danae wrote:For those who are having problems with survival mode, a strategy I try to use as much as possible is to kill the last guy in a wave with one of my character's abilities or by matching 5 colors so that I can still retain my turn when the next wave comes in. This helps a lot especially when the next wave contains non-goon characters. With all the AP that goons generate, it could spell disaster if as soon as the next wave comes in, they start using their hero abilities.
For example, using LazyThor, I like to kill the last guy in a wave with his Red ability while having saved up enough green AP. Then when the next wave comes in, I can Call the Storm and possibly kill two of those in that wave even before they get a chance to do anything.
Depending on your roster, you can also cheese(collect ap!!!!!) the goon portions of many survival nodes if you feel safe you're not going to die to goons. Can basically build up enough AP to kill anyone who's incoming(or at least stun them). The only time I DONT do this is when I'm up against Caltrops user because that's not a countdown tile .0 -
zubalove wrote:Thanks everyone! My Falcon has only one cover. Instead I went with my lvl 55 2/2/1 Blade. Perfect. Between his strike tiles and AP stealing I had everything under control the entire time!
You beat me to it, but I went with OBW/2*Thor/Blade (mine is 2/2/2). OBW is a killing machine with all the potential strike tiles and Blade + OBW combine really well on the AP drain. I saved all of Thor's abilities until I was fighting non-goons and it went quite smoothly.
Incidentally, in case I ever need it, does anyone know how whales works on survival nodes? It seems like it would wipe out the active group in front of you, but I never actually tried it. I was just curious in case I needed a get-out-of-jail-free card on a node I was having trouble with.0 -
I do have one pressing question that nobody else appears to have addressed so far.
What exactly is it about Colossus's - Colossus'? Colossuses?
What exactly is it about Piotr's belt buckle that Beast is so intent on pondering?0 -
Does the award cover is always the same as those that i already have?
Can I win for example blue skill haveing black one?
And also, if I have 5 covers of blue skill, and also 1 in black do I win black one or is it random witch one will be an award?0 -

It can be something you already have max of, yes. It's not random.0 -

All you need is to have at least one cover of any colour for the character, so you can get to the award.0

I think the toss-up is between Yellow Week and First Cover Week. It could be either - but I'm assuming we'll get confirmation of that when Mohawk's turn comes up. Where Black Panther, Classic Magneto, Luke Cage and Rocket'n'Groot all have yellow as their first cover, Mohawk has green as the first, yellow as the second. Either way it's cool with me. Extra Iso helps.
You guys were right. It's Storm's green power for Quest 30 -
Day Three:

Wave 3 Muscle (122), Maggia Don(121), Konran (120)
Wave 4 Deadpool*** (130), Gorgon*** (132), Hood*** (131)
Reward: Green Mohawk.
Theories confirmed, at least for this week: Enemy levels do not change, even if actual enemies do. Player level lockouts stay the same for earlier nodes. Covers awarded are the same ones as from the DPD Cover Packs, and rewards handed out seem to be First Covers.0 -
Day Three Survival node:
Used Ares (Lvl 79), OBW (Lvl 75) and Luke Cage (Lvl 85). Wave 1 and Wave 3 are the hardest. Wiped once when Muscle got off his Threaten and I couldn't get rid of the Teiatsus' attack tiles.
Target Muscle first, then gather enough AP to wipe Wave 2 with your nukes. Wave 3 get rid of the Muscle first also and leave the Don for last. All he does is generate AP, which lets you collect AP at your leisure. When you're ready kill the Don with a small ability then wipe Wave 4 in 1 turn with your abilities.0 -
Today's big Enchilada is the most evil node they've ever created. Even with a 166 roster, it took me three goes at it, because it's almost impossible to get past the first wave without the muscle getting any of his giant strike tiles out, plus a few of the ninja's attack tiles, plus you get hit by Colossus's red as soon as the first wave ends.
Also, the thing glitched on me and gave me Punisher in the first wave one time.
The third time, I made it through with Blade/Lazy Daken/Falcon, but Daken was out in the second wave (the board descided to stop dropping blue after he got hit) and Blade went out in the third, but the attack and strike tiles down wiped everyone else out.
The things I do for 2500 ISO...0 -

I ended up using Lazy Thor (maxed), Captain Marvel (level 155) and Classic Storm (Maxed). Two stuns, two aoe attacks, board shakeup, all sorts of fun to be had. Still had trouble with that node (Captain Marvel was the Last Woman Standing with about 400 health) but it was fun.0 -

I used 127 Patch, 127 Black Panther and 127 Spidey. The first wave I have gathered AP and placing a lot of strike tiles, on second I've smashed all enemies without letting them even make a move (2x Rage of the Panther + stun), the third one was a little harder cause no AP left. And the forth one again RotP + stun.
Enemy characters haven't used a single skill (happily because at the last wave they had over 20 red, black and blue APs ).
Strike tiles + AoE + stun - this is good strategy.
But I have to say this survival fight are exciting and can be challenging.0 -
I used a maxed set of Daken / Doc Ock / Falcon. After Inspirations, I was doing enough damage with a single turn to practically or actually KO characters. Octopus took a Debilitating Slash for some damage but otherwise not too hurt.0
-
I have always appreciated Steve Rogers, but this event has made me a true believer. The man is doing work for days on the survival nodes.
I managed to get the Storm using 127 LCap/94 OBW/ 104 Hulk
No idea why I brought hulk in. I think I had this vision of him being the last man standing on my team and then angering to victory. Or to use his green ability to smash goon tiles. If anything it made it super awkward to use with my own Cap tiles on the board.0 -
First, I want to say how much I'm enjoying the Daily Quest. Rewards aside, it's just fun to play something different!
For the whole enchilada, I really like using Blade, Mystique, and MN Mags. Once the Magstique combo gets going the other team hardly gets a chance to make a move and when they do, I've used Blade's black enough that the AP they generate comes right back to me. Very satisfying!0 -
I used 2*Thor, OBW and Falcon again. Falcon didn't get to do much because I used purple to steal AP instead of dropping protect tiles, but I had him there and stocked some blue in case some strike tiles got through, he could take care of them.
I got nailed with a Meteor Hammer early on, and OBW took the hit and I got scared, but after that, she kept everyone healed up pretty good.
After wave 2 I was worried about all this yellow, Blue and Black AP the enemy had built up from wave 2 matches, but wave 3 immediately started using up the AP, Muscle dropping threatens left and right, and Don dropping the black one ever so often. By the time wave 3 finished there wasn't much AP left for wave 4 to use and I was stocked up on AP.
I hit Hood with CotS, then hit him with Red, but forgot about DP jumping in front, fortunately I was able to match away his black tile so he couldn't heal (whew!). I then dropped a bunch of Red attacks on him, then Yellow on Hood, and finished up Gorgon with matches, and any attacks that came up with AP. Falcon took care of a couple of Gorgons fisty tiles (what are they called?) otherwise he sat in back cheering on OBW and Thor.
Got two Moonstones with my Taco Tokens... bummed about that, but I did get 2 covers yesterday, so I'm alright with it. I still love this daily event.0 -

Join the club! Steve is really the pve king!
My team was similar as I used Steve, obw and Cage (mainly for the protect tile and his upper cut). Obw kept the AI AP in check, and Steve shield just do the rest.
The last wave, when hood-gorgon-dp showed up, I had almost 30 Ap on the crucial colors. I stun dp, SSA hood, jab-jab-hook gorgon (1 turn stun), SSA + upper cut Dp. The rest is history.0 -
Steve + Hood + IM40 w/1Yellow can take on almost anything PVE can throw, and yes shine especially well in Survival.0

This makes up for "Fun-Balancing." I hope it's not a limited time thing.0

This is a fun event. Much needed *** covers for many of us players. Unfortunately it doesn't look like I will be able to finish the last node often. My 2 main teams are (all **s): thor(94), daken(94), obw(86) and stormneto (now at 87), hawk(82). Yesterday I barely finished with thor/daken/obw, triple boosting r/g and blue/purple. Today both teams wiped - A team almost completed wave 3 and B team didn't finish wave 2 - both attempts were boosted. Maybe I'm not ready to complete these but man I wanted to be there.0
