I thought that as well but it doesn't look like it.

I remember there was a post from a month or so back where a player had a crazy strategy where basically he would climb then tank then climb and then throw out a medium defensive team, he was saying that he wouldn't be seen by most except those that probably wouldn't be able to beat him but would try because he was worth enough points. This would allow him to stay unshielded and simply climb off of defensive wins. I remember him saying he could get to 700+ with that tatic, maybe Yama82 has perfected it.

I went searching for the post but I can't remember the title or which section it was in so I wasn't able to find it but it sounded odd when he posted it.

I actually know why from personal experience. Not sure if same thing for yuma. But this is what happened to me.

I hadn't played mpq in 3 months or so? First pvp I played, I got up to about 700 or 800 pts. Left myself unshielded.

I remember once before my hiatus, in all pvp events I would get hit around 600-700. After 6 hours of being unshielded, I started to climb higher and still didn't get attacked. I thought hmm maybe no one can see me. I got up to 1100 or so and won first.

TLDR. Dont play in a bunch of pvp events, First pvp event you come back to, you dont have MMR.

Less than 8 hours left in the match. Yama82 is in third place at 1352 unshielded. In fact everybody in the top 10 is shielded except for Yama82.
No responses from the various X men alliance saying they have a positive sighting of Yama82. I find this puzzling.

OK it might happen that his mmr is very very very low when he cameback to mpq. So he could do 1.3k points on the previous pvp without shielding, i bite that. But now on this pvp he stays unshielded and have 1.3k its very very puzzling and no one can find him.. Dont want call him cheater but its fishy and that no one can say otherwise.

Even if his MMR is garbage, he needs to beat people to get the score. And those people will retaliate. Now you don't tell me he is fighting vs 2 Star teams. Beacause the new MMR leaves the 2 Star teams at under 600. Is he gaining 1 point a match? And those people don't bother retaliating vs some guy for 50 Points?

All that aside your MMR doesn't matter once you go over 600. No matter how much you tank you are greeted by 166s.

I hate the new MMR. Even getting to 800 is a struggle. If you don't have Hood/Sentry on defense you WILL get hit down to 600.

I am growing SO SICK of getting attacked over and over at relatively low scores. Can we please have the treshold moved up to where it was before? That's coming from someboyd who has some 3s already. The 2 Star players have been screwed over even worse.
The truth of the matter is the PvP stops at realistically 800 and from there on its all a shieldhop metagame.

And fix the yama82 ****. People are losing prizes to his 2 Star Roster.

Hopefully this will spur IceX to "look into this more specifically." If he isn't cheating he's sure as hell frustrating the top ten, and doing it for free too

I really hope they check him carefully. Really strange what yama82 is doing again...

He was unshielded all day at around 1100. Never saw that he lost any points today. He has now climbed to 1300 and still remains unshielded...

just jumping in to bump this too. it just doesnt smell right. This dude sits @ 1400 unshielded all day...meanwhile the rest of us are getting tagged for -48 by teams with 600 points 30 seconds into a hop.

if it was simply superiour strategy, more people would be doing it by now. id appreciate further clarificarion or a more in depth look into this. thanks.

lol, I´m in the same game sitting at 1341, been shield hopping all day and currently at #7 getting hit all the time! This guy is at #4 with 1403 unshielded. I´d love to know his strategy having spend close to 1.5k hp on this event already

I noticed sometimes I get hit by guys who seem to be totally legitmate (nothing unusual on their points or behavior) but I do not have a retaliation on them (and I'm obviously not shielded) and I have no idea why this happens but it definitely happens. I wonder if this guy somehow is able to always attack like that.

I've had this a couple of times - every time i was getting hit in shield training, not in the regular PVP.
I just mixed up the two.
Every "normal" attack leaves a retaliation, unless the app decides to download a data patch overnight - in this case I don't even get the "you we're attacked" messages. Which sucks.

On top of that, between the big alliances and some high scoring others (Django, DPT&R, SHIELD, 5D alliances, X-alliances, we're over 200 players), someone would have seen this player available in a node.

If the answer comes back that this player is tanking so much that they're somehow invisible and thus having to do 1 point matches to get that high... I'd rather shield a few times.

What locked posted is similar to the 'no retal' scenario I've seen on occasional basis. It seems to me this guy is deemed as too weak to be seen by the strongest rosters, and normally that wouldn't stop the retals but for some reason he's also leaving no retals behind, and if you combine the two it's obviously very safe to sit unshielded at even very high point totals. I think it's more likely a bug because the 'no retal' situations I run into don't seem to be from anyone who appear to be suspicious as those guys usually have very modest scores.
