im using wolverine to tank green for thor since my thor is not maxed and wolvy is the only one who can throw down tiles as well. you will be foolish to not value the health pack saved by looking for a way to tank with wolverine. If you have a maxed thor. its good and bad, bad as you have to start using health packs earlier than usual. and when wolverine is low on health, you can heal and store up yellow for the finishing thor's green

I've been loving the new Hawkeye and already have him at 90 - I'm hoping that's enough for this event (but I may sink more ISO into him anyway).

I used exactly one health pack on Thor and that was at the second to last node on the top far right sequence. Maxed Thor's yellow almost enough damage to wipe out any character in the nodes except higher level Juggs. Never mind any green matches.

What? It's over an hour before s5 ends.

I blame you for this. icon_lol.gif Sure, let's end the PvE to introduce a new character on the last day of a season. At least it'll all be over on Sunday night.

its not going to be important until middle to late stages of the game when all nodes scales up. the idea is to preserve your thor's health as much as possible so that thor is always ready for the hardest nodes. all easy nodes you will be using wolverine to heal every round if you know what I mean.
  • Hawkeye should be quite good against any villian + 2 goon combo that are normally the hardest nodes since Electric Arrow is extra powerful versus those combinations.

Pretty sure rubberbanding will get ridiculous, like Heroic Venom.

... or Monday before sunrise (and before work!) depending on the side of the Atlantic Ocean you are sitting on icon_e_wink.gif

edit: I'm still happy with the shorter PvE events. However I guess this will end the same way than for Beast cover for me: I'll have to wait for the PvP to grab covers icon_exclaim.gif

that is a no brainer, it has to be wolverine simply nothing compares to the true heal ability which save you health packs. I love it every time any true healers are buffed. And often I find he has the best red ability lurking for the right timing unless your team has a main red.
Astonishing Wolvie tanks nothing when paired with a maxed Thor and OBW. The only time he'll ever be attacked is during goon fights with AOE attacks.

Damn, I forgot that little issue. Hm. So pretty much every third wheel is situational only.

Hawkeye: Speed Shot when not facing Juggs, if you have the LThor yellow covers to proc it.

Wolverine: Feral Claw for facing Moonstone.

    Falcon: Redwing for goons.

Hulk: Aaaaaaaanger? Maybe? Or if you have a really underleveled Lthor and overleveled Hulk?

Iron Man M35: Armored Assault can also block Gravity Warp damage, otherwise he can work as a generic filler char you won't get broken up about losing if he dies somehow.

Modern Storm: Hailstorm is the only black spender in this event, but it'll get wiped out quickly against Juggs.

Modern Storm's Hailstorm should be respec'd to level 5 (at least for this event) since it can also be useful to offset Moonstone's Gravity Warp or flood tiles preventing daken/bullseye from placing their special tiles and can delay goon countdown tile placement until a basic tile of the right color becomes available. Flooding the screen can also force Thor's lightning strike to convert the few available tiles near the top of the screen to green, pretty much guaranteeing a critical

If you're low on hero points, might be wise to sell him Sunday if the limited post-Patch60 offer is still in effect. Should help cover the cost for a roster slot for Colossus icon_e_wink.gif
  • Falcon also makes Hailstorm deadly with just a few yellow matches.

    1) I have almost 9000 HP
    2) I never, ever sell characters
  • Date on the thread still lists Sep 15 as the end time, when it should be 14 based on the way the threads generally go. Fast and ugly. Not sure whether I should be happy or sad that I have real life stuff this weekend which will prevent me from playing much. I'm going to go with happy.

Oh, I just thought singular no-sub events like heroics always tended to have a large amount of rubber banding. Am I mistaken?

Its around 170% of base points to increase the band by one so its on the higher end of the scale as of late - Using old data as been climbing in PvP but that estimate will not be far out.

now is this roughly the same as the Venom Heroic? or are we slightly under? Just need to know what to expect while no doubt rubberbanding will be high regardless

Told my alliance mates I really wouldn't hit this hard unless they were mean and also put XForce Black as the top prize. Welp.

At least it's only a blitz event.

Heroic Venom was 114% which made it much easier to pull the rubber band in and catch up.

Just edited the OP with a bit of information, as I notice it's being talked about in thread too.

This Event has a bit of a points tweak so that missions are worth more base but rubberbanding isn't as strong. Definitely going to look at it as the Event goes on and dig into post data, but the idea is to encourage people to play more at any time instead of waiting for rubberbanding to catch them up.

When you dig into the post-event data, you should all keep in mind that you decided to test this on a PvE running the last few days of a season, which will affect the events players decide to focus on. I imagine a lot of players will be trying to balance between PvP, SHIELD Sim, and PvE, and therefore will be playing PvE less than they normally might.
