I earned 20,925 pts in one run... so yeah?

Obviously here, there's a trade-off that the devs have to consider:
it's nice to make a good progression reward reachable easily for everyone. The drawback is that after this reward is reached, there is no more incentive to keep playing

There is still the competition for the ranking of course but I think it's another different game inside the pve.
conclusion: it would be nice to have after the top progression reward (a nice reward for everyone) a 'beyond-the-top' progression reward with a rarer cover. This reward would not been meant to be reach by everyone but only by some grinders who are easily bored on sunday <ahem> icon_redface.gif

I'd like to suggest a mystery reward for players that join within the first 12 or 24hrs of PVE events ~ but only revealed and distributed on the last day of the event. Prizes could include covers for recent characters not yet in the heroic token draw pool, hero points, event specific token x5 or x10 pack, huge lump sum ISO, or a guaranteed 3* token. Let's say the cut off could be based on the global points leader at 12hrs before the event ends. Players who are within 80% of that score get 1 random mystery reward & those within 90% get 2 of the mystery rewards.

I've already had about enough of this event. Ugh. But, trying to still find humor in the pain...

You say that now but I seem to recall the rolling subs of The Hunt to be one of the most hated things ever (the every other node has Daken doesn't help).

The Hunt is some slight tweaking away from being one of the best PVEs. The rolling subs are annoying in their own way, but they also smooth out the time zone issue some (I realize the end time is still terrible for Europe) and they break up the monotony. Plus they give a ton of tokens out. The other advantage is that the scaling periodically drops due to sub resets, rather than just ratcheting up constantly. You can usually do okay on it focusing on essentials.

And between Daken, Ares, and Juggernaut, this thing has as bad an opponent mix as the Hunt ever did. That being said, they really need to make a LOT more villains so there's some variety in these things.

As a heads up or warning for anyone else. It's 8AM EST, I just joined a bracket because this is the first chance I've really had time to play. I'm in last place at 658, and that's exactly how many people are in the bracket. 1st place has roughly 40k.

Edit: After a 45 minute clear, I'm up to 23k, and am in 61st. Bracket is at 830 players.

Can you let me know when your bracket fills? I'm planning to join this morning.

I'm going to be away for a couple hours, but given how many people (a little under 200) joined within the 45 minutes, I'm thinking it should be done filling in an hour or so. Also seems like I may have been a bit over concerned, as the top player probably just did 2-3 clears, and top 10 maybe 2 clears, or 1 plus essentials. If I can grind it out, I should be certain of at least one cover, and a decent chance of multiples, but possibly not at a 1/1/1 build.
  • Rubber Band is still strong and so its the scaling.

Fresh bracket. Up to 192 players. Still a good time to jump in.

Good to know for future reference that this is IceIX's idea of "weak" rb

In strong rubberbanding, one node gets you every single progression award.
  • This event is total garbage.

Play for an hour at a time, grinding for 20 ISO each time and I can never climb the ladder. In fact, I keep falling and now im around 400th.

Thanks for the heads up. Just did a sweep and bracket is @348 ppl atm.

Start late and earn 20k in one run?

That's disgusting. No offense to you.

It's IceIX's idea of 'screw Europe', is more like it. icon_evil.gif

It's infuriating to read this. I've played for a handful of hours over the last 2 days and am in 400th place with 26k.

I though they got rid of those insane rb mechanics... I've been playing since the begining and I'm hovering from 100 to 250... I'm being smashed by juger and even with 10k+ hps characters I can't do more than 2-3 matches in a row. Playing every 2'5h and see how the top 1 in my bracket has a lvl 70 as his max lvled character is quite sad :-/

Although at least this time they made easy to obtain the progression rewards, thats something. But its frustrating to play for 2 days quite hard on an event and being unable to stay top 150, moreso seeing that the end time is 6am Spain time and I have to get up at 7 icon_cry.gif

Has anyone been able to take Daken down at all today? His nodes are so tempting being worth a juicy 2000 points but seeing his level 200+ makes me run and hide - especially when he's sitting next to Ares.

Be prepared to get smacked in the face with chemical reaction. At that high a level, around 4500 damage each time. That plus a lot of lucky cascades means back to back reaction fest.
  • Could anyone say when the current bracket is full? I feel it might be at 500+ already icon_cry.gif
  • After a second full clear, and using 2 less health packs than the first clear (weird, I know), I'm up to 38k and 27th with noob crushing our bracket with 52k. So I'm certainly gaining ground, but I don't know if I'll be able to play super optimally to get up to top 10 for all three covers. The bracketing issue is a touch unfortunate when you can end up unlucky at the tail end of a bracket a whole refresh (or more) behind others. The rubberband makes up for it to some degree, but it's still rough.
