Made it to 926 pts last nite for the HP, so I'm done for this tourney! Whack away ppl!

i've got Nazerith (sp?) from The X-Men in my bracket, so I think the 1st place IW would be his anyway, and my Hood is fully covered so I'm all done for this Tourney.

    Good Luck ppl!

If I have to climb later to stay top 10 or 25 I'll be skipping forumites & Retals so have a whack while my pts are still 787 so that you can get a good chunk while the gettin' is good! ( I'm not shielding to save HP for ClawKid Classic cover upgrades! )
  • I'm shielded for the duration as well. Feel free to attack me if I come up.

Sharding is so weird - just checked my leaderboard and see Reckless up there with 1200+. So I think to myself, well great, that's one spot lower I can expect to place in my season 3 bracket, yet when I go check it she's not there. I guess she got sharded off into a different seasons bracket than mine. Not that I'm complaining, but with 5000 people seasons brackets and 500 person PvPs, I didn't think it was possible to get sharded together for one, but apart for another (outside of seasons filling up somehow, but my seasons bracket only had like 4300 when I joined, so not sure how that could have happened)

I entered SHIELD sim a few hours before Unholy Outlaw, which is a more likely explanation for why we are in different season brackets than sharding.

    You've been sharded on.

However, if you were neglected and were not sharded on, please contact a CS representative to be sharded on immediately.

This has been a public service message from the Sharding Association of MPQ.

Seems I've forgotten about the shield sim also joining season brackets. My bad, carry on, nothing to see here.

I don't think I've ever picked up this many defensive wins before - it's nice starting the app to find you've been hit at least half a dozen times and actually gained points icon_lol.gif

Testament to the power of The Hood with 5 blue covers, especially with boosted HP so he takes longer to kill. Sometimes the board setup is just tailor made for The Hood to keep the player from being able to build enough HP to use abilities before he's sucked away enough AP for his teammates to layeth the smacketh down, at least when playing someone without such a well-covered Hood. This is the bit where I cry that my Hood is 4/1/4.

That's the bit that really surprises me - mine's only 2/2/2 and I'd say I'm winning somewhere close to 30-40% of the attempted attacks.

Of course, Punisher and OBW are probably doing their part too icon_e_biggrin.gif

I don't know what I did to my MMR, but I just made a run from 600 to 900 points fighting almost all 2* teams or low-leveled 3* teams. If a max 141 team did show up, I hit skip and oh, there's an Ares-OBW-Hood team. I also didn't get hit until right after I shielded. I have probably used up all my good MPQ karma for the next few PvPs. icon_e_smile.gif

Good, I saw you at 890 and tried to wait a few minutes before I hit you.

It happens regularly no matter how bad/good your MMR is; at 600-700 points (it depends) you are ushered into a much wider circle of opponents, including the majority of the playerbase with 85 rosters.
  • I think it's intended to help people escape MMR hell.

Yeah, I was cycling through the same people I already hit once and started paying the tax but thankfully found some good fresh targets, hit 600, and as if by magic, more new opponents, including 85s.
  • **** hood + obw **** me hard
  • I am not looking forward to this tomorrow. See more known entities than I have been recently accustomed to and that is not good. Know just showed up as well, I bet there is more.

I figure if I shield in PvE though I will easily take this bracket so out of the way WYP.

My selection seems to widen out a lot above 600 no matter my MMR, and then shrink to mostly 141s above 900 no matter my MMR, it's an interesting dynamic

    Thanks for waiting, Toxicadam.

I have seen this happen before where suddenly a bunch of 2* teams appear after crossing a certain threshold, but the last few PvP events I haven't (and I really would have appreciated a string of 2* teams in the lazyThor tourney). Maybe it has nothing to do with MMR, maybe it's just timing or something (I did make my push a little earlier this PvP).

In Shield Training last season I encountered something similar above... might have been 1700? Suddenly went from being able to cycle only through teams featuring the likes of max Patch, Hood, Mags, L.Thor etc to suddenly getting teams worth over 30 which had OBW, Ares, etc. Certainly helped me get above 2000 in a hurry on the last day of the season.
