*looks at provided chart* But you do get an XP award for leveling up a championed character.Bryan Lambert said:Of course, if the true intent was to grant XP fo your roster strength, there’d also be an XP award for leveling characters under the new system. Cough cough. But that’s OK.
The big question for me isn’t so much this change, versus how many people abandon clears five and six in PvE, which I was doing mainly for that green check and the 10XP. If enough people do that and it doesn’t affect my sub and final placmenet too much, this could seriously cut back on the grind.
A 4* character will give 25 XP for their first champion level. But in order to champ them in the first place you've got to level them from 70 to 270 with ISO.
You roster a character, you add covers, you level with ISO, you champ, and you champ-level with covers. It's the "Level with ISO" step that isn't giving XP (but theoretically could).
If Shield Training comes around again, and you level a character from 70 to level 209 to be able to use them in Shield Training, you'd get zero XP for that.
If you and I both have all the 4* characters fully covered, but yours are level 70, and mine are all level 265, we would have the exact same XP for them, despite having vastly different rosters, strength-wise.8 -
1. Increase the number of matches needed in PvE
2. Increase the number of matches needed in PvP
3. Increase SHIELD Rank, but remove XP from matches
Well played.

And if done like the original rollout, MILLIONS . . . and MILLIONS . . . and MILLIONS . . . and MILLIONS . . .No kidding! We looked at the numbers, and there will be some players that are awarded millions of Iso-8 that day. MILLIONS!

Hey! This might be the winning method! Green checking nodes in pve and ddq is at least 130xp. I believe rostering and selling a 1* cover is 13 more xp than before. So just need to do that at least 10 times per day!1

Pretty sure I pull more than 10 1* characters on an average day, so this sounds like it would work in my favor!mkmagius said:Hey! This might be the winning method! While the goal of linking SR more closely with roster level is commendable (although that ship has sailed if you're not going to touch existing ranks), this looks like a significant decrease in xp income for active players.
Back of the envelope calculation:
Daily rewards for playing:
DDQ -60xp
PvE -100xp
PvP -40xp
XP changes from champ levels:
2* +3xp if from non-standard token, +6xp from other sources
3* +2xp from non-standard token, +5xp otherwise
4* -5xp from LT, +2xp from other tokens, +5xp from rewards
5* -10 xp
That ain't going to work out me.4 -
Oops my math was wrong. 160 xp from green checking (minimum). So 12.3 1*0
-
But don't forget you're essentially buying those 10xp for 100 iso each. You'll make a small profit, but you'll also devalue your xp more quickly (since the iso:xp ratio gets worse at higher shield ranks)swordfishdata said:

As someone who owns every character in the game (aside from Yelena and 1* Hawkeye) and has maxed out all but two 4*s currently with a bunch of 5*s sat at level 255, I'm not sure this benefits me in the slightest.
I mean, it looks nicer for my 2* farm but I guess I'll have to see if this replaces the ~160CP I'd get daily from PvE and DDQ. I don't think I tend to get sixteen 2*s in a day.

It's closer to 50. You currently get 4xp (+3xp if you got it from a non-standard token)Dragon_Nexus said:I don't think I tend to get sixteen 2*s in a day.0 -
If XP stands for experience points, I'd think it's completely reasonable to get experience for "completing" matches. Playing the game is about making matches.Brigby said:S.H.I.E.L.D. Rank is supposed to be a key indicator as to how strong a player's roster is, however since it currently factors in XP gained from simply completing matches or opening tokens, some players might find themselves prematurely introduced to competition far more challenging than their rosters can handle.
By identifying which game elements improve and strengthen a player's roster, and having just those aspects award XP, it allows the team to design a game experience that's more appropriate to their level.3 -
With five clears of the 5-star essential (currently within my grasp in CL8) it may be closer to 4. I mean, it won’t affect me for a bit because I pulled a 14th 5-Star Strange cover and need every scrap of ISO I can get for the next two weeks, but after that...After that, though, I might be happy to trade a top 50 finish for a top 100 finish and 45 minutes of not playing each day.Starfury said:
Probably not so much the fifth clear (progression), but buh-bye sixth clear for critical boosts.Bryan Lambert said:Of course, if the true intent was to grant XP fo your roster strength, there’d also be an XP award for leveling characters under the new system. Cough cough. But that’s OK.

First, I want to say thanks for increasing the ranks.
Second I want to say that like so many things the developers have done, the intent is great, however the implementation seems lacking insight.4 -
You only got the xp from PvE for completing all 6. Now for many there’s no reason to do this so it just lightened again. I’m probably gonna go from doing 6-7 at as close to optimal as I could to 4-5 whenever it’s convenient for me.STOPTHIS said:1. Increase the number of matches needed in PvE

So I have to roster a 5* every single day to make up the XP I'm losing from DDQ. Awesome.

What are you talking about? The old system was the buy more way. You got xp for simply opening packs... This idea was broken on day one and this was something myself and other suggested it should have worked from day one. Better late than never.Beta-Ray Bill said:Lol so it’s not “play more, farm more” it’s “buy more, open more.” Dude you guys and you’re being money hungry need to take it down a notch. At a glance, I haven't seen the answer to this, but I will assume it's a "no". Will there be a retroactive awarding of XP to those not yet at level 125 for previous champ levels, powers trained, etc from your roster?
Example: If I have a 310 Carol, will I get the extra XP difference between what I did receive for those 40 champ levels, as opposed to what I'd get for applying 40 levels all at once after this change is made?2 -
The new system's just as "buyable" as the old one.broll said:

They just removed the base xp you got for playing each day that inflated everyone's rank to a point where the system needs a reset to ever be a useful measure of roster growth again.0 -
I am happy about not feeling forced to do the 6th clear in PVE any longer for xp.
Psychologically, a steady predictable flow of xp will always feel like more xp than the same amount received sporadically. I’m not certain the new system will feel better than the old one even though the concept is better.
