Keep up the good work! ... so I can get away with playing once a day icon_e_biggrin.gif

Mine took about 20 minutes to come through, was the same yesterday.

Ah, you are 3rd in the bracket... I've been able to play plenty this weekend, but during a working week it's unpredictable how much time I can dedicate to grinding these missions. I'll do my best lol.

Odd...never had it take this long.

Despite my complaining, I persevered with the event. Ended up top 25 again, with clearing missions 2-3 times each over the course of resets. I still need to tank my thugs levels down but it looks like there's a bit more information now on how to do that correctly, so I should be able to place a bit higher for this sub.

My main is really weird. My ranking is fluctuating wildly between ~25 and ~125. I think if I keep up with this perseverance business I can definitely collect a purple cover, might even luck out and get a red.

I spent most of my focus yesterday on Army of One, which looks like it's paid off. Currently sitting at #2 in my bracket, so I'll get 2 or 3 more Patch shields for the last half of Thick as Thieves.

I'm starting to get really sick of this constant grind against 240's. It's starting to feel like work and now i'm at the point that i dread having to play. Think i'm gonna do just enough to finish top 10 in my main bracket to get all 3 DD covers.

Just got patch to 5 green.

Throwing down 12 146 strike tiles changes the complexion of the game entirely.
  • Just logged in and received mine.

Is it better to start the sub now and have four refresh periods or wait until later and start to populate a bracket of players that can only perform three refreshes?

I got 2nd in my first sub and 1st in my second one doing that, and I'm #5 in my main and ready to overtake the top two spots. I'd say that's a good strategy. Just don't get into my bracket, though icon_e_wink.gif

Well, so far managed a 5th and a 3rd place sub finish, 20th overall in my main bracket. Feeling relatively good about that considering I only have a 1 blue spider-man, and my patch and OBW are both around level 40. Had to skip the spider-man fight this sub.

Still 300 points behind in main bracket though. Guess top 50 is the target.

Urgh, knocked to 6th just before the sub ended, and didn't have any health packs to heal my team to go back in and go for top 5 again. I just don't have the roster to be able to take out several groups of level 230 opponents. This definitely the least enjoyable PvE event so far. I like a challenge at the end of each round, but not every match in it.
What do you have? All anyone's using is Patch/Wolv, OBW & Spider-Man. I don't even have a decent Spider-Man and I'm getting out alive nine out of ten times from everything except missions that require him, which are a bit more dicey and I'm always boosting for.

As Celerity and others pointed out, Loki can trivialize goon missions by turning the 700-odd strike tiles from Threaten into protect tiles, effectively rendering you invulnerable. More black covers will make it easier, but a level 15 Loki with one black would do, if you have that. Not like you actually want him matching anything. You'd just need to be wary of cascades when letting the first couple of Threatens go off.

I guess the nice thing about the mission I goons being level 230 now is that I can view the riveting plot in order this time without worrying about what it's doing to the later missions.

Depends on your main bracket, I think. If you're up against people who are grinding it out in exactly an hour four times over and care where you place against them, you probably have to join that fray. Otherwise, I'd just trust in the rubber band. It's been working ok for me starting late and doing the last refresh as late as I think I'll get away with.

But think of the non-tangible goods with no resale value held in an account that can be closed at the sole discretion of its administrator you might receive for your hard work! You know you want to.

Thumbs up to subs running slightly longer than a day, though. Everyone gets up at 3am eventually or tanks a round.

On my mobile the starting battles for Scotland Yard are at level 170, but on pc they are at level 18 and the rewards are 1 star covers or modern hawkeye.

I think what they have tried to do is a good idea, but the execution has been somewhat lacking.
  • The rewards took so long I started being paranoid I might be shadowbanned or whatever the term is Nemek was talking about since I told everyone about the retreating trick.

Out of curiousity, people can still see me right? I've been near the top of my overall bracket, and I'm pretty sure I was in Narkon's sub bracket last time, but want to make sure.
  • Has anyone done the first set and can tell me who the mandatory covers are?
  • People are definetly playing less in our (Bugpop, Psyko, bughunt, Narkon) bracket.

I stuck to my original plan of only playing each sub once (each mission twice). After the first sub I was at 49 or so in the main bracket (got 4th in the sub).

After getting 1st in the second sub I was up to 24 in the main with 1777 points.

With work tomorrow I won't do as well but I'll get back on track Tuesday.

And with this strategy I have still yet to see any enemies close to 200. Highest so far were somewhere between 120-160 (bad memory!).

    You're good.

And it'd be absolutely shocking if you could get banned for anything other than hacking.

I'm sure the retreating thing was always expected to be figured out.

I doubt they'd ban for using mechanics in the actual game

yeah, I would have been banned for tanking pvp a long time ago if that was the case icon_e_biggrin.gif

More like half of the forums, to be honest.
