They don't expire, but they won't roll over to the new character set. My husband carried some tokens over and they were on separate screens. Which makes me sad as I could only use one gamora black cover so would have preferred to carry them over.

The final node is crushing me today. Who are people using to best it? (Wolvie, Gorgon, Deadpool final node)

OBW/MnMags/CStorm I've beaten final node 4 times with this roster. I have substituted Modern Thor for Mags once and won that too.

Having someone with a power that can damage all 3 enemy characters is key.

    Great advice! Thanks!

The odds are terrible. One of the only tokens without chance for a 4*. I could see gamblers trying to get the HP rewards from these tokens.

A mixed bag for me, 5/12 I pulled star.pngstar.pngstar.png > covers (two that's no use to me), almost 50% success rate.

Not a big enough sample size, but grats regardless icon_razz.gif

As a transitioner to three star characters, I love the DDQ. I have a good roster of one, two and three star heroes (and some four in early stages), so getting a guaranteed daily three star cover is amazing. I have only had 1/10 golds from the tacos, but have won all but one of the end stage missions. Its great having to use the full roster, and feels like I am making progress.

    Many thanks, D3!

Dang - I knew a day was coming where OBW would be locked out on that one.

Update: not locked out - all good.

I used Blade in it, so I think you can use OBW.

Yes, they recently changed the rules so that characters are not locked out based on waves of enemies

I've actually gotten 2 or 3 ***s from the taco tokens. I've had better luck with tacos than heroics, even though the odds are supposed to be better for heroics (~20% pull for *** or higher for heroics, ~15% for tacos - according to their chart). And I agree it makes me feel like I'm making progress. I haven't even completed leveling the **s that I want to level (stormneto at 92 now) and I feel like my ***s are progressing (have 3 with 5 or 6 covers). Need LRs to inject iso now that my pve ended - wonder why they don't start LRs at the completion of slice 1?

    some thoughts:

    1. For those complaining that they don't need this cover or that cover: Congrats - you have some well covered *** characters and you might not be considered the 'transition' player that the event was designed to help. Maybe the big enchilada isn't worth the 250 iso from selling the cover, but the rest of the nodes sure as hell are worth an extra 2000 iso a day (1500 from nodes and 2 taco tokens - with a chance at pulling hp). And if you need other covers for these characters, be patient - I assume they will all rotate through eventually.

    2. For those complaining that they don't have the required character, so they can't get the guaranteed cover: Unless you either have stockpiled hp or are willing to shell out $ consistently for roster spots, if you have been active at all recently you should be scrounging for hp and roster spots with all of the new characters lately. I actually got the the point when a gold card came up I prayed that it was one I had and not a new one (other than some key ones I don't have). This event is pretty adeptly designed to develop what you have, which was really lacking. With all the new characters, the token pull rate has gotten so diluted and spread out that character development ground to a near halt.

really I see no downside to the event and how its set up - especially now that characters aren't locked out of nodes. However from a purely selfish point of view, the big enchilada could used ~20 less levels in the opponent characters icon_e_smile.gif
  • We're starting to get some thread proliferation, so I'm going to offer a suggestion - we might want to create one fresh thread for each of the five-day runs, and use that to discuss issues specific to that run (which are probably going to mainly be node strategy and builds for the five characters). We're getting a lot of one-off "today's Daily Deadpool" threads and we might want to pare them down and consolidate them a bit.

    Something like this, maybe?

  • So far the impact on my roster from DDQ is minimal. 0/13 from the tokens and from the 3* rewards only She-Hulk (doesn't really interest me) and Luke Cage were needed. The only good I've seen is the ISO which is decent. Oh well, maybe it will be more interesting once we get to better heroes and powers.
  • Today was the first day that I couldn't compete (since I don't have she-hulk) and honestly I'm not that upset about it. icon_e_smile.gif

I still took the iso and the Taco Token and told myself "Tomorrow is a new day"

People should try that, it really works icon_e_wink.gif

cMagneto, Black Panther, Luke Cage, Grocket, Deadpool, Gamora not good enough now?
Even Mohawk, Daredevil, Spidey are merely mediocre (great in PvE) and She-Hulk is bad, but that's about it.

Daredevil I'd argue is now pretty good, and extremely good against certain opponents. His Blue can be maddening, his purple is good against anyone who makes a bunch of special tiles (Daken/Blade/Bullseye/Rocket and Groot/Patch), and his red is still one of the most damage-efficient moves in the game. On top of that, his red may make him very effective against Cyclops's yellow. I'd put him at just behind Lazy Cap now, probably.

    - Granted, yellow BP is good, but he is an old character. Most have him covered already.
    - CMags' yellow is not a good ability. Maybe decent, but not good.
    - Luke's yellow is also his worst ability. 13 AP for ~4k damage? BP deals almost the same amount to the entire team and you need 1 less match.
    - My Gamora is still very low, so I don't know how good she is. Her red seems to be her obvious strong point, but the other 2 take too long. The usefulness of black depends heavily on how many colors she covers. With 3 colors (most of the time will probably be 2), and assuming there will be 8-10 team-up tiles, she will get out strike tiles of total strength 600-900. Still, she is probably among the best in the list. Her green is not that impressive and even worse if it used while the enemy team has 3 members alive because the active member gets to react. For 12 green, I'd like to use something that will kill something and not delay the game.
    - Grocket - I couldn't get the cover because I have 0 covers of him. Seems good character, so this one was worth the cover. His green doesn't seem to be worth the 10 AP, but his blue is great if it goes off. I suppose his most common use is as a tank though and to fill a blue hole in case you have covered all other colors. Looks like a decent 3rd wheel in a XF/4thor team.
    - Deadpool is definitely the one I'm happy about, despite the fact mine (2/1/1) is still far from useful.
    - She-Hulk I am keeping just in case they change her abilities. If in 4-5 months she is still the same, she's going for the walk (away from my roster).
    - Mohawk, Daredevil, Spidey are quite bad. Spidey is unplayable for me. Just a waste of ISO which is why mine is still under 100. Mohawk is very high on my list with the heroes that will be deleted to make room in the roster. It's no wonder I barely see her in pvp teams. Maybe in 1/100. Not worth the HP for the slot. I keep Daredevil for sentimental reasons. The pve that introduced him was the first one I placed #1 and his purple may find some use when I need a purple. He is sitting at 99, but I doubt I will throw more ISO on him. Traps suck. I wish he was more like the pve ninjas. Now they are cool.

In short, the 3 best covers were Deadpool, Gamora and Grocket. BP was a fourth OK. The other covers not so much.

Edit: Btw, my comment was mostly a cry of frustration about token drops, not 3* rewards. They are awesome and is a move in the right direction. Congrats to the dev for doing this right.

I've been loving the Deadpool Daily's and have been crushing the final battle with level 140 Captain America, Patch Wolverine & piddling level 81 Falcon. Now, if a future reward is a Falcon cover, I'll be in heaven!

Luke's yellow does 7k for 13ap. It's his second best skill, not close.

Spider man+blade+falcon in survival nodes means you're getting a big protect tile each time you match purple for blade, and you get a blue stun when the active heroes come. Falcon makes you boost protect and strike tiles and allows you to ignore some countdowns. Spider yellow sucks but works as an emergency button if you're somehow hit by a big countdown or skill.

I've played around with other teams in survival and I will categorically say this is the fastest and the best team possible. I often finish survival nodes having lost a total of a couple dozen health points.
