Gonna go in and blitz my way to 700-800 tomorrow and pop an 8 hr shield in the afternoon and expect to edge out a top 5 run still. These 8 hour shields have been the only thing allowing me to reach 3* rewards for the last couple of weeks and has worked well with my schedule.

    If you can manage to time it, I generally prefer two 3-hour shields instead, with a little less than 6 hours left. That way you get to sneak a fight or two (or three if you're daring...but not advised) in as you're getting close to your first one expiring, allowing a small boost to your ranking.

    Rotating CMags, Patch, Punisher and Psyduck seems to be generally working but it's definitely a whole lot slower than it used to be.

    This event would be one of the rare cases I actually used prologue healing to try to squeak in a few more matches - last time this one ran I abused the hell out of the desert node with MStorm so I didn't need to heal much - but everyone is in the same (leaky) boat so 500 points is good enough for 30ish for now.

    I'm curious to see how this shakes out. Top 10 probably should score as high as usual, since people who run UDaken/LT or something similar aren't affected by True Healing(tm) at all.
    Points below T10 might be lower.

    Maybe this is the first step to arrive at a somewhat sane MMR, since now people can't constantly punch above their weight by abusing OBW anymore.
    It's definitely interesting - not good or bad, but interesting.

    Bowgentle, are you shielded? I'd love to hit 900 sometime today and leave at that.

    This is so annoying. For the last 30 minutes, the only opponents I'm getting in my queue are five players worth 3 points -- Terr, mrdogfather, kaka85, jinfreaks, and one other guy who were all in the 700s -- and bowgentle, who is worth 8. Meanwhile, the guy who is in second in my bracket just unshielded for 10 minutes and rose from 1000 to 1050 without ever once appearing in my queue. I'm so sick of burning ISO skipping the same people over and over with this stupid MMR system.

    Yeah. There is absolutely no-one worth anything right now.
    Managed to hit Mikeydollar and Kakko half an hour ago, got me to 1050, now I'm down to 865 because THERE IS NO ONE GIVING POINTS.
    And I'm burning at least 500 ISO between matches on skips.

    Hey, sorry, Bowgentle, I thought after 2+ hours you were shielded. I don't remember the last time I could reach 1100 without a single shield, it was in S1 I think.
    Edit: I have 929 right now, so feel free to retaliate.

    Well, D3P has really done it. They took OBW from OP to obsolete without even touching her. I haven't seen a single OBW since the healing change and i really like it! Definitely liking the increased team variety i'm seeing. Maybe the healing change isn't all bad, would be nice if they also decreased the time it takes to regen health packs.

    Dude... Hollowpoint tournament LOCKS out oBW because GSBW and oBW are essentially the same character. Of course you are not seeing oBW!

    Whaddya mean two hours+? I was below 700 an hour ago, only started to climb in the last 60 minutes.

    Two hours passed since you posted here; half an hour since I asked. I assumed you shielded and went away or something. Gave you a retreat to thank for my Bullseye token (although hitting you only gave me 899 pts so I had to do one more battle icon_e_biggrin.gif).

    I'm at work and was pushing while my queries run.

    No big deal, I'll just try again in a couple of hours. Only wasted some +3 and +Match damage boosts on the only people worth any points.

    Did I miss a ninja patch that suddenly made DD good? I've just seen three teams featuring him at various levels pop up in my nodes...

    Well, I wouldn't usually touch a maxed Daken without Magneto, but I wanted to leave a trickier team-up with Hood on defense and see for myself if LT/Hood are indeed any good, at least against non-Magneto/Hood/Daken teams. Had some def wins with them already, against 141s, so interested to see more.

    Well I'm not looking forward to going up against Hood/LT for sure. But... points.

    Actually all those retals should get me above 1000 again easily, at least there was no one sniping me from below 500 for 40.

    Yep, just wiped on my retal against Hulk/lazy Daken, but it was entirely my fault. Sat at 27 green with a gazillion strike tiles on the board and some Anger tiles, trying to choose between Sniper Rifle and Call the Storm. Should have left the retal for later when my guys would be healthier and not hurt from the previous fights, since they already proved that they can take on Hulk and lazyDaken.
