    I`m another transition 2*-3* player. On sim 38 (Loki/Cmags/Juggs) I lost 7 times, at 8th I used this team:
    -She-Hulh lvl 130 (boosted 160) 3/5/4
    -Mohaw lvl 127 5/5/3
    -OBW maxed 3/5/5
Initially a weak team for this simulation, with less health. Without boosts I had a initial yellow cascade , then was incredibly easy. Pink OBW stealth AP, Blue OBW health, Red Shulk and yellow Mohawk more cascades (and green Mohawk cascades and generation AP) and finally black Mohawk deals 500 damage per turn. I killed Loki easy, then I took precaution. Juggs didn't touch red and Cmags didn't touch Blue (but did a Yellow shield, easy broked with cascades). I ended with over booking of AP and lost few HP, a surprise for me. I just Know that OBW is good for PvE and Shehulk works sometimes, but didn't Know that for Mohawk at these levels.

Groot is such a pain in the butt on the Med Gauntlet's last node!

I take out Thor first, Blade second, and always get Groot down to 500 health before he heals up. I need to start remembering to block yellow matches.

Good char design, damn you Groot.

This node, Simulation 28, is the first to down me this round, and it did it twice in a row.
Anyone have suggestions for teams to being to this fight? Whatever I'm doing isn't working.

EDIT: Guess I was just getting bad board layouts before. Went in with GSBWidow/Falcon/BPanther and had no trouble.
Just goes to show, you've got to keep at it, with these harder ones, until you get a board that doesn't hate you.
  • this is a poor unbalanced event with horrible rewards.
there is truely no point in wasting your time for it.
no individual rewards, no alliance rewards, only some small amounts of tokens and ISO and some covers. The same as you can get from lightning rounds.
However the covers here are horrible as well, moonstone and she hulk LOL, all they are good for is to sell for some ISO.

Also these battles depend too much on luck. I could beat the first part of the event without too much trouble. Then 2nd and 3rd mission of the 2nd part are almost impossible.
**** strike tiles dealing 1500 damage per turn on turn 2 or 3 already... yeah, not wasting my time on this garbage
and yes, i call it garbage, its not worthy the name of event.

luckily season 9 starts in 4 hours and i can entertain myself with that.

Have been ignoring essentials and now made it to Level 286 Sim 42 with luck and health packs, without using Super Whales once.

But that final node... I guess I should be happy there is no enemy Hood, is that it? Gotta deny all colors of the rainbow, not sure my Hood is up to the challenge.

What are you guys using to beat this one?

The only thing I can think of is going in with my "if nothing else works" team of LCap/Hood/IM40 (lvl 40, 1Yellow) and hope for the best until it eventually works. Maybe.

I don't think the old 2* ballbreaker of CStorm, MnMags, Hawkeye are going to cut it this time, though they were actually enough for level 260 Sim 40... But XForce is so fast with his green...

Or somehow getting a Sentry bomb to go off enough times to seal the deal??

EDIT: Ok, LCap/Hood/IM40 did the job on the first try, though barely - LCap was the last one standing with mere 1000 health after Striking Distance did in both his companions. Thankfully he was already in full countdown swing and Thor was the last enemy standing herself.

What levels are you guys caving and using whales? I'm trying to avoid it if possible because I probably only have one or two saved up. But Juggs/Loki/CMags is just owning me right now.

I could be wrong, but I think I used Hood/Deadpool/Cstorm on that one. Just the regular Whales though, if that was the team. Maybe twice icon_e_smile.gif

I've seen several people mention this but have not seen nearly enough complaining -- OR -- I and those few other people are missing something very basic.

I have completed gauntlets 1 & 2, all nodes, and was unable to reach the final prog rewards in both. No points remain in the nodes to further strive for progression.

    What gives?

I've been reading some of the reactions to The Gauntlet as a tournament and its difficulty setting, and while I understand you could argue both for and against it being fair I personally find this to be a welcome change of pace from the regular PVE tournaments.

There is hardly any scaling (only personal scaling I believe) and there is no pressure to play every 2,5 hours, only the time needed for your healthpacks to regenerate which should not really be a problem given the 4,5 days for completing The Gauntlet. And while the 3* prizes given out are are not the best out there, I still think they are more than welcome to my roster. This is the third Gauntlet I've played, and while I gave up in the first one quite easily I played the second one to completion. I have most of my characters levelled to 58-64 and have to play against level 180+ opponents towards the end of Global Domination nodes, and that was something I never thought I could beat and the main reason I didn't try the first time around. But persistance and the lure of those 3* covers (and some stubborness on my part) was enough to get me through. Now I'm not saying everybody should be able to get to the end just like that, I'm not even sure I will complete this one myself, but I do think that just trying to through the difficult nodes is part of the fun (people will disagree with me on this no doubt) of the Gauntlet. Of course having only one cover of an essential 3* character makes it even more difficult, but in the words of Johan Cruijff: 'If you don't shoot, you won't score'.. so just keep trying is my motto. I used to think that I couldn't beat opponents of more than 20-30 levels above my own characters, even if they are boosted to level 100-140, but somehow I got it done and went on to beat opponents twice my own level. Sometimes it takes more than a little luck but it can be done.

Now I know that the next PVE will require Loki for the essential nodes, so if you don't complete all the nodes in World Domination you'll have a hard time competing for prizes but compared to the grinding needed to get in the top spots in other 'normal' PVE's I don't think this is much harsher, getting Top 150 can be much more tedious in my opinion.

That being said, it could be I'm just a but euforic because I just beat Simulation 39 with cStorm/MNMags/MsMarvel (3*) with Mags downed and cStorm down to 76 health.. icon_e_biggrin.gif but that victory gave me more satisfaction than playing any PVE every 2,5 hours ever did. Of course I get frustrated by enemy cascades which are enough to get your team wiped and I have use my coveted healthpacks, but I think it's just part of the game and the difficulty which make a victory feel that much better.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone by giving my opinion on this tournament, good luck to everybody!

Advices on beating essencial nodes 16 to 18 anyone? Rest is cleared! Gief that Lóki!!!
  • Final node cleared icon_e_biggrin.gif First try, without any boosts, lvl 312
Team: LCap + Hood (both maxed) + Cap Marvel (141 before boost)
Had some luck with good board, TU - greenflag.png Ares and blackflag.png Mystique (used this).

Patch Hulk. Needs a little bit of luck (cross fingers they don't actually kill Hulk on the big turn and actually cascade a little), but works.
  • Honestly I'd be happe if we had a new Gauntlet every week.

I would not be happy if we had any of the other pve formats every week.

Well, the strategy of Sentry bombing with Black Panther got me past #42. My boosted Doctor Doom Summon Demons team-up from the Rocket & Groot PvE helped, too.

Still need to do the essentials, but so far have only needed to resort to Deadpool points twice -- on #41 and #38.
  • Meh, Sim 39 is being a pain. Almost beat it with lcap/ im40/ obw until a cascade took obw down to 100 health, with one black match being the only available on the board. With her down an the Ai suddenly no longer ap starved, it didn't end well. Unfortunately that was my best attempt. Not a bad run at this while watching tv...

Looking forward to the day I can start using hood. His 2 blue covers don't cut muster yet, and his value is so readily visible in a node like this. I tried using whales... but getting that much purple ap with hood in play was laughably ineffective.

From some of the comments before... we talk a lot about the 2->3 star transition on the forums. It's a common topic, and very often a player identifies themself in that phase, when honestly they just aren't there. There isn't much of a 1* phase anymore. The beginner rosters I see now may have Im35 leveled, m.bw half leveled, with 2-3 2* characters already surpassing them, as well as a few single cover 3* cards. Are these players 'in the trasition'? Not so much. The 2->3 transition doesn't start the day you save your first 3* card to your roster. I thought I was in this trasition myself much earlier than I actually was. There is a key difference between being a 2* player, and being in the trasition to where you have many 3*'s saved with some of them being slightly better than the 2*'s.

    I'm a (player type):
Beginner- I have toons, but no 2* maxed
Building 2*- I've maxed a 2* or two but have more to go
2* player- I've completed the relevant 2*'s. My 3's have little use beyond being a featured or niche character.
Trasitioner- I have many of the 3's saved, and some of them are better than my 2's.
3*- I have fully covered, relevant, 3* characters.
Maxed roster- there's a few covers missing here or the, but I have most of the top characters fully covered and leveled.

I would add here that if you fall into first 4 cate gores you may well have what seems like tons of iso just piling up doing nothing, but do yourself a favor and hang onto it. You'll be wishing you had it later.

This one is killing me too. Last attempt with the 2star delight on Wolvie, StormNeto started great - killed Hood with a Slash on turn 4. Then Sentry dropped a Sacrifice, they made a match3, which cascaded for days - wiped Wolvie, Storm and half of Magneto.

That is why I would throw something if I had to beat these overleveled nodes more than once. The match damage of a bad cascade is one dead or sometimes 2.5 dead. But beating it once, that is a combination of skill (team selection, color denial) and luck. The further you go in the gauntlet, the more luck you need, but beating it once is the key to the success.

Edit: Next try with Hulk/LCap/BP was perfect - only 3hr 15minutes of combined heal time. What a difference a board makes. That team is slow, but they pack a punch (and take one)
  • Stuck on sim 38 cmags loki and juggs

Lcap, Hood, oBW is the cleanest way. If Juggs doesn't have ap, he can't headbutt.
  • If anyone from D3 reads this, can you please deliver a swift kick in the nads to the guy who thought having Daken, Patch, and Blade on the same node was a good idea? This match is 3x longer than it should be because of 4 passives going off every turn.

Edit: Actually, in general, why do half the nodes have Daken anyway? Does some designer have a love for one of the lamest characters on the Marvel roster?
  • Ive no caps L or otherwise
my hood has only blueflag.png 1 and thats it
    my obw is lvl 94 purpleflag.png 4 blueflag.png 4 blackflag.png 5 build
i have my whole roster posted in the topic "roster help?" in tips and guides
If anyone can maybe see a viable option, if not then apox on thee icon_twisted.gif
  • Try 38 time 3 times and no luck....

un beatable...i always think the dev team doesnt plan possibility before introduce content

the designer are brainless . You and me are here only for the band of " Marvel"
