So this is going to be the hardest pve event ever, right? Anyone without sentry daken pretty much immediately screwed?

I'm waiting a bit to hopefully join a bracket that isn't so contested, but I hope not since I don't have many covers for Sentry or Daken. I could really use 3 more Thor covers.

Ideal time to join? I have heard 24 hours in is best for these events.

You want to avoid the initial flood of 24-hour-a-day grinders, the last-minute “rubberband my way to the top of the sub” wave, and whenever the biggest group of people looking to join in the doldrums and crush an easy bracket shows up. This sort of metagaming can pay dividends, but it's not easily predictable.

    Certainly not less than 24.

Could this signal The Thing is on the horizon, and/or Reed Richards? =o

I hate calling him Mr. Fantastic, since he has a doctorate FFS!
  • Cheeses Christ. The panther node where he's just pulling yellow and blue AP out of his Wakandan backside is just plain wrong. And that Devil Dinosaur one... I had high hopes of grinding to a Beast cover. I don't think I can face another refresh, let alone another round.

Personally, I will join the second sub in the last 24 hours and the first sub either at the same time or 1 day earlier depending on schedule
  • Why do people continue to think Sentry is godly in PvE? Well, he's definitely top tier, but Falcon and Magneto are the gods of PvE, though Falcon must have Daken on his side to work his magic.

I agree with you in general.

However, most events have one or two super scaled nodes that aren't worth the three healthpacks. Boosted daken+sentry lets you clear those pretty easily.

The fact that Sentry-Daken is the best pvp combo means the top players all have them maxed while anyone with a non-ideal pvp setup is now also **** in pve

Add to that the fact that Daken self-heals and the top 30 global will be nothing but high placing pvp players. "Rich get richer" indeed.

221 Fat Thor in normal, lol. Time to just get that out the way right quick.

Depends on your bracket. PVEs often have high rates of success amongst lower level 1-2* players with a handful of key covered but not necessarily leveled 3* characters. They can complete the essentials for the big points, and a super buffed 3* can make the lessened scaling they're already facing, nigh negligible. They still have to be willing to put the time in and grind, but it's pretty nice for them a lot of the times.
  • 3 essential nodes requiring Beast for both the sub-nodes? So pretty much all the EU players who couldn't make that final push in the last hour got massively screwed over.

Yeah, he just completely wiped out my HT (145) / Ares (buffed) / OBW party completely. Is it just me or is this particular PVE really hard?

The first set of sub is worth the least number of points. The essential heroes will rotate next sub based on past history.

The simulator is always harder than the average PvE since the enemy pool isn't limited to the typically pretty bad Dark Avengers.

Yeah, the PvE is somewhat difficult compared to the others. Simulator in particular has some pretty rough character combinations as well. I also wish I knew who thought it was a good idea to put that Defender as the first node on Hard so I could crotch kick 'em.
  • Unlike most PvE events that are themed toward a particular group of guys, Simulator enemies tend to be designed to be a strong team from the get go.

Also, DA is hardly the weakest lineup you'll see. The Avengers only lineup in Prodigal Sun is hilariously weak whenever Thor/OBW isn't on the team. Some of those fights were pushover even at level 395. Just don't mess with Thor!
  • Just lost to level 111 shulk+goons node with maxed out punisher and nearly maxed panther and cmags because of ridiculous **** cascades. I didn't even have time to get the infinite blue going. I just sat there, watching shulk get two 40 ap cascades in 3 turns, reprieved all the damage i did, and got power of attorneyed which then made more cascades, and more powers of attorney. Don't care what anyone says, that's some cheating ****. D3 can squat on a cactus.
