstopper again for first in my main, caring not about the sub-bracket placement. Hrm. Food for thought.

I stopped really caring about getting 1st in the sub-brackets and it's incredibly relieving. I can play basically whenever and I don't feel the need to use boosts, so I'm racking up a lot more ISO this way. I'm really just playing now so I'm in the hunt for top 50 or so when those last couple sub-events come around.

This. I've got 4/3/5 on Patch - only one green short, which I can get for Top 45 in Army Of One, vs. Top 1 in PvE. I barely played this sub due to work, and also knowing that my main bracket has a number of people grinding 3-4 refreshes. Think I'll rubberband my way into 1 or 2 DD covers, ISO for levelling up Patch, and a significantly reduced risk of being diagnosed with hypertension at my next doctor's visit!

That's what I'm hoping for, but still unlikely. My school schedule is heavy end of week, so I'll be lucky to get a single DD cover at this rate. Toooo busy~...

I like your elite training team.

You're going 5/3/5 eh? I'm thinking that's the way I should go. I keep tossing and turning the different combinations in my head for Patch and it's infuriating. I might build a second Patch simply because they are giving out so many and he has much more variation in build than Punisher imo.

I am. Expecting enemies to regen points with about 1 hour 20 min remaining.

I'll say this: the differences aren't huge. Because there's rubberbanding within a sub-bracket.

I wouldn't sweat it either way. I don't think there's a "wrong" build here outside of not maxing 5 yellow for Patch. There's a case to be made for 3/5/5, and even 4/4/5 too. I chose 5/3/5 because I don't want to have to build teams around maxing how many Patch tiles I can get on the board. As new characters come out and I potentially play around with my roster lineups, I think 5/3/5 is a more future-proof build, although I easily see the allure of the one-hit insta-kill for the 5 red build.
