    Agree with this.

Ragnarol on this node is unstoppable - I'm making about 6 matches maximum before my team is eventually cascaded/green/redded to death.

    It's a health pack sink. AVIOD icon_redface.gif

I think I got this after one or two turns - luck and OBW and then some more luck and I forget who else (maybe Thor?) but I just tried to make sure I kept matching green before they could and somehow it worked.

Is it just me, or are the node points extremely low this iteration of the Hulk event?
Normal nodes are in the 100-300 range, hard nodes are 300-600, the essential Luke Cage node is 600 and the Punisher one is worth less than regular nodes for a higher difficulty (<- ****?!)

So much for "a more accurate difficulty assessment"
Juggs fed green isn't EASY at any level.
  • Finally getting that red Luke cage cover made all the difference in this event. Went from using 2 or 3 health packs on him per clear to getting through using none or possibly 1. Me likey buffed cage!
  • Yeah, Rags fed green by 2 goons is the epitome of how to lose by cheesy moves that usually won't bother you much. The power spam is the most annoying thing, as you have to deal with one, if not both of his board shakes every turn. Even 5 yellow card patch doesn't hold up to it. I'd forgotten this node was in the Hulk event, and I literally groaned when I clicked into the node and saw the setup. I used to be able to do this node fairly easily boosting up Magnestorm, but now that I've completed the transition, they don't have the health to get their thing going before one of them gets squashed. Much like a gauntlet node, I imagine I'll eventually get it, but everything I've thrown at it in 5-6 attempts this morning has failed to even make a dent. I think once I get it, it can just sit there for the rest of the sub and gloat in the corner, knowing how powerful it is.

Cage is my favorite new character to roll out in some time. It doesn't hurt that he makes a great addition to Magne.stique. Already being able to punch a 10k+ hp target down with the 30 black you eventually get is gleefully fun, plus there is bit of a chance to cast his yellow just from cascade freebies. If my stats are correct, a Maxed cage will cover Mags on red, while Mystique will cover him on purp/blue, which means he'll get hit by anything only on rare occasion (notably aoe, should the ai ever get the AP for it). Add Cage's protect tile that'll insulate them from the majority of match damage till the combo gets going... Their biggest bane will be AI combos that have quick powers like leveled ares, jugs, daken, etc... but those are the bane of most character combos anyway.

Hood blue... I've gotten 2 in my 275 days played... so with any luck I should be able to finish him in another year. icon_e_confused.gif I'm going to try like hell to get one in Cage's pvp, but the bar on T25 seems to raise every single time I shoot for it. Like, yeah, I'm so close... except I'm actually so very far away because *gaining* an extra 50 points when you start losing points as fast as you win them... just impossible with limited health packs. Bring in your B-team to try to get another node done, and then you are losing twice as fast as you gain. I think in this case tho, the reward might actually justify an expensive shield hop.

yeah im digging him too. glad i went ahead and pushed top 50 in that last pve to get black and yellow. i was almost going to float down to 150 and scrap him rather than open a new roster slot. soooo glad i didnt do that icon_e_biggrin.gif

The last sub-events (Bolivia, Nevada) are 24 hours.

Bolivia has a Punisher essential node that you have to beat Moonstone twice to get to, which means clearing Bolivia II twice. There's a Cage essential as well.

Nevada has just a Cage essential.

Edit: Nevada II is Juggernaut + sniper x2. So instead of Godlike Power alternate turns, it's Unstoppable Crash with the occasional Headbutt thrown in.

It wouldn't be so bad if the snipers occasionally used the green instead...

24 hours is actually good news. reaching burnout stage on this event although more tokens has been nice.
  • Finally knocked rags +2 ap feeder node down with Mags storm n hawk. 13 min heal on hawk when match victory was attained. Amazing what those toons will do with a cooperative board

Is there that much of an advantage working for a Hulk Cover Pack card vs a Heroic Cover pack card for somebody trying to make the 2* to 3* transition? I already got the Luke Cage red card for cumulative points, and at times this weekend I just don't feel like working enough to make 50 vs top 200...
  • Hats off to continuing a history of making truly garbage levels which serve to stifle player engagement as well as guarantee to annoy the few who have good enough characters to suffer past these idiotic nodes.

What isnt to love about fighting your way past a level 160 juggernaut with matching snipers for the benefit of a standard recruit token. Well done. Golden dunce caps for everyone.
  • You know, TPR, the game hasn't changed much. It's still the same game you've been playing, and it will still be the game you're playing months from now, if your record is an indication. If this game has changed, it's gotten better. Sure, a few hiccups have occurred: temporary healing and several character nerfs come to mind, but that has all been to your benefit. It's leveled the playing field for players like you, who have less fun when everyone else is running exploits while you're just trying to have fun.

I notice you like to complain about the availability of prizes. Sure, it would be nice to get more prizes, but what happens when everyone gets more prizes? How does the game work? It's a free game, so it can only exist if players are paying money. They wouldn't even turn the servers on if there wasn't a profit, because not making a profit very likely means losing money. If they were losing money, they'd shut this all down and call it a day.

So if you have an easier time getting prizes, others players will have an even easier time, and inflation will happen. We'll have our 3*'s devalued until only 4*'s are even considered adequate. Then we'd end up with 5*'s for the high-rollers to win. And you'd have to face them in PVP with your now-maxed-and-highly-pathetic X-Force/4Thor combo.

As for a level 160 Juggernaut, you're right. I love a good challenge.

I didn't attempt any of the non essential nodes on that sub. I'm sure I can do it, but it just didn't seem like it's worth the effort.

Quite a few nodes in this event fights at least 100 levels higher than their level would indicate.
  • Can we all agree that Snipers that DONT use green producing green and making a HEADSHOT tile whenever one isn't out is stupid?

Also, thank goodness for 24 hour nodes. So tired....
  • 120 Jugg being fed green by 2x snipers that dont even use green.... ****

Yes. While an Assassin at least needs 10 greentile.png before he can put one down, the Sniper having an annoying passive (because it doesn't consume AP; it's like a Sniper Rifle using Cage's Unbreakable mechanic) is fine.

The Sniper having an annoying passive but still generating 2 greentile.png a turn so Ragnarok/Juggernaut can constantly shake the board is idiotic.

Fighting Moonstone/Venom/Bullseye was more brutal than it appears on paper. Between heavy protect tiles, rapid stuns and an ill-timed Photon Blast I needed to either constantly heal with Anti-Gravity Device or watch two of my heroes at minimum go down. But they only use three colors, and you can deny them AP/Hamper their gains with Espionage. (even if denying purple fueled their defenses). It's a challenge. Beating it was cool.
Fighting Rags/Juggs/Liutenant can be a nightmare, with high/regenerating health pools and constant damage from shakes. But Juggernaut and Ragnarok share the same color pool (albeit cheap abilities) and the Lieutenant doesn't feed them any AP. Again, frustrating, but an actual challenge.

Pairing two snipers with Ragnarok essentially turns the game into Russian Roulette. I didn't feel challenged in this fight. I felt like I was pulling a slot lever each time an unpreventable Godlike Power cleaved the board and hoped he could only do something along the lines of match-3 black to end the turn, or hoping the Sniper countdown tiles were placed in the center columns.
This is why I hated Wolverine in Enemy of the State. Unavoidable Adamantium Slashes. They suck.
Or maybe I just suck at this game. Yeah, let's go with that.

With just under 24 hours to go, Moon Roach is calling it a day on this one. I'll still do the odd clear just for any ISO or 100 ISO tokens, but right now it's mission accomplished.

I need only Blue and Purple for Doom, I'll get that with top 50, I'm #7 with 79k and stand no chance at top 2 which are 35k (!) ahead of me. So as long as I don't drop out of the top 50 I'll be a happy Roach.

Wolveroach is #33, has no Doom at all, and so will play the last 16 hours in his slice.

    I am a bit confused.

In the last set of games (Bolivia), to get to the locked game (Blood on Your Hands), I have to have killed Moonstone twice, but she only appears in the earlier matches once. So either, I have to do her second mission twice to open it up or just wait till the points reset.

Hardly a big deal, but just thought it was strange that one run through of all the available matches didn't open another one up.

(I do though like that there are so few nodes in each set).

Nevada II with Juggernaut + 2 snipers... nearly impossible at current scaling. Don't think it's worth the boosts nor heal packs. Not sure how other people are passing it, or if they're getting lucky.

This is 3 times as hard as rags with 2 snipers.

I was just about to utter the same thing. How the freak am I supposed to get passed that... I am not destroying my roster for this.

I half take back my nice comment of earlier.

Edit - I tried one more combo and it worked - OBW, Thor, whoever (I think it was Torch) and luck. I had a few match 5's early on, which totally saved me and then a couple more scattered throughout the game. OBW even died just before Juggs, Torch (who didn't have much to do) around the same time but Thor saved the day, I had a few times where I was able to match the green sniper tile away and again, a couple more match 5's got me through.

You have to keep red away from Juggs, because you can take 1 hit.... maybe, maybe two (in my case, the second one ended Torch and Juggs)... but after that, you are surely done.

In summary, luck featuring match 5's.

Of course now, most of my usuable roster is dead including all my good boosted characters, but I digress.
