  • Sorry Sooty, I get a little aggressive in Lightning rounds.
  • No problem, managed to stay in top 8. I should probably tank myself over two days to get myself a magneto red or start just going for diabolical tokens for it... sinking in 1.5 hours to potentially NOT get one cover is so not worth the time :/
  • OK calling a truce among forum members for this upcoming rags...i just need 1 more red icon_e_smile.gif
  • DESTROY DUM DUM DUGN!!!!

This forum seems only alive when there are lightning rounds icon_lol.gif
  • Nobody wins at war.
  • Ok, I lied. Inadvertently.

Made 3rd in that Mags round. Now 3/1/3 and wondering if I should use this purple cover or not.

But I'm out for the night.

    Good luck Ragsers.

i got a 4/1/5 and his purple is amazing. 1-shotting a rags? yes plz
  • Wow...fangle...wherever you are. Not cool (all fair in war I guess but..grr). Attacked me somewhere between 10-20 times without a single retaliate by me. There is something wrong with the matchmaking system if that can be the case. An attack cutoff point for points (or at minimum for lost points) would be helpful. I just don't see how the same person can find me that many times in a row. In a 40 min span. Went from top 10 to almost missing getting a diabolical from a single person spam attacking me with a far better team. At minimum, there should be a time lapse between seeing the same player. 5 min?

    *rant over* lol...

Opened my diabolical...at least I got a blue mag I guess. Went red mag red mag..then 3 straight Loki and a hood (for diabolical). Would have preferred a purple sorta...but blue is good.

Not even going to bother with the rag round lol. Get my 100 points and get out.

    Absolutely you should.

His blue is very good and fun to use, IMO.

Sadly with human nature, it's all about what you can get away with.

There's more to it than that. It is a question of being competitive, especially with the rewards in question for the lightning rounds. It is very difficult to compete for the top spots when you are facing brutal competition from the first second. The game rewards winning matches quickly, not beating superior opponents. While getting hammered by someone way above your level once or twice might not be fun, neither is struggling to get to 50 points because you did well in a couple of rounds (which has happened to people). The matchmaking is a work in progress. It will get better and we will adjust. There's no malicious intent involved.

I agree. I even posted a few times about rewarding people who beat higher level opponents when I first started playing. My team has an average level of 70. I constantly play against 100+ average level teams usually with max Ragnarok. It takes a little longer but that's just the game to me. To lose on purpose to bully lesser teams just feels wrong to me.

I'm not saying there's malicious intent though I was irritated by people who tanked their ratings then had a whine about how some other player pipped them to the top prize even though they already had maxed covers. There's nothing wrong with playing just to win even if you already have a maxed out team. Competition is about winning, not the prizes.

My point is simply that it's a competition and I believe that you should compete fairly. Expecting someone to let you win or sit out because they've already won is a non-competitive attitude to me. Tanking your rating so you can play in the kiddie pool and then getting upset that you don't win is probably what provoked me into even commenting on the whole issue in the first place. I don't mean you specifically and I don't even remember who it was that first posted about it since I tend to just scan over threads. I'm only commenting on it because it seems lame to game the system and then cry when you don't win.

I'm sure the same people wouldn't lie about their age and go beat up kids in under 12 boxing. If you can't win in your own weight class then you're just not good enough. Gaming the system to win shouldn't happen but it does because people can get away with it.

Anyway, I don't think anything I say is going to change because of my opinion so I'll stop here and hope that the matchmaking system eventually reaches a point where competition is fairer.
  • It's all good. We're a pretty friendly bunch for the most part. Differing opinions and viewpoints are welcome.

I'll be very happy when I get his blue to 5. The select tile moves are some of the most fun and "skillful.". I have reds and blues on other characters though, and my doom has gotten better recently (and his blue helps build his black which means I won't likely be using mags blue anytime soon in lightning round). Therefore the purple would have been more useful for me. Mag is only 1/2/0 now *sadface* I'd rather, ability wise, have something other than red...but based on rareness I am happy to have them.
  • i must say, the whole tanking strat kinda correcteed itself, now it has become if you play the entire 1 hour 30 minutes, u'll place high compared to others.

there was a 3 man race at top for top 2 with DDD and a couple others, and they literally spent the entire time fighting (i joined in around 30-45 minutes in for the iso farming at 500)

If you tank too much, which i did, you get nothing but 5 point fights...i fought A LOT lol

Oh you were just iso farming? I skipped you like 5 times when it was only showing me 6 people. It took all 90 minutes of constant playing, but I got top 8 by grinding against people with just level 15 rags icon_e_biggrin.gif

you got a lot of 5 points because you were 600 points and 95% of the rest of us were between 0-400 lol
  • Wow..that rag round was pretty light. I wasn't going to play bit I kept being given low lvl guys (meaning similar to me..lol) and barely was attacked. Dum dum was about the only attacks I received. @50...so we will see if someone got above me in the last 30 sec (just checked..diabolical..whoo)...but I didn't even start till about 50 min left and slowly built up. That was kinda chill.

Now to let hood round abuse me. I refuse to play that lol.

Now you don't have to play rag rounds anymore right dumdum? Lol
  • Rounds this time of night are usually much lighter.

I know the others were, but I thought rag was always heated...guess not.
