  • Isn't it interesting how "good" stuff takes for-freaking-ever (WRU character buffs, goon countdown id, a second server hamster, etc.) but stuff we hate always moves at the speed of light?

Nice to let us know on timing.

Right in the middle of Season 3.
Right in the middle of last day of Heroic event, that is introducing new character.

    FANTASTIC.

I won't argue the timing is iffy, but what healing character were you using in the heroic event?

He could have been prologue healing the allowed characters.

Yep. I was top 50 in my bracket - only because I would heal the whole crew between EACH essential node run. So I would run an essential, and heal at least two of the characters in prologue, and then run the second essential, rinse-repeat. I wasn't bored at all, I took it as part of the game to run essentials often.

Now there is twelve hours until the end of the event. So I could run the three essentials 4-5 times each. x3 essentials = 15 runs. x2 healthpacks after each run = 30 healthpacks needed to keep me in the running for ONE DAY. Sounds quite a bit like I'd have to pay-to-win, doesn't it?

I hope no one ever buys health pack ever again
  • I don't see how my four 2* characters can compete for any 3* covers now.

How long did it take them to add the "re-spec" function to the game? And how long should that have really taken?

    IF

    # of covers = 13

    AND

    # of (Cover to be applied) < 5

    THEN

DISPLAY "Choose a power to reduce"

    IF Y then X = X + 1 and Y = Y-1
    ELSE X = X + 1 and Z = Z - 1

It's not farking rocket science here guys.

As bad as the devs are about listening to the customers before implementing changes, I honestly thought that the level of outrage this caused would at least cause them to think about this a little longer. Obviously they were ready to hit the GO button when the OP was posted. I am pissed but I will stick around and see how bad gameplay will be affected for somebody trying to build a 3* roster, like me. I was actually starting to make real progress too.

Why you just need to have a diverse roster! You have so many other capable 2* heros to choose from ... ohhh nevermind.

Hot dog stand is nerfed aswell! One of most useless environmental was causing so much issue too? icon_e_biggrin.gif

Didn't you hear the harrowing tale of how Juggernaut stopped himself from winning a fight so that he could eat tasty, tasty hotdogs? They were far too appealing in their former state. Now, he'll rightly know that they don't offer any real substance (much like real-life hotdogs), and bypass them instead to give his opponents a sound thrashing.

Well there it is, healing changes are live. Guess this wasn't a discussion at all. What a joke.

More like a discuss amongst yourselves.

Oh, hell, I was in the top 10 just from clearing all the nodes and then periodically playing the essential nodes when I had time and they were full points. I focused on the PVP this morning, but hopefully I can get right back into the running in Heroic. Not at all worried about healing up.
  • This hardly seems like a discussion with the changes live already icon_e_sad.gif
  • The feature just went live (traditionally in the middle of ongoing event) and on trial run works as announced.

I bought health packs twice in 180 days and only at the end of a PVP where I was making a run. I sure as tinykitty am not buying anything now. Tinykitty, I quit buying my biweekly Logan's loonies pack in May because of this kind of tinykitty.
  • Good news, My hour long play sessions will now be greatly reduced. I will have a lot more time to play Skyrim/Pikman 3/shovel Knight/hearthstone.

This hardly seemed like a discussion to begin with considering the Devs, with Ice as their face, couldn't articulate what was involved nor why it was done other than as a perceived money grab.

"Playing with a more diverse group of characters" falls flat on its face considering the sheer number of characters which have severe flaws to be fixed but have been constantly pushed back, such as Modern Hawkeye.

My wife will sure appreciate the additional free time I will have when I am out in town with her. And more time for me to hit the battlefield on PS4.

I see this comment/problem over and over in all the threads about this.

3* folks : no biggie, we never heal.
2* folks : um...we don't have enough characters to play anymore.

I wonder which group pays them more? I'm really not sure. 3* buy HP for covers presumably, but 2* will eventually get to that, and in the meantime they have to pay for character slots.

Steam Summer Sale is on, horray! Haven't hit up Broken Age yet, I'll try that.

Honestly, the only thing that the developers will probably respond to is the app rating taking a hit due to the change. Working for a tech company, bad ratings and reviews on an app are what we pay the most attention to, more than forums or online chatter. Social media is a close second, but this game isn't large enough currently that a social media push would do much. Think about how people for the company were tweeting about the number of times the app has been downloaded, etc.

I don't want to advocate a ratings spam on the app, because I don't really believe that will accomplish much. They will see it as a spam and disregard. But if you feel it's a 1 star game after the healing nerf, you should rate it as such. So much of the marketing that the developer does for this game talks about how the ratings are great, and IGN loves it, and it's in the top downloads list. There's no better way to make your opinion felt than that aspect, since the multi-page thread here hasn't done much. A drop in the rating could mean less people would download the game, and that will hit the developer where it hurts.

I personally want to see how it goes now that the changes are live. But I rate apps how I see them. And if I think it's really **** after this, I will rate it as such. And I encourage everyone else to do the same. If you think it's 5 star after, then rate it as such!
  • Well, you've heard what your player base thinks (WE F**KING HATE THIS!!!!!!!!!) And you've chosen to ignore and proceed with your heinous scheme. Good luck to you, asshats.
