I've yet to do it, but it's been said that once you beat that last mission, you can repeat it over and over for 4 iso a pop. Not cheating.
Oh OK, that makes sense. I just assumed it locked like the others.
  • Wow, somebody has 800+ points? That's crazy. I just hit 600 and have finally got a good rhythm going, 10+ battles without eating any flamethrowers/pistols.

It's tough but with the right team and some boosts, it can be pretty easy. I do admit I retreated from battle a few times before a flamethrower was about to hit when I've gotten a **** board (does anybody else hate matching black tiles?). The environmental tiles on that map are pretty useless as well.

As for the rankings, the top 3 get 500 more HP, but I think people are grinding the red Iso more for the other prizes such as the X-Force Wolverine. I plan to somehow get at least one or two of those covers from this event, depending on how the rest of the event plays out

If this event is for 10 days and the board refreshes every 48 hours that would mean (in theory) that we all will have 5 boards to clear. If the standard ISO remains the same for each board (not counting the repeatable 4 iso battle) that means we each will have the chance to win 800 ISO (160 x 5). Since the max prize (for ISO collected, not rank) is 2,000 ISO (for the yellow Wolverince X-Force) that means someone would have to make up 1,200 ISO off the repeatable missions; if the repeatable missions are all worth 4 ISO each (and all my other assumptions are true), that would mean they have to fight AND win the repeatable missions 300 times. Definitely doable over 10 days but wow that sounds boring and slow. I'm guessing (hoping) that at least one of my assumptions is wrong (or my math lol).

What? 2k for a yellow X-Force Wolverine? What bracket are you in and how can I get in on that? lol. 2k is a Yellow Spider Man. 5k is the Yellow X-Force Wolverine. It's a stretch, but it really depends on how the rest of the event plays out. If there are no missions to do today besides the 4 Iso repeatable one, then it's going to be a pain.

I already completed the prologue campaign a week or two ago and I'm not too worried about the tournament ending today as Captain America covers seem to be all over the place and I don't really plan on using him, so there's nothing left to do but grind this Unstable Iso-8 event. It's not that bad once you get a rhythm going and every battle gives you a boost at the end.

Come on hogunner, it's like you said, its F2P, Nothing wrong with grinding the same mission over and over icon_rolleyes.gificon_e_wink.gif. but seriously, I just looked at the rewards and it actually goes up to 10,000!! (5000, 7500 and 10,000) for the 3 Wolverines. so uhh yeah, not sure how that is going to work.

I'm thinking that 10,000 is only for the few true addicts. It's doable, but I don't think that many people have the patience for that

Lol! Whoops I was looking at the rewards for the Avenger's Tournament I think. So my math was wrong (in a way lol). So yeah, for the 10,000 ISO spot the math works out to having to gain an extra 9,200 ISO from the 4 ISO grind, or 2,300 wins. 2,300! With that in mind, I'm going out on a limb here and guessing that the available, standard ISO rewards per map refresh are going to increase as well as the amount per battle from the repeatable mission each refresh. I know some people love grinding but I can't see the devs asking someone to do 2,300 in a 10 day period. That's 230 per day or almost 10 missions wins an hour, every hour for 10 days! Madness!

    Edit: Fixed my math.

I think it's possible considering somebody got over 800 the first day. Maybe 1 or 2 people will actually reach it

Lol my math was wrong again (but I caught myself so it's all good): 230 per day = 10 per hour not 100. Lol @ myself; I'm actually quite good at math I promise. icon_e_biggrin.gif

OK I just want to make sure I'm not missing something. I was able to defeat the lvl 40 HAMMER enemies and just have the one top level mission left. I'm in a 75 way tie for 175th place with 140 I so crystals. The last mission yields 20 more so I could get 160 until the missions reset. I'm in the same bracket with The Ladder and For grim and they are both over 200 Iso. That being the case I have to assume the timing on the device is being adjusted. I'm not judging, just wanted to make sure there wasnt a way to get more crystals that I was missing.

Before making wild accusations, perhaps you should have read the whole thread first. I don't need to adjust the time on my device.
  • I was gonna reply the same earlier ladder haha. How dare u accuse us of foul play! And Jesus ur grinding ladder, I flew for lbusiness across the country and u had gone up to 500
  • I have no life lol.

It's dull as anything, hoping the missions update soon.

That wasn't at all meant as an accusation. Like was pointed out earlier, a person that adjusted the time would end up having to wait later so initially they may be able to get far ahead, but then they will have to wait like everyone else. For that reason it didn't seem like it was foul play, more of just a strategy. The only reason I mentioned you two was because I saw you were in my board and I recognized your names from the forum. Although you are absolutely correct in saying the reason was mentioned in the thread and I had missed it. Sometimes posts are very small when I view the board on my phone and I missed that explanation. Although you have to understand that when completing all of the current missions yields a total of 160 and you see a person that is now over 600 many people may wonder if that really happened 4 at a time. But doing the math, at 2 or 3 minutes per battle, you are looking at 3 to 5 hours of grinding, which isn't terrible. I finally was able to win that last battle with a team of high 30's Iron Man and Storm and a level 17 Black Widow. I have BW's blue skill max and the stun is helpful to keep the Pyro's in check, but I still need some random luck when the countdowns show up.

Anyway, my main purpose in asking was to make sure I wasn't missing something. I'm sorry it came across to anyone a different way.
  • No danger, I probably over reacted lol. As you point out, it's pure grinding. I can turn over the Greenland mission in around 5 minutes, usually with no damage and even if I do take a hit, I have in-team provision to heal up icon_e_smile.gif I try to have some sort of entertainment on in the background, vids or music, to ease the drudgery somewhat!

And should also say, some people might wonder what the motive is for grinding a measly 4 at a time - as pointed out by others earlier in the thread, the progression rewards in this section are pretty good. I'm aiming for 3000 to open up the new Spidey ability - not got it yet.

Ok great, I'm glad you saw where I was coming from. I thought I just created a new character:

    Everly (Modern)
.25 Star Rarity (Common as a rock)

Forum Idiot - Red 1 AP
Everly posts a comment in the forum and angers a board member. Becomes target in current tournament
    Level Upgrades
Level 2: Becomes target in current and upcoming tournament.
Level 3: Automatically loses 500 positions when you go to sleep
Level 4: Anger 2 board members and have a 2 star or greater character stolen
Level 5: IceIX programs all boards in all tournaments to have 1 low attack match

    Typical Bad Move- (Passive) Blue
Whenever there are 10 Blue tiles, Everly will waste a powerful attack on an enemy that has less than 100 points of health left
    Level Upgrades
Level 2: Active at 5 tiles
    Level 3: Accidently attacks teammates
Level 4: Active at 2 tiles
Level 5: Automatically defeated when battle starts

    Lol! Brilliant! icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • New missions out then, just breezed through them. Looks the like repeatable mission is against a Lv60 Commander and two Lv60 Pyros... for TWO red iso! And we all thought it was bad grinding FOUR at a time... icon_rolleyes.gif
  • i was actually JUST going to post that, theladder. i zoomed through, got to the repeatable, and its 2 per. whoever grinded out the 4's at the beginning wil have a significant advantage now.
  • Hmm, 3 of the missions are already marked as done for me even though I didn't do them. Didn't get points/reward for them either. Has this happened to anyone else? Have submitted a report via the in-game form. Hopefully it can be quickly fixed.
