  • It was only for Slice 1. It was open for roughly 3 hours before they pulled it.

i see lukewin, thanks for clearing me up.

woud u mind explaining me then the massive loss in placement? i grind, i hit every refresh, i put essentials and goons down to 16hrs refresh. i went to bed 5 hrs before andereson ended. when i woke up (2 hrs into scotland yard node) that silver88, who i never saw in top10, is first in scotland yard with 10k more pts than me. TWO HOURS INTO SCOTLAND...

i dont wanna exploit anything, and if he grinded every thing and wants to play in 16 hrs again, fine. but i highly doubt that.

    There's your problem right there.
You can't miss the final 5 hours of the subs, that's a full refresh.
You need to grind everything down to dust in the final two hours.

I'm on track for T5, although that Ares/Juggs essential is brutal, and makes triple-clearing before bed a royal PITA.
Hopefully weaker rosters will get weeded out a little bit now, that essential should be a show stopper for some.

Pray to whoever you believe in that the nodes in the main are either non-repeatable or that at least RB is turned off.
I'm afraid that non-repeatable is out though, since it lasts 24 hours.

They have probably off or go to school. That's my guess.

I had every clear and still lost 4 places, now on 8. The problem is, I keep up with the others through the sub but I can't grind long enough at the end because I run out of health packs as a F2P player.
  • I stayed up late last night (weekend!) to do a clear after the subs reset (I'm in Slice 4) and I think it got me back on track for top 50 (I'm around 30-40th now). It also convinced me to never pick slice 4 again, since missing the beginning of each sub has been killing my score. I guess there's slice 3, but that's not exactly good, just less bad.

You were down at least 6,000 points to our sub-event leader and now you're on pace with the overall bracket leader.

Are you ...not sleeping? Pulling a locked?

I was down 10K on Adamical in the 3rd sub as I only had 167 Points. I tend to do double clears at night so sleep for around 5 hours. I am doing it by basically ignoring PvP just about every health pack going into PvE to keep my personal scaling under control since the global on is bad enough. I flopped into top 25 and 856 in High Stakes where I would normally had gone to 1K to get the Elektra cover. Going to have to do the same in the current PvP also but at least I do not need IW cover.

I won't hold it against you if you wish to pvp some and skip a rotation.

Simple, you slept through a transition. That is where the biggest point swings occur
  • I'd like to give a shout out to She-Hulk. She's been surprisingly good to me this PvE so far, her red skill smashing the lower part of the screen for board shakeup and special tile clearing, and her blue skill saving my ample posterior many times over when there's two or three countdown tiles at 1 turn to go. Thanks, Shulkie. You're a true hero.

    Officially hate this event

Subs at 48 hrs leaves scaling to go sky high
Ares/Jugs is no fun at above normal levels. Heck, Ares at any buffed level.
And the reward is a new 4* with only t50 getting the covers
Stuck in a bracket of grinders cos it's a new 4* with only t50 getting the covers

    Ugh

Falling asleep before the end of the sub/beginning of next sub means I'm down and out of T5. Guess I should have not celebrated a friend's birthday haha. 'Twas a good run, good luck to you Spoit. Will have to fight to keep my T10.

This event is reason #1 why I can't wait for 8hr refresh times, haha.
I missed 1 clear and thought a node ended 24 hours sooner than it did so I triple cleared it only to realize my blunder. I'm hoping I can pull something together to get back to the top of my T2 bracket, but not looking favorable :[

Yeah, I sympathise with you. I'm in your bracket, and I had that moment of hubris where I thought I might get top 5 in this event, but I just can't seem to keep up with some other people clearly more dedicated to regular clearing than me. I missed the opening of the third sub by about 1.5 hours and that kinda did me in for top 5 I guess although I'm stil trying to keep up for top 10 at least (fingers crossed, knock on wood, etc.).

During the first sub I think I was sort of on pace with you, but toward the end of that sub I knew I couldn't keep up. And to be frank I have no real long time need of Star-Lord yet as I'm still transitioning to 3*, but since I have the time to play for it I might as well go for that second cover is my reasoning, always might come in handy in he next PVE.

Anyway, good luck trying to get top 1, I really hope you get it! May the luck of the cascades be with you...

I have no clue how you two jumped 9-10,000 points on this. As long as I keep top 5 it's cool but I'm floored.
    Good luck gentlemen,

    Good luck gentlemen,

D3 killed my chances of first after they let everyone keep their points when sub 3 opened for those 2 hours. Just going to put the points on the board over the weekend so I can avoid having to deal with the hood when the main fires up.
  • This event is CRAZY over competitive slice 1 top 10 is KEEP changing and everyone seeks dont sleep...

level scaling is crazy. i m a transition er and the level is over 200! becuase 1 have a 94 lv 3* thor....
  • I've been out of work due to the tragedy of my last boss shooting himself, so crushing it at pve in MPQ has been pretty easy.

I delayed the start of the event by 12hrs with the help of the bracketing thread. I was originally waiting to join slice 4 as usual, but I thought, why not give 9am a try. I'd be up, pretty fresh, and even if they did a 12 hr somewhere it'd work just as well. It has been working pretty well, and idk if I just lucked into an easier bracket or what, but last I checked I had a 14k lead on #2... which like Sumilea said will come in super handy for not having to even bother with that hood node upcoming. I've been able to clear pretty optimally, not missing refreshes when awake, maybe a 30 min delay here or there for life stuff like helping the wife put dinner together. I do one double tap before bed right about when my timers are at 1-1.5 hours, which puts them at about 6 hours on the first ones before I go to bed, and while they are all fully refreshed when I wake up, they haven't been that way too long.

I mentioned the information about tanking pve nodes a bit in our alliance's line chat, and its worked for some, and not at all for others. Some feel the can't handle the nodes at the level they have them, and I mentioned its likely just the community scale pushing them up at this point if trying to tank it down didn't help. Others tried to tank some nodes that were really not that bad imo for the rosters they had, and I was not surprised when it didn't work too well for them. These were already peeps that seem to have a decent grip on controlling character leveling, weren't using boosts much, etc., which told me their personal scaling was being kept pretty well in check with what they were doing. Kinda good news/bad news when it comes to a node you don't feel you can beat anymore.

Its also pretty easy to see that regularly reading and taking part in the forums gives a pretty decent information edge over the general player base. Correcting the continual stream of mis-information or generally bad advice starts to seem tiring (large alliance group with 8 separate alliances all trying to kill it in pve, all of which share the same line chat). On the other hand its really satisfying when the information you are giving helps the overall, or when that tip you gave someone on a character combo or tactic works really well for them. I've become the resident roster advice guru, which often means stopping and coming to look at the forums, because I'm still well behind the folks I consider experts here. Now if I can just get everyone in the alliance conglomeration to stop spending all their iso on boosts, my job may very well be complete. Its gotta be seriously addicting for some... heh

Scotland Yard V (174)- Going down consistently with Patch/Ldaken(4/3/2 114)/Loki(5/5/2 95). Every other run at it I have to sacrifice Daken
Scotland Yard VI & VII(257&292)- Lcap/falcon/IM40. This this team they can scale to the moon, it'll just take a little longer to clear.
Scotland Yard III (129)- Cap/IM40, same as above, but its nice to be able to drop a CotS on them occasionally. Nice thing about FatThor essential
Scotland Yard VII & IX (147&164)- Mixing in all my top characters. Everyone seems to be getting the job done that I've leveled decently. I have yet to wipe (ouch, self jinx), but I do take massive damage every run at them. 2 Dead characters is the norm with whoever is left standing trying to cleanup Moonie. I did a Mag.stique on them a few times, but it takes too tinykitty long to work through all the health on the hp-class of characters in those. FatThor is a good beefy tank to take some hits for you if the combo ends up stalling. I can see how he's a top character...

I see you in first right now icon_e_biggrin.gif great work. I feel the same way about top 5 but I'm creeping up there. Might be able to sneak in but not having those early points is really hurting me. Still hoping for some kind of response from D3 at the end.

I pop into first after every refresh cycle at the moment because I start mine a little before Worri. There is basically half a refresh between us.

over in the bug forum someone posted their ticket response,
Thank you for contacting D3P Customer Support.

We are truly sorry for any inconvenience that has been caused to you, and are thankful for the feedback you have submitted.

Rest assured that the email you received about possible widespread compensation was not an automated reply. While it may not look like it at first glance, it did directly address your issue.

Additionally, we have an update we can share regarding this issue. It has been determined that the players who had access to the event during the short time it was active had very little impact on the overall rankings and we believe there is a more than fair chance for other users to catch/pass these users on the leader boards. As such, we will not be taking any additional actions regarding this issue.

I was wondering what happened to you. I was nipping at your heels from 6th before the end of our sub last night. I think top 10 should be safe as long as you don't let up.

Oh I am just imaging what would happen if I said that to my students about the scores in one of their projects. icon_eek.gif
