Sunder's heal is supposed to carry over, according to the OP. Is that not the case?
The problem is when you kill them without the heal going off or being matched. Before I could offset that possibility with OBW heal, but so much for that!
Yeah, that's call the ability being stopped by game mechanics. When The Hood dies, he no longer steals AP either. If I have a Flame jet CD up when HT died, that CD stops working too.0 -
how about only applying the temporary healing on prologue matches??
pvp/pve events alone is hard enough even with true healing to be available.
applying that on prologue matches would mean that there's no easy way for them to regenerate their hp's.
pvp = play hard to earn the hp since you will be fighting either same or higher tier players
pve = you cant heal that much due to countdown tiles and low turn time to trigger countdown tiles

Of course one of the biggest **** in this true healing **** is they go and change it during a tournament, which technically kill the players who didn't get the advantage before the patch comes in affect.. Total ****..
Now instead of trying to heal your guys at the end of the match so they will come out healthier, we will just have to sit through 1.5 hours just to wait for the garbage health pack so we could play another match.0 -
Last time a game developer did something very unpopular, with no real feedback from their player base, they lost over half their subscribers. Anyone who had been around long enough in games development can probably quote the case.
If not then do a search for Sony Online Entertainment's Star Wars Galaxies and the so called New Game Enhancements (NGE for short). In summary they changed the game because of broken things without asking the people who mattered, their player base. Instead they do focus groups with people who had quit the game and people who have never played the game with the new game build. Although positive reviews with the focus group playgroup, when the changes when made aware on the forums there was a huge outcry of disapproval from the player base. Developers choose not to listen to their player base. What happened after is history!
However in short, years later, Mr john Smedley admitted it was a mistake NOT to listen to their playerbase! by which time it was too late.

I know many people who will not touch a Sony Online Entertainment game because of their experience with the above game and the lack of appreciation for the player base and their views.
Years ago I worked for a Logistics company as a picker packer, and my supervisor said to all the inductees when you pick and pack, you pick and pack as if you were picking for yourself. The reason is simple, one unhappy customer with their order doesn't end there. That unhappy costumer tells their friends and their friends tell their friends, at which point you didn't just lose one customer you lost at least ten potential because of one poor order.
D3 if you are smart, you will rethink your strategy very quickly and actually take into account your playerbase's opinions.
Don't treat your costumers as blind unintelligent consumers, you will only shoot yourself in the foot!0 -
This change is completely and utterly uncalled for. If your true intention was to make players think outside the box and utilize different teams, this could have simply been done by buffing/nerfing many characters. I can deal with buffing/nerfing characters. To put this change in with less than 14 hours til the Heroic event ends is just a slap in the face. All I know is, thank god the Steam sale is going on. Will give me a chance to grab some games for cheap that I will actually enjoy playing. This change could very well be the reason I say screw it to this game, which sucks, because before this change I didn't mind spending free time to play.0

QFT.
My sister and her friends were all hardcore into Galaxies until they screwed things up, at which point they all migrated en masse to City Of Heroes and later World Of Warcraft.0 -

Well said.
BTW, my thread has been unlocked again.

Gotta love how they announce this monday and 2 days later it's in the game. Every other update in this game takes like 2 months to be implemented, not this though, this was an EMERGENCY. Diversify your rosters, it's so crucial!!0

A couple of thoughts... and yes, I have read through this entire 35-page thread...
- It's still possible to exit a match with almost max HP. You just have to heal constantly. Every time you have enough blue for AGD, use it right there and then. Don't wait! The more you wait, the more your real HP gets eroded by enemy attacks!
- For this reason, "temporary healing" now functions as a damage shield rather than a boost to HP. It's a bit like collecting rings in Sonic the Hedgehog, or your shields depleting before your health in any sci-fi FPS title you care to name.
- The best thing to do, therefore, would be to have two bars - one representing your health, the other dedicated to this "shield health". Rather than combining the two values into one HP bar, as is currently the case. This would cut down on confusion as to how much health you'll be exiting a battle with.0 -
The forums are a great way to voice the community's feelings but can be hidden/marginalized.
If everyone who posted on this thread wrote a negative review in their respective app/game store THIS WOULD GET NOTICED!0 -

I would flood their Facebook page also. Probably get more casual attention there, too.0 -
Dev's, admit this was a horrible change. Roll the change back. Be happy you have 1'000's of people playing your game and just let them play.
So what.. there wasn't as much diversity in roster use as you'd like.
Aim for creating better characters or add incentives for utilizing different characters each round.
Limiting your players ability to play your game is going to have a huge impact on customer satisfaction and your "bottom line".
The less I play.. The less I spend.0 -
This decision is nothing more than a money grab for you guys and considering I've already spent hundreds of dollars on this game it's a disgrace that you would make this change. The way it was before did nothing to the game play aside from allowing the players to play more. Doing this just means in order to play more you have to purchase health packs. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I know many people have said this may cause them to leave the game completely. I'm starting to think that if this is the way you treat your end users, always looking out for yourselves at the expense of the people who you are supposed to be servicing, that may be the right choice.0

IceIX wrote:ZenBrillig wrote:Another question - in most systems that I've seen with this 'temporary HP' mechanism (which admittedly is mainly MMORPGs and tabletops), you can exceed a character's max HP. Will that be the case here?
I think it would make perfect sense for Antigravity Device to create a shield instead of healing. And for Spider-Man, he really needs a new yellow ability after this. I haven't played She-Hulk yet obviously so I won't comment.IceIX wrote:Narkon wrote:IceIX wrote:One of the intentions with this change is to cut down on things like Prologue Healing, which prolongs play time through something that is pretty obviously just a time intensive process that doesn't involve actual strong gameplay. It's something people do because it's there, much like tanking. It's not something that's fun. It's not something that's enjoyable. It's something that exists and is taken advantage of because of pure efficiency.
As for locking out True Healers, that also means that any future characters that would heal would also be locked out. Which would be a growing roster as our number of characters expand. As well, It would be pretty horrible for a player to pull a Spider-Man as a brand new player and be told that they can't use them because of a gameplay method they didn't even know exists is there. It's an interesting suggestion, but it doesn't pan out very well across the larger userbase that hasn't already digested more advanced gameplay concepts.
Well, you could just lock them out when all mission rewards are earned and the ticker goes green. That would get rid of "cheat healing" but still leave the gameplay intact for new players.
Just to add my two cents to the meta game discussion. If you made the penalty for loosing in PVP less damning I think people would try more teams and covers. It's not very likely that you will break out bag-man when you are top10 and a win gets you 15p and a loss is 35p. If it was the other way around however. People who grind and have a complete rooster would stand a better chance to reach top positions. It would not only go the the shield-hopping-healthpack-hoarding-3-cover strike team.0 -

pve just became more frustrating. Lost my team trying to fight 90 level enemies and now have to wait a couple hours for them to heal. That the pve ends 7am makes the experience even worse. So even if I manage to crawl my way to top 20, by the time it ends I will be left in the 50s+. Ans since I can't grind the missions until they are worth 50-100 because I don't have the heroes to do so, this is another ruined pve for me. I guess you can count on the devs to release a patch hours before an event ends.0

Geddit?
In fact, I'm not probably too hindered myself, but what it matters to me as an alliance leader? We don't have the likes of Maestro of 5DV and Joshbot thankfully ('just get 8-10 141s, yo'), but some 2* players instead most of which are undoubtedly F2P.
BTW got some cStorm covers, decided to build a duplicate cStorm in Bullseye's slot, will try to get more of her covers and give her some levels. That's diversity for you, I will have one 5/5/3 cStorm and another with 5 yellow.0 -
There is a lot of time which the game seems to be "cheating". The game seems to already delay the chances of you getting the color you needed so you will suffer much more damage before something comes your way.
And now this. no ability to heal my guys like before. I see this being useful if them don't set healing time clock and just allow people to play even if you have a complete lost and all the guys are dead..
Just in the last few hours I lost all ability to play this game with this dumbass change. I lost 6 health pack in 2 match.. and I am totally screwed on the tournament. I spend so much time last few days chasing the ladder.. It won't work no more and I just have to wait a long time between match to just play again and continue.
I thank you very much for this stupid change. I think this change will help me decide not to play this game much.. so I get some of my time back.0 -

Yep. Just tried the highest point node in hopes of climbing back into the rankings. Used the PVE buff to get it done more quickly. All going well, have enough for windstorm...and the enemy cascades like mad, three extra turns, and now I'm waiting for hours before Storm will be back to healthy so I can try again. Horray!0
