Welp, Sentaresaken got me this time.

I did every node up to that one only taking a little bit of damage - apart from Punisher who took a headbutt on the hell node so I medicated him - so I figured I'd just take my chances. OBW was still on about 4000 HP so I assumed she'd be safe enough grabbing all the blue available to ward off the inevitable World Rupture that would be coming. At worst, she'd get a bit banged up and AGD could at least keep her in the fight long enough to get a Recon off if the opportunity presented itself.

Cue yellow cascade for the AI.

Thinking I was about to be treated to Fabio's fetal pose again, I was a bit surprised when Ares chimed in from the sidelines: "Remember me? I hit hard too!"

    Sunder = Dead OBW

It went BADLY downhill rapidly after that icon_lol.gif

I still got up to 29K points for the sub which is enough for 2nd so I can't complain. And I should have enough time to get guys back on their feet and health packs to recharge to get one more pass in yet.

    I feel your pain icon_razz.gif

Last pass through that node was almost too easy. This time through - cascades of yellow and green tiles to the opposing team - death, death, have some more death to go with your death. Ow icon_exclaim.gif

I have a feeling that I'm going to miss those extra points going into the final stretch

I am currently at 86K on target to be over 90K by the end of the sub. So it will be down to the point values + if the final main nodes are repeatable or not.
Yeah. Either we'll get repeatables with high values and reach 100K easily - or standings are completely set in stone at the end of the sub.
Either way suits me fine, although I'd prefer being able to sleep in because I can ignore low value, non-repeatable nodes.

Aint no way they're going to be non-repeatable imo. D3 aren't going to miss a good opportunity to make Europeans stay awake for half the night, noooo way - and I've got a 3hr drive tomorrow morning \o/

Despite being top 5 for the entire event I'm pretty much resigned to top 20 being about the best I'll get thanks to rubberbanding and finish timing.

Well I'll go to sleep an hour early so I can get up at 5 tomorrow to finish this icon_e_wink.gif
But I think you're on UK time, right? I don't think I'd get up at 4am either, that is _really_ rough.
  • Went to bed (albeit about 6.5 hours of sleep) in first for both my main and my sub. Woke up still first in sub (just us Americans in this bracket?) and 2nd in main, but by under 100 points.

This will be interesting. I've never led a main, let alone by this much. I've got the free time today to hit every 2.5 hours if they're repeatable nodes, so I hope no one makes a Goliath out of me with their rubber band slingshot.
  • At 91k now. I expect to end the sub at roughly 94k, which means The Shulk cover should be in reach.

Yup, UK time. And in past experience, just getting up at 4am might not cut it either - more likely one alarm at 1am and another at 4am if I really want to push for rank. Then afterwards you're buzzing with adrenaline so it's virtually impossible to return to sleep before the kids wake up at 6:30 \o/

Yeah, I think I got up at 4am once on a Saturday or Sunday when an event ended on Daylight Savings Time, was hopeless trying to get back to sleep. Ended up going for my morning run at 5.
  • I don't know what's up with me this morning, but I have this utterly dreadful feeling about the last 12 hours on the main sub.

-- Sentry has been very prominent on nodes all across this event... but no Lazy Daken at all, who was released before Sentry....

-- Ragnarok.... he has been missing the entire event as well. Yes, he is the "boss" in the Prologue version of the Dark Avengers chapter, which could explain his absence all event. However, if you were running this event, would you use gimpy Ragnarok as your final "boss" encounter of the event? That doesn't add up at all. But, what if Rags isn't the Rags we know? Food for thought: 3-color Daken was stealth introduced as the "boss" encounter of the last Heroic: Oscorp. Could the same treatment be in the works for Rags? The flavor text for "Ominous Thunder" could be just flavor text alluding to the Prologue, or it could be a hint of what is coming....

    So... LazyDaken/UberRags/Sentry anyone?

Either way, we will all know in 3 and half hours.

Are main bracket point rubberbanding typically based on the global leader or your bracket leader?

I skipped the first node due to being away so my main bracket leader is actually me with only 66k. I figure I'm 100% out of the running for the 100k progression prize (which is fine), I was more just wondering for curiosity's sake.

    *barf*

As much as it would suck to face UberRags, if it meant a third power was introduced it would be worth it.

I was feeling generous before the level shift update and gave She-Hulk more levels for her 2 covers, which still left her blue under oBW's with the 90 lvl buff. As of the update, She-Hulk now tanks blue (not sure if true with changed positions) but I'm not bothered by it - her nodes are quite easy and at least She-Hulk can now tank some damage because she was literally doing nothing before.

Off the global leader. I am currently on 92K now should be just below 94K at the end of the subs so the global leaders going to be around 97K. Assuming the last nodes are repeatable and have similar points to the subs you will start out with 10x rubber meaning if you do all 5 2h 24min refresh in the last 12 hours you will make it.

Yeah looking at that 8000 something hit points - THAT NEVER GET TOUCHED - is driving me nuts.

Well, you can always try running her with Bagman and Hawkeye if you want her to tank colours.
Of course, you wouldn't be able to beat the node, but still... icon_lol.gif

I feel like I just want to completely quit this event. Was doing the node with daken/Ares/sentry, and her again I get one of these idiotic games where the board is constantly making sure they can always get match-4s and the exact colors they need. And it's only going to get worse with the node with juggs and venom... And it's not like I have any shot at any decent rewards. Now I just feel like I'm a burden to my alliance since I have one of the lowest scores in our group for this event.

You can beat the first essential node with that team no problems. In fact I used that team for the first essential node unless I am tring to speed clear. Just need to place Hawkeye's crit tiles in the right places and use Bagman's yellow to slow down the countdown tiles.

If I actually had the man of bags I might give it a shot but he's 250 ISO to me every time I see that "Kick Me" sign.

    Bagman useful?!

    DOES NOT COMPUTE icon_question.gificon_question.gificon_question.gif
  • I've had a surprising amount of success with Daredevil in this. He just keeps killing Sentry and Moonstone, over and over and over.

I am thinking it's either going to be pre nerf Ragnarok by himself, or Rag + Sentry + Daken for the final node.
