Anyone got any tips for Essential 18 Vs. (lvl 394/395)

I've run half my roster into the ground and don't know how to deal with the rest of my Sub-3. Anyone have advice for how to handle Sim 42 and all Essentials — without the use of WHALES? I have enough points to clear 3 nodes, but I don't want to waste it if I can't complete the rest.

Sim 42 is level 343 for me, and my roster is in my sig for a better idea of the hurdle I face.
The Deadpool cover is the only reward I needed from this event, so I'm very motivated to finish it.
I'm not afraid of using any boosts as well.

Other than MNMags/Hood/CStorm + boosts & prayer, does anyone have any advice for a 2-star team on Alpine Tactics Essential #10 (Blade/Hulk/Spiderman)? My Hood is only 2/0/1 (Level 53) and that node is repeatedly mopping me up. I don't have any 3-stars with more than 5 covers (and that one is Blade, so no help here). I have all the non-Bagman and Wolverine 2-stars maxed--mostly on what is considered the ideal cover arrangements. My big issue is at their level, Hulk's red & green one-shot anyone I have, Spiderman's yellow undoes ~4 Wind Storm's worth of damage and Blade's black is ~2/3 of any of my characters health, in addition to the AP drain. I can't reliably figure out who to even stun, much less which color to deny (and I realize both of those decisions can be very situational). I've tried Ares/Hood/OBW, but can never steal AP fast enough as I'm only one cascade from disaster. Thor's generally too slow for me against nodes where the opponents are a lot higher level than I am, but I'm open to try anything if people think a team with him would be fast enough. I've been sitting on a lot of boosts waiting for Gauntlet, so I'm not shy with any, although I'm running low on Blue/Purple +1 and AP all +1.

In possibly related news, for the longest time I've had my CStorm at 3/5/5 because green covers have eluded me. Now in this Gauntlet, Raging Tempest might literally be my MVP, as I'm up to nine battles where Raging Tempest saved the day when the rest of my party was wiped and CStorm was near-death herself. Maybe I won't respec her after-all, even if I get can...

Try Mnmags+Mystique + Daredevil/Patch/LThor. You have Mystique at 5 Blue and i'm assuming Mnmags at 5 purple. When you get enough red, just lay down Ambush. Try it a few times and you'll get the hang of it. You'll have to use Punisher for one set of essentials but it'll work as well. Just need to survive their match damage long enough to set Magneto's and Mystique's plans in motion. Not a guaranteed win but it'll give you a chance

Edit: You might have to level ur Mystique though. Didnt see her level

Only team i can think of is Ares and Obw or maybe even Wolverine. Boost red/yellow and blue/purple (and maybe green). Steal whatever AP you can to set up Sunder or Adamantium slash. I would suggest taking out Blade first. Imo Obw shld have 5 Blue covers to ensure you get some healing in case Blade's CD tile is out. Also i've heard you can time sunder with anti-gravity to get some true healing? (Not sure abt this) If using Ares, store up green to hopefully one shot Hulk (tough i know). Use Hood to absorb ability damage if unavoidable.

I just happened to use that true healing trick.

Use anti gravity when you can heal ares at least the amount he loses initially. Then use sunder, which takes away the temporary health only, when the CD tile goes off, you just turned that temp health you lost into true health.

Ideas for Sim 32 - GSBW/Deadpool/3 Thor?

Characters I have to work with: DD, 2 Cap, 2 Torch, 2 Mags, X-Force, Falcon, Blade, Spidey.

I start attacking 3 Thor, then stun Deadpool before a major attack on Thor, but can't do enough damage to Thor. I feel like an ant trying to take down an elephant.

What are your covers and levels for ur roster?

I'm assuming you dont have a fully covered xforce.

You can try DD (if he's fully covered with 4 or 5 red), Mnmags and Spidey/torch/cap.

Purple and red are the colours to go for. Deny green if necessary. Set up ambush and use mnmags purple to trigger it by creating a match 4 or 5. Use blue to stun (either DD or cap or Spider) when the time calls for it. I would take down Deadpool first so that he doesnt step in to take damage and create a healing CD tile. Thor is a close second.
Torch is a good 3rd wheel to burn off any green you have to deny the AI. Xforce too

Sorry for leaving out specifics of my characters. DD has only one red cover, so I think I'll try MNMags/Torch/Spidey. Thanks so much for the help!!!

Any advice for the Essential 16 ?
Usually my team is Punisher / OBW / Hulk maxed and I can't use OBW and Hulk since I'm facing OBW/Luke Cage/Hulk.

I have one Whales left but I don't want to use it if I can't succeed the Essentials 17 & 18.

I finally beat Essential 18 with , survived it all with full HP & low HP & KO'd. My star player has to be he barely got a scratch after KOing & then stunlocking & & even outside of stun, if the AI foolishly matches red, mass damage inflicted upon them

What I did find out on my own, was that it was better to go after loki first. Yes that luke cage protect tile is annoying, but loki stealing your AP is worse. Every time I tried to take cage out first, I never got him down below 50% health before getting wiped.

What I did.

Team:
X-force
Punisher
Hulk

Boosts
3x red/yellow
3x black/green
L5 Thunderstrike

I got a 5-match I was able to get surgical strike off(got reds I believe) by round 2 on loki which led to cascades. I then got my calculator out and made sure he was under the 40% needed(39.2%!!) and used retribution(which I believe was fueled by the surgical strike, if not, I happened to have collected enough red to do it).

Next was cage cause of that protect tile. I stockpiled black/green/red, and looked for an opportunity where the enemy team matched that protect tile, or was able to clear it out on my own(xforce/surgical strike/Anger to clear it). Luckily, the enemy team did this for me and I was able to hit xforce a couple of times on him to set up another retribution(which actually came on another round cause I remember having to deal with that protect tile again. But I had the damage done I needed to him). Then Thor.. which was basically chipping away at her with more xforce strikes. All in all, I'd say I used 5-6 xforce strikes on this battle, maybe more.

All three of my character survived.. Hulk was in the worst shape of the bunch, but that was by design, the others were 50% or above. I kept firing off the xforce heals as often as possible, but had to take chances on accidentally wiping it out with an xforce strike several times due to the situation. I had to use thunderstrike at one point either during the cage or thor portions.

Edit: Just saw another reply to the same node. I may have tried that if my DD was leveled. But would not have been an option for me.

This, so many times. I finally just said "forget this, WHALES." I always ran out of juice by the time I got to 4hor each and every time. It is impossible to deny 9 blue for that long. Once that goes off, it is honestly just a matter of time.

For those without Whales, may boards be kind to you because I threw Hulk/Patch, XF/Hood, XF/Anyone multiple times without the W. Closest I got was with XF/Blade. Got a Nightstalker out early and 2 purple attacks, kept AP in check most of the match while breaking through the protect tile for damage each turn. SS after that. It's a lot of black to ask but I think I was within 3k of winning. That was my best, non-whales, shot.
