I did one clear and the top score in my sub is close to 3 times my single clear while top 10 is about double.

Thick as Thieves: a total disaster, every time. That's the D3 guarantee!0

Just misssed ANOTHER sub ending. Went from 14~ish to rank 50.
Oh well. Here's to hoping Mr. Quinn is kinda terrible.....0 -

Very interesting. So basically you want to save boosts to speed up grinding at the very end. Using boosts earlier will force you into an endless cycle of needing to use them to negate the scaling penalty.
So can you tank harder nodes then? I know it says you can't tank trivial...but what about throwing a "C" team at a hard/deadly node?0 -

After I ran a full clear, I have 4196pts and they all have twice that. Unless they stop playing there will be no way to catch them. I was in 3rd when 1st sub closed. Now I can't break into top 5 anymore. Seems pointless. More pointless than usual anyway.
I made my usual clear when it opened the first time without realising anything was amiss, but I agree it's unfair to have people start the sub with the points they got from the last go.
Though, it would have been funny if the countdowns had been retained and everyone who grinded the sub while it was open realised they would have to wait 16 or so hours for the nodes to refresh...0 -

I think it's lame that we would have to resort to tanking to control PvE scaling, but it is what it is I guess.0 -

I just lost 2 times in a row (complete wipeout) while doing normal node (Anderson IV). My scaling from Anderson V went from 213 to 190 after those two losses. It just sucks seeing the lower end of my roster all dead loool. I'm going to continue wiping out and see what happens to my scaling.
EDIT: I just tanked 8 times in a row and scaling didn't go down lower than the 190. I guess theres some sort of cap to tanking and scaling?0 -
Has there been any official announcement about this issue?
I am in slice 1 and still holding onto top 10 but just barely and I'm hitting things pretty optimally. I have been trying to follow this thread to see if there was an more news but might have missed a post or two. As I didn't do the Scotland Yard when it accidentally opened up the first time I am still sitting behind some of the leaders by over 10k points. I am ok with them not taking their points away but figured they would at least adjust their timers but I see that the leaders have done a full clear and got the same points that I just did. I don't really know what I expect D3 to do about this but an acknowledgement of some kind would be appreciated even just to say we know there is an issue and are trying to plot the best course of action for everybody.ironsmudgie wrote:Well. Maybe some kind of anti-tanking threshold? Either that or you've reset your multiplier completely and can't go any lower.
Still I'd like to figure out what determines the base levels and multipliers, but this probably deserves it's own thread.0 -
Interesting to say the least... Hopefully 190 will allow me to beat that node considering my highest characters are level 94s lol0

I tried this as well and lowered Anderson 5 from 291 to 266. With my highest at 135, still not manageable. I tried it last night after a triple clear of the other nodes when it was at 230 and I was toast is 6 or 7 turns.0 -
Yeah, I've tanked more and I'm unable to reduce it past ~216. I'll keep trying and see if it drops.
Interesting to compare levels on V. My soft cap is 114, and I've pushed pretty hard for the last 3-4 events so I'm fairly sure my PvE MMR is pretty high.
Cap: 114 --> 135 = 18% increase.
Anderson V: 216 --> 266 = 23% increase.
Considering that PvE boosted chars are a flat +x level rather than a percentage, PvE still seems to favor the softcapped roster.0 -
I have a theory that your scaling can only drop if it looks like you had a legitmate shot at winning, but if you had a legitmate shot at winning, why not just try to win? Not that this theory makes a whole lot of sense, mind you, since if you went in and tried to win and got totally owned, that should still mean the node is too hard for you so it should drop in difficulty if we're trying to be fair, and a lot of time this is the normal result even when you're trying to win against certain nodes so no pretending is needed.
There used to be code that detect 'taking practically no damage' but I think they got rid of it because it was causing more problem than it's worth. I noticed that even a heavy grind at the end of an event doesn't increase scaling noticeably, so it makes me think scaling is heavily weighted by the community scaling. From very early on it was obvious that the game took the higher of your personal scaling and community scaling back when certain events like Simulator Basic used to display your personal scaling (via the starting nodes unrepeatable nodes, because community scaling has to be constant there since everyone can only beat it once). It's not clear if this is still the case but if community scaling isn't the dominant factor, then personal scaling must have been reworked to scale as a function of your PvE points instead, and that can also explain why it doesn't go up much because you're getting relatively little points for the final grind even if you're beating a large number of nodes.0 -

My Anderson is 333 and I have no idea what the game uses as my base level. I guess it can be 270, but that obviously wouldn't make too much sense. Though this node is one where having any 'strongest color drain' greatly trivalizes the encounter. Having X Force or Blade will basically get you a ton of green AP and even if you don't have X Force, Thor is more than adequate as an outlet for green AP. In fact with goons pretty much always owning the highest match now, the 'strongest color drain' mechanism is even more powerful than it was before as now you're sure you're hitting a color they'll have a lot of AP in, versus in the past there's no guaranteed a villian's strongest color is the one he happened to collect a lot of AP in.0 -
Keep it up Phantron I see you on the top10 leaderboard! (I'm no where near this time around as im 68th)0

That is interesting. It also partially explains why when I've been messing around with 2-star Cap, Ms Marvel and a 3-covered Squirrel Girl on the current sub my scaling has kept pretty stagnant instead of going through the roof like in the earlier sub. Fortune favors the ones who screw off during the event, apparently...0 -
Can anyone hook me up with the alliance score for T50? Of course if you can see that board.
Much appreciated0 -

I'm really sorry about the noobish question (and I AM aware it's noobish), but how the hell is it possible that a guy with his characters no higher than lvl 70 already has 65+k points, while I, playing just about whenever node timers reset (minus nights) have barely hit 20k (with quite a few of my 3* chars nearing their caps or at least being well above lvl 100)?0
