I thought you were saying you couldn't see them before going into a match. That would really suck. You can see them during the match and inspect them. Oddly enough, the in match display and text are probably the best/easiest to see on mobile.
You can't see them before the match though. You can't click on them to see what they do.
You can see the opponent and which support they have equipped and its level, but you can't click it to see what it does.
So you have to have a web browser open, back out of the team selection and go to your support screen section, or go to the support swap section and hope your toons can equip it.
It's just an annoyance.
OK, precisely outlining the complaint now
... sounds the same as Steam. Yes, in-match you can dig in and find the details. Clunky and awkward, tho.
As for not being able to pull up the details prior to match ... you can't pull up the details of the enemy characters, either ... or at least can't on steam. You can see # of covers in which color, but no farther than that, player has to know what all that means, or find out the hard way. Again, nothing new, just the SOS!

Pretty much the entire top end of the PvP metagame has switched to defensive supports 100% of the time. Generally this is leapfrog + Eros arrow.I'm not sure why so many players tend to favor defense over offense (we saw this with slower teams like sw/Colossus, and also with the immortal bros team), but for whatever reason they do. Both of these can be annoying and sometimes slow you down, but I've mostly learned how to play around them.
One fun offensive combo I've found is fantasticar + Thanos copter, with match damage characters. Things can get crazy pretty fast!
Leapfrog and Arrow are way too strong. They can legit stop you on a bad board.
You don't need great supports to win, but great supports can stop you from losing.
So Leap-Arrow-Hotdog cart or maybe 1 offensive support like Fantasticar, Implanted Bomb, or Omnipotence City.If nobody wants to attack you that is the same as a win on defense, and I have recently seen few to no defenses in PvP because my guess is that people just skip me more often than not.
This. I just joined the Leap Mob. With Frog in tokens I opened Masters until I got mine from 2* to 5* off of shards (I also pulled a 5* Web Shooter and 5* Kamar Taj) while leveling Frog.
I will say I noticed a huge difference running Leap. Typically I roll with Arrow/Car/Omni (or an AP boost if I’m not running godlike- but I’ve been running Jean all month). I typically get beaten down past around 8-900 and just go for wins. This time I swapped out Car for Leap once I hit 800 pts and was only attacked/beaten twice. Was able to hit 1200 easily. Way too small of a sample size but definitely felt the difference.

I find Arrow to be much more effective for my offense and switch to Frog when I'm leaving defense. If you only care about wins just go Veil Krakoa, mandatory char arrow / frog, any damage character and car; you can hit 25 wins with no health packs usually every time.
Everyone talks about frog, but I find car significantly more devastating and it's the only support so far that has also decisively crushed me when attacking it.

Oh, I definitely think there other supports that matter at higher levels. My 5* Baton isn't great on defense but when equipped on the mandatory, Car on SC and Omn on MT, I can get by the 550s who are boosted on turn 0 or 1, depending on if Baton hits or not. I won't leave it on defense, but that team is fast and hits up to the boosted 550s no problem.

The meta has settled as much as I can tell and there are 5 supports or 6 if you have a great Stone.
Fantasticar
Leap
Arrow
Hot Dog Cart
OmniIt seems to me nothing else matters at higher levels.
**edit Add Krakakoa for certain team comps.
Thanos Copter is very strong, it's almost an improved version of Fantasticar, but the hivemind hasn't totally caught on yet. I really like running a hero and villain with Copter and Fantasticar -- you can hit endless cascades.
There are a couple others that are worthwhile, that I use but never see on defense. Hellfire Club is very good, but limited in who can use it. Dead Pool is also strong. Lucky is too.

Thanos-copter can be equipped to villains, which makes it very appealing as an alternative to Fantasticar.

Thanos copter never shuts off, plus it adds your strongest color to the board, and even the airborne thing is set up so it works to your advantage.

That’s helpful.
I have
5* Leap/Arrow/Omni/Red Stone
4* Car/Krakoa
3* Copter/Yellow Stone/ Purple Stone.Any advice on what to level next?

Fantasticar > thanos copter > power stone

I think Krakoa is kind of bad -- I'm surprised folks are using it.
I suppose it could be good if you build an all mutant team, but I haven't seen a week where that was a good option, and you would probably want the feature to be a mutant too. The other thing it's good for is as a free blue AP support, since we don't have any of those.
But otherwise? It's 4AP vs 6AP, and I'm taking 6 every time. Am I missing something with it?

I did the stones first. Reality, power, and currently working on time. Decided to do them first because they are never rotating into the token store or an offer outside of a comm challenge or placing 1st in pvp season. Every other support will either rotate in, be offered for purchase or in a vault. Took my Thanos copter from a 2* to a 4* with the vault just before anny started. Good decision since I haven't spent any hp on vaults during the anny. Anyways, that's my current strategy, dunno if I'm making the right decision or not but it's worked thus far.

Thanoscopter is new, give people time to acquire and build it!
Somehow I already have it up to 5, now dribbling rIso into it.
Shards have pushed so many of my supports I'm constantly out of rIso ... after having little use for it and millions piling up for so long .... !

The 4 on start is guaranteed, on someone like Dark it means you start the match throwing your ability every time. If you also have someone like Coulson, the match starts with even more AP, cascades and damage, basically guaranteeing a safe victory.

Oh no, I'm comparing it to all the other free AP ones.
It's just that it's 100% vs 80% for the 6AP ones? I'm not sure that's worth it.

Totally worth it for Aunt May. Slap Krakoa on 5Emma and bring a +2 R/Y and you are winning on the first turn for almost everything except the FU node.

Edit: haha duh -- Iron May and Aunt May can't be on the same team. PvE is pick-3 though, so you could drag War Machine or somebody along to carry Arc Reactor.

Put Arc Reactor on 5* RiRi. I have R5 Krakoa and didn't even think about Emma so will try that.
I slapped my R3 Leapfrog on Mephisto in his PvP and even at that level it feels a lot like cheating.
Supports remain broken.

I adore everyone that puts leapfrog on the centre character. That's not cheating that's easy feeding.
Eh, I never claimed I had any idea what I am doing. Mephisto was the main constant so it seemed easiest and you can't keep swapping it around that much. My other guys had R5s on. So who should it go then?

So long as the feature is the weak link. Tends to be, but not always. Esp not always in 4* feature pvps. As ascended 3s become more common, there goes 3* features, too.

I still see TONS of 550/550/loaner (or 672/672/loaner!). I really don't get that.
