I remember reading something about leveling up 3*s to 103 or something, what was the reason for that specific number?
TBH, I don't know the answer to your first question. Not sure if anybody does, given that no one is sure exactly what goes into your scaling other than the average level of everybody on your roster.
People level up their 3*s to 103 because at that point, 2*s still do more match damage than them, assuming the two have the same color order. Once you level a 3* to 104, they start doing more match damage than a 2* (and go out in front when doing so).0 -
You know when brats lie down and kick and punch at the ground because they're frustrated? These 3h timers make me want to do that.0

Why do people seem to think that people who don't play much should be moren rewarded than those who do?0 -

Yeah...good thing that these are going away after this PvE! So much more real life friendly the 8 hours refresh...0 -

It uses the pre boosted level because otherwise it'd be literally impossible for someone to win anything if they've say a level 40 featured hero as their highest character, because everything will be scaled against a level 130 character even though that guy is 1/0/0!
It's almost certain that scaling goes up as your level increase and you don't get a proportional amount of benefit so you want to keep levels low. The exact number you choose to stop doesn't matter, but you might as well keep it near your 2*s. At 103 I'd imagine that way your 2* is 94+40 = 134 while your 3* is 103+30 = 133 so it's easier to work with for tanking order for all your minor buffed characters. But it's not like stopping at 94 or 114 is going to make a huge difference. 100 sounds about right as that gives you more flexibility to work on who is tanking what colors given the 3* minor buff is 10 levels less than the 2*.0 -
Phantron wrote:It's not some kind of universal law that every PvE event must last exactly X.5 days. I can only assume it was done because before time slices that was a way to rotate sub ending time but that's no longer necessary.
Pretty sure they used it for spacing. Event started at noon EST, ran for X.5 days, ended at midnight EST. Take 12 hours to rest, start next eventPhantron wrote:Rubberbanding has been ultra weak recently and on a heavily grinded event it wouldn't matter because the places that you really care about are all going to be in a range where rubberband is irrelevent unless you just started the event on that day. It's likely a bloodbath no matter what but because the final node features The Hood + Magneto at 150% of their normal levels (for being down a person), it might be slightly less of a bloodbath as that kind of combination is relatively difficult to do for someone who is used to low level scaling. It probably wouldn't be enough to matter, but at least at 150% of their normal levels it might filter out some of the level 100 guys.
Rubberbanding has been weak and points seem very low in this event, but as someone who entered a fresh bracket late in the first sub, having main nodes rubberbanding off the global leader means that I (and everyone around me) will be picking up more points per node than someone who entered as the event began. That means that every extra clear, every bad cascade has an even bigger impact than it does for someone who played the first 28 hours of the event that I skipped, as there are potentially more players who are within striking distance for top50.
This was a format that I thought they had eliminated based on our critiques of it. And maybe they have, after all I am just guessing at how this event will play out, since there is no schedule of events and no consistencies from one run of an event to the next.0 -
48 hour subs are too long and 36 hours doesnt end at a good time for most. They should put out subsequent subs at 24 hours.
Anderson Inc is just becoming a drag right now and a painful one at that.0 -

Agree that anything more than 24 hours with a 3 hour refresh is stupid. However, with the 8 hour refresh, I am fine with a 48 sub. It is really the massive quantity of 20 iso rewards that makes the longer subs not work with a 3 hour refresh.0 -

True too. But with 24 hrs we can have more events and subs. (and covers).
On a separate note, it's a pity team ups dont drop more often. The 20 iso grind will be sweetened a lot more if a lvl 305 (or high level) Ares onslaught team up is given more often. Felt so good to get that team up
Edited : Or any other high level team up really. Lvl 200 Devour anyone?0 -

I thought so too, but in this pve both I and my buddy have 320 lvl highest node (Ares Bullseye goon), my max char is 172 and his 250 (but we both have buffed Thor to 256 lvl).0 -
NorthernPolarity wrote:So I've been in contact with IceIX, and he linked me to this post on the forums regarding PvE scaling: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5451. It turns out that leveling your guys does NOT matter, and that the main factor that affects scaling is how much damage you take during a match. Specifically, it's the HP % differential from when you start the match to when you end the match, with the node difficulty taken into account (the game won't lower your levels if you deliberately wipe to a trivial node that you shouldn't be wiping in). Leveling characters indirectly affects it because your guys start off with more HP and take less damage, but there isn't anything explicitly programmed that says "if your highest guy is level 270, +70 levels). I'm going to revise my guide at some point to reflect this, but my original advice of leveling two guys to max is still the optimal way to go then. The only thing that deliberately underleveling your guys will do is make it easier for you to lose more % HP (since your guys are lower HP to begin with). Leveling 3*s therefore can only hurt you, since you can get the same effect as having a 2* roster by just taking more damage during fights.
This is directly from Polarities guide (which everyone should take a look at in my opinion!
Hope this helps for scaling0 -
SY is now open, and everyone that played when it was open by mistake now has a sizeable lead in the sub. I thought they would reset the sub to 0 but they didn't0

While we are on the scaling subject, does anyone know if boosts cause it to go up?
My Ares/Empiricist node has been reasonable up until this point, I boosted twice last night for that fight and it has now gone up over 40 levels...No other node seems to have anywhere near an increase like that. Can't be coincidence.0 -

I did one clear and the top score in my sub is close to 3 times my single clear while top 10 is about double.
Utter ****.0 -
Well. When the Scotland Yard sub reopened in the 1st slice, the leaders in my bracket already had 4k4196pts and I had 0pts. After I ran a full clear, I have 4196pts and they all have twice that. Unless they stop playing there will be no way to catch them. I was in 3rd when 1st sub closed. Now I can't break into top 5 anymore. Seems pointless. More pointless than usual anyway.0

All the nodes do not go up at the same time or by the same amount. The higher the lvl of the nodes is bigger the increments. Anyhow assuming scaling does take into account how much damage you take - which seems true as I have won matches and have had the scaling drop because I was 95% dead. Boosting will probably mean you take less damage and hence increase the chance of the levels going up. As a point of reference I think over the 48 hours my Anderson V node climbed to just north of 323. I was amazed it did not go up in the final hour grind as I was saying in alliance this morning that I would assume it would hit about 350.0
