New Character - Namor (Phoenix Five) 5*

For those saying Agatha, Mephisto and namor.... Why? I don't see much synergy with them especially compared to MThor, Namor and Emma\Shang

Am I missing something?

People are saying that as a trio they are good to open a hoard of tokens on, not necessarily that all three have synergy with one another.

Just checked in my alliance and yeah it's Namor only as rewards once 4 Namor is ascended so exactly as you outlined

They run pretty awesome together.
Tons of board destruction and board manipulation.
Namor will blows up Agatha's purple tiles doing crazy damage. Plenty of chance for cascades and Agatha increases the match damage.
Hellfire fills the board quickly.
You can start the board destruction with red, blue, or green.

I've been using them this PvE and it is a bunch of fun.

What the heck? This is a first, right? Ascended chars explicitly are not supposed to have targeted rewards, correct?

Edit to add: and for it to be 7 covers for the latest 5? That just feels like a sick joke for those of us who never chased Namor because he sucked (7+ year player here, my Namor is only at 339).

No, this is the standard method to give retro awards out for feeders. The first week this rewards structure will exist so that anyone who has ascended the new feeder still will get their retro pay. After 7 days this reward list will change back to the standard without any targeted rewards.

The folks saying that most likely have those other characters maxed out already.

I'm not sure if this is a good trio to go all in if you've got absolutely nothing else (which, again, is the vast majority of players) -- these guys are really good because they're very strong with the guys that veterans are already using.

I was going all in on with Nova but will now wait until he cycles out and go all in with this new three. Even if the next one is Meta I can then overpull but I like Agatha so won't let her cycle out and miss her. I certainly don't have a many 525 and up but I have enough to get my goals for pvp and pve/boos events are now so easy I could play them with my feet and a random 4* generator, let alone with my 5*.

In fact I propose a random team selector option for 1.5 times the points

I didn't chase him either because he sucked. But a while ago there were Q&A responses about finishing the P5 so about 6 months ago, when I had nothing else I wanted to chase, I put about 50 levels into him to max him and get his dupe to 271 for when this day arrived.

@bluewolf - may be stating the obvious but you may want to put the extra 4 covers on him for the cover at 280 and the 700 shards at 282, and you can champ P5 Namor.

I like Nova a lot. Got him up to 490. I'm either gonna keep pulling now with Nova or stop until he rotates out. Waiting to see more of how Namor plays than my current 1/1/1 version can show me. And like you my real goal is more levels on Agatha while she's still in latest. She's at 475 now, wanna get her to at least 500.

I managed to get 2 of the 3 do his abilities 20 times done for a cover. I did his Black and Green. Polaris and BRB for his green is insane I never cleared one so fast

Trust me, I’m going for as many as I can get before the ascended feeder rewards go away. My dupe up to 276…8 covers so far. Should be good for champ especially if I buy the costume coming later today.

Still no communication from the devs on the fix for Namora secondary feeder shards for 5* Namor? It's not like there's a PvP using him any time soon.

I too would very much like those missing shards so I can use him in the PVP.

I love Namor and was excited to complete the Phoenix 5 team but seriously, why does Jane and/or shang have to have the most synergy with him? I am so bored of the same characters slotting into every team.... I wanted to run Namor, Emma and one of the other Phoenix 5 yet literally none of them synergise

But pretty accurate though, in the comics they were always bickering like a bunch of mean girls. That's what led to their downfall. And wasn't Namor always an arrogant prick and picking fights with everyone.

Anyway, I'm sure a team with Colossus will do very well and still a good counter to Mthor Shang Chi. And Emma gets along with everyone.

The devs are really awful at designing synergy like that.
I do think they try -- it just sorta never works out the way they want. Plus, aside from Colossus, the rest of the P5 are kind of middling.

On the other hand, m'Thor and Shang-Chi have really good synergy with almost everyone, because they're really good in general, and also don't get in the way.

So I doubt they did any of this on purpose.
