This Event has a bit of a points tweak so that missions are worth more base but rubberbanding isn't as strong. Definitely going to look at it as the Event goes on and dig into post data, but the idea is to encourage people to play more at any time instead of waiting for rubberbanding to catch them up.
I.e. spend more time grinding.0 -
Yeah, that sounds like "better play every 2.5 hours if you want any hope of Colossus," which is not pleasant after simulator.0

True healing - we dont want encourage people to play more and have advantage. Now youre encouraging to play more Seems legit0 -

intense rubberbanding and last minute mad dash is just as bad as grinding, but at least with grinding you should get rewarded for the time/commitment put in. Where as rubberbanding, you can work hard for a couple of days and suddenly you lose your shirt because someone was able to grind the last 1-2 hours more than you do. So I vote grinding0 -

This will certainly inspire a calm and reasonable discussion... no hyperbole or hysteria at all. [popcorn.gif]0 -

After the Venom/Beast event and the middle-finger Demiurge flipped at the EU, it would've been fair and a gesture of good faith to have this event end at an EU-friendly timeslot and give EU players a leg up at obtaining Colossus that way. Similar to how US players have been given that very advantage pretty much every PvE event that introduces a new character.0 -

After the Venom/Beast event and the not really convenient design for* the EU, it would've been fair and a gesture of good faith to have this event end at an EU-friendly timeslot and give EU players a leg up at obtaining Colossus that way. This being said, I'm still convinced that those who put more effort deserve better rewards and I'm impressed by those who are not afraid by playing this early (or late?)
*While I agree completely with the point you made Rio, I gently tweaked some words0 -

Heroic again. Meh. And constant grinding. Meh. How will I ever manage to have a life outside of MPQ with end of season PvP and a grind-intense PvE? What I have to do now is cancel my band's gig this Saturday, tell the dog to go walk herself and play non-stop during lunch with my parents. No problem, will do that right away.0

Event design (or rather reward structure maybe) has to be more deeply modified to allow a more fair competition among players of all timezones.
Look at this event progression rewards the top one is at 20K points. It takes well under 24H to get that many points event without trying, (Fastest people should be there in 12H). They might as well just given the rewards to everyone. I project we should still reach maximum rubberband this event - It will be clearer tomorrow but its going to take between 42-46 hours - so doing just over half a dozen nodes after this time will net you enough points for all progression.0 -
I'm really starting to not like the structure of these events where you have a single overpowered level 256 hero with no synergy with anybody on your team barely winning against level 100 guys that can pull absolutely crazy combos. Is this supposed to remind us what it feels like to be the computer player that gets abused by Magnetic Field even when they're level 395? Well I really don't need to know how the computer feels like when I Magnetic Field spammed it to death. I messed around with some team composition and there's literally no synergy whatsoever between the characters and all you're doing is hoping a level 256 Thor can (and he usually can) outlast stuff.0

To be honest I have no interest in any of the progression rewards, consequently only ranking rewards matter for me and I already know I probably won't be competitive due to the importance of the last hours play.
Beside, I recognize it's a good thing that there is a top progression reward that is nice and reachable.
But we should still have some hard-to-reach progression rewards because once everybody will have reached this 20k mark, only the competition for ranking will remain... and as everybody can't be ranked this will generate more frustration.
For example, I didn't manage to win Beast in Heroic: Venom but was happy to be offered the opportunity to win this cover through consistent grinding as a progression reward in Simulator0 -
If the Venom event taught me anything is that as long as your roster doesn't suck, rubberbanding is *always* king.0
-
I'll enjoy this event for what it is, free Green Thor. Colossus is just a bonus that I can probably get for being around Sunday night.0

I already hate this event. They have got to stop introducing new characters in heroics, because they simply aren't fun. This is the sort of thing that will burn me out of the game. It's just terrible.0

I don't mind the heroics if they give you an interesting team to work with, and it doesn't necessarily have to be easy either, but if you look at this roster it's almost set up to make sure you can't do anything interesting with your characters. You have OBW but she usually has to get 3 colors and she obviously can't last long like that. You got Falcon but the only person who can create strike tile is Wolverine, who is strictly inferior to Thor. You got Hulk but he can't tank any color except black. On my games I find it's either I go for purple and have OBW take some Headbutts and maybe get an AR off and then use a health pack on her, or go for green/yellow the entire game and eventually kill everyone with Thunder Strike and/or Call the Storm. Falcon occasionally picks up a special tile or two with Redwing, but for all practical purposes it's a one man show with Thor.
One of the heroics the line up was Patch + Thor (2*) + Psylocke for the usable characters, and that's actually a decent team to play with. For example you can do Berserker Rage -> Thunder Strike -> Berserker Rage again. You can try to spam Psi-Katanas with a Berserker Rage up. It's not a great team but they can at least work together. I find this event and the last event with Patch being major boosted are essentially one man shows.0 -

She-Hulk + cStorm at least played minor supporting roles to Patch last time. This feels very much like it was made with 2* players in mind who either don't have the 3*s or have them low leveled. I can imagine some 2* player loving playing Wolvie + OBW + half-covered Falcon.0 -

Well it's not like the 3*s have it harder since having Thor on a high level is going to trump everything else at the end, but it sure feels pretty boring to get into most games where I either hope OBW doesn't get Headbutted for picking up purple, or more likely I just go beeline to yellow or green and kill everyone in one move while seeing computer put up crazy combos but Thor just tough them out with his 15K HP. They can at least relax the 'good guys only' restriction for these heroic events. I don't necessarily need Daken to go with Falcon, but there's got to be at least somebody with a usable special tile in the 3* tier. Punisher or BP would've been sufficient. Even Psylocke would at least give you something to boost with Inspiration.0 -

Yeah I'm not really suggesting that 2* players have it easier just that they have an actual team that makes some sense. Instead of 3* which is literally just Thor + whoever happens to be alive still.0
