It just occurred to me that of the 29 remaining first covers, I can only use 5, and 2 of those would just be re-specced away when I get the colours I want later.

First world mpq problems, I guess. And the iso and tokens are still great (even if I've only managed to get 2*s for all of them except for a 9th blue groot).

The message today's (Sunday 2/22) 4th wave sends me is "This R&G yellow, which would be really useful to teams in an early 2-3* transition phase because of the true heal on a tanky 3* that it represents, will only be available to teams in the mid- to late transition phase who have 120+ level 3*s, and who could probably place in the top 150 of a PvP if we offered it there."

Thanks, guys. Way to help us out.

Not sure what makes you think that. I used Luke Cage (Lvl 85), Ares (Lvl 80) and OBW (Lvl 77), and the survival node was easy. I'm sure I could swap someone like Human Torch for Luke Cage and it wouldn't make a lot of difference in difficulty. The hardest wave was the first one, because I had to make sure the Muscle and the Thug didn't get their CD-tiles off. That's why I consider OBW essential for an underdeveloped and underlevelled roster like mine.

Once you're past the first wave it's a breeze - use your abilities sparingly and aim to collect close to max AP by the fourth wave. Leave the <strike>Don</strike>Empiricist for last in the third wave as he's totally harmless and kill him with matching damage only. Once he's close to death, kill him with a small ability and then nuke the 4th wave in 1 turn.

For reference: I only got hit twice with abilities during the entire match. You have to bring OBW with a 2* roster. She's absolutely essential. Not only does she burst heal and delay CD-tiles, but disables abilities (I had 30 AP in all colors for the 4th wave and OBW was able to siphon off enemy AP 3 times also).

    Used MagStormEye to beat it.

I'm gonna keep it short today: It literally doesn't matter beyond the first wave if you have MagStorm(Sub 3*Cap/Falcon) because you can eff around and gather AP during the first wave to be prepared for the rest. I used 3 WindStorms to take out 4th wave, and not due to lucky matches.

That's survival nodes in a nutshell. Use goon waves to build ap, eff up any characters that pop out.

It could also be a lesson. Learning how to assess the worst threat, stun management and ap denial are all excellent things that will serve all through ones playing experience.

And I alpha striked each character wave with Lazy Thor's Call the Storm (x2). Hooray!

I remember the first time I tried to beat survival. It was tragic.

Then I said, maybe I will give storm classic a try. Steam rolled all the way through.

I can (and have) easily beat all of the dp dailies using her, 2* Thor and OBW. (Except the black panther one. Don't have him)

Thors abilities help feed her green which feeds the entire team with AP. OBW purple helps as well.

Now I am leveling her and using her in all survival nodes when I can.
  • For me it's been CStorm/MnMags/Thor since day one. The only time I needed to redo the fight was when I got a call during the middle of a match and the game reset itself after I hung up.

Thor is a great way of beating down mobs if you absolutely have to take one out before their count-down timer goes off, and by the final wave a mixture of Wind Buffet and Call the Storm will wreck just about any party. If for some reason we were denied the use of Mags I'd switch to OBW in a heart beat, but I dread not having Storm available for any future survival modes. (I'm still in the 2-3* transition and the only 100+ level character I have at the moment is R&G.)

Oh and I handed in my 10 tacos and didn't get any gold covers...but I did get 250 HP...twice! icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • So now that the 5 covers have been completed, what's next for the rewards?

    HP?!?!

    HP?!?!

Commonly thought to reset with the new daily tomorrow to be a new 5-day "week". 5-cover rotations are the thing.
  • I love this event! When does this event end?

I've been using Mystique, MNMags, and.....doesn't matter who the 3rd is. Mag's purple feeds Mystique's blue feeds Mag's purple. Enemy rarely gets a turn after the first wave.

I hope the characters change. We shall see in about 8 hours
  • This is pretty obvious but took me awhile to realise it. Since Goon waves are 1 & 3, and Character waves are 2 & 4, it makes it a lot easier if the Goon waves are finished with skill damage rather than matched damage. This is a lot easier for 2* rosters running the likes of Thor/MNMag/C.Storm.

    AFAIK it's a permanent thing.

Also, it seems to scale based off your characters levels. My gf is in early 2-3* transition is easily able to finish these missions with her 2* 94s, where I have trouble with 3 166s.

    Yeah just tried MagStorm + Hawkeye (all 3 lvl 70) w/all 3 iso-boosts.

There was no way I could just eff around on that goon node to collect AP and hope try to match away all those count downs.
Used a Polarity Shift to be able to fire off 1 Windstorm & generate Speedshot.
Tried to match tiles to let Speeshot go off but I had waited too long to launch the powers.

Goon pistol went off and one-shot my Storm.
Analyst pistol went off next and subsequent matches from the falling tiles offed mHawkeye.
Went ahead and retreated with MnMags.

I can either say my board sucked with what I was trying to do and just try again or this node is going to be absolutely brutal and dash my hopes of getting the one color I lack for my R&G.

    You shouldn't need boosts.

In my opinion MagStorm is dependent on a purple/blue heavy starting board. On a dry board the CD-tiles will go off and cripple you. OBW is crucial for 2* rosters for this node, imo.

I used Luke Cage (Lvl 85), Ares (Lvl 80) and OBW (Lvl 77) and waltzed through the node without any problems. Human Torch should be a good substitute for Luke Cage. In the first wave you have to kill off the Muscle and Thug without them letting get their CD-tiles off (OBW and Ares take care of them very fast), after that it's easy-peasy.

Your girlfriend is just better at the game than you are. It's been well-documented that there's no scaling in the Deadpool dailies - everything is a set, static level for every player.

Well firstly, the person said the node was "designed for 120+ rosters" which I was disproving by saying I did it with MagStorm.

As Magstorm, you aren't primarily matching countdowns.

If countdowns are hurting you, you're not going fast enough(exception of some character countdowns and 3turn pistol/lieutenant heal)

If countdowns are going off, they should either be helping you reach Raging Tempest or buying you time to build AP.

You only need Purple/Blue boost + green/black boost(if you think match will take a while).

Pay attention to who you stun and kill to kill off countdowns.

You should NOT be waiting to unleash speedshot as you said you did.

Gamora, She-Hulk, Spider-man, Daredevil and Deadpool. I need none of those. Well maybe Gamora if it's not green.
