You, uh, don't have to cast sacrifice right away. It was always safer to wait until the countdowns were 1 to cast it if you weren't using intimate anyway. and probably even then too

You didn't understand me (maybe I didn't explain my reasoning that well icon_razz.gif ), I said that you needed 4 turns to justify the use of Sacrifice when you are NOT using WR. Before I could use Sacrifice as a very good weapon even when I didn't have APs to cast WR, in just 2 turns, damage done with the strike tile created was enough to justify the 1300 damage Sentry received. It was a very good power on its own. Now you need 4 turns of match damage to justify the 1700 damage Sentry gets, and chances are the tile is not going to stay that long, so it is a very bad power (if you receive more damage than what you can do, then is is very bad).

Sacrifice can only be used now together with WR, you will always have to wait until you cast WR, and wait until countdowns arrive to 1 before triggering it. And now that WR is a 12 power with clock tiles set at 3 turns, it is A LOT of time you have to wait until you can cast Sacrifice (if you play against Hood for example chances are that maybe you won't have the yellow AP ready when you have everything else).
  • What a bunch of **** **** D3. Uninstalling.
  • Hey guys
i used the new SenHood after they get nerfed. Im a f2p player and i dont spent no stop hp for the +3 ap boost.
    so all i used before was 3+ yellow/red and +3 green/black.
so i have 6 of all.
missing 6 green 2 yellow and 3 black.
And i really think that SenHood is broke and we wont see them a lot anymore.
    sentry is just "weak"
all said that its just 1 more turn you have to take but thats not all imo.
Since the 3 round CD tiles and all the matches till they activate its quiete impossible to take all enemies or the most with 1 hit.
his strike tile decreased and like its very difficult to shield hop with these 2 guys.
very sad about this cause i maxed them both last season and was glad to shield hop now and get more rewards.
and now i cant shield hop anymore like before.
thats not all. Since the time endings you can pick the score are questionable.
Most the timw you just find fights 12 to max 25 points.
You have to skip for 1K iso to find 1 fight worth 40+
So everbody is screwed who has no XF maxed out.
Transitioning players have no time to get into 3* land.
all the new chars the nerfs and so on.
We all knew they would get a nerf. No we all knew that SENTRY will get one. That they nerfed hood too is redicolous.
he has no health and was just in the back and they nerf him?!
    sick...
and bad they really nerf ALL of his skills?!
i mean it would be enough to make WR higher cost sure. But fix SN AND SACRIFICE??!!?!?
he wasnt a team player, team damage everwhere and u nerf him lile this?
He was already a healthpack drainer and now even more.
man d3 you really make him unplayable right now.
Imo hes just good if you are a p2w player.
and pls DONT nerf chars during a pve or pvp.
Especially NOT if the last pve round is against hood.

Tested my 5/5/3 Sentry this morning. Getting the 12/8 with boost isn't terrible, but it's slowed him to 2-3 minutes, like everyone else, and that gives the AI some time to counter.

It's different, but he's still plenty usable. I sent him with LDaken instead of Hood, just for the extra oompf.

... Not really. Just don't use the power when you can easily match yellow, and look for cascades so that you can multiply the benefits. It'll usually be worth it in an average of 2 turns. Or you could use attack tiles.

Just tested new Hood in lightning rounds. He's not terrible.

I've levelled Sentry up to 102 from 95. When he gets featured again, I'll put more iso in him. icon_e_smile.gif

I may regret tossing this out, but if Sentry's WR is now 3 turns instead of 2, you can, as previously suggested, use Intimidate. But you can also add to that by doing what I did and use stun TU on enemy team. Gets you at least 1 extra turn. Intimidate plus stun TU = 1 turn count down icon_e_biggrin.gif .

edit,.... gets 1 extra turn if it is a TU that stuns entire enemy team
  • Huge meta change after some people already finished the event and others hadn't? [EXPLETIVE REDACTED] d3p and you've been doing so well recently

Here's what I found so far in regards to Sentry and Sentry bombing.

    1. It is very hard to Sentry bomb any team running Hood. Because you are already starting with boosts and it takes longer to set up the combo it will just slow you up to the point of taking a lot more damage.

    2. It is very, very hard to World Rupture for the win without Hood using Intimidation. I tried with Black Panther and 2 CD on WR is doable, you just need a back up in case you can't wipe the board, but 3CD without Hood using Intimidation really puts you up at risk for doing a lot of damage to yourself with no reward.

    3. It's going to take you on average 3-4 more turns to set up the combo, again as long as they aren't running Hood.

Did they over nerf Sentry? I think they did, I think they either needed to go 12 AP or 3CD tiles, not both. I'm seriously thinking about switching Sentry to 5/3/5
  • I have a She-Hulk in my rewards. 3d remaining. I have 225 HP. Sentry pays 375 HP at level 76. My next slot costs 600 HP. Am I going to sell my Sentry? No. Hood is already at the point of no return and his important skill has not been touched anyway. I might sell my 5/5 level 1 Chawkeye though.

So basically those Black Widow Team-Ups everybody's been passing around at the top end? icon_lol.gif

For my fully leveled Sentry I am offered 86000 ISO and 1500 HP right now.
  • Sentry is useless to me now. I hardly ever use him anymore and hardly ever see him to fight anymore so he is becoming irrelevant. There is no need to use him if you have a usable xforce.

Sentry/Hood bombing is far from dead. Does it work as well? No. Do Hood and Sentry take more dmg? Yes Is it still 100% viable and still probably the fastest way to take teams down? Yes

I have tried and tried and succeeded, and succeeded with 3/5/5 Sentry and 3/5/5 Hood. Boost black, green, yellow to +6AP, get one yellow, and one black match and two green and it's game over. Yes, there are times where you can't take the whole team down, but they are usually a single match 3 away from death with the Sacrifice tile out. Where it does lack is it absolutely sucks against another team with the Hood, if they are Hoodless, then this will destroy the very popular X-Force/Nick Fury/featured
  • I used it in the PVE on certain nodes - I put Hulk up in front to tank green and had Sentry grab enough yellow for the sacrifice tile. I think Sentry is still going to be usable, and still dangerous, but more of an emergency weapon than he used to be.

Should we clear the poll results and start fresh? Or is 3/5/5 still considered the best build by pretty much everyone?
