New Character - Namor (Phoenix Five) 5*

What constitutes a cascade? Suppose you make a match 5 that results in no other matches. Then you use the crit tile for a match, is that a cascade?
Or
Does someone like 2* iron patriot purple ability where it destroys 16 tiles then adds crit tiles. Do the crit tiles matches count as a cascade? If that's the case then 5namor 4may and 4ip with purple supports should be very quick in PvE.
There are alot of fun options available with namor.

Matches counted towards the “destroy N tiles” quests historically I believe.

Remember you have to destroy tiles not match them in cascades.Half Thor will be great too since he can feed the red as part of his destruction.
KGB
I thought matching tiles counted as a way to destroy them.
Does it?
We all know wording is funny in their descriptions. But given his other 2 powers specifically rely on or destroy tiles as part of their effects I would imagine the destroy (passive part of the Black) means via powers and not match damage.
Otherwise the wording could be simplified to be tiles removed which is the sum of matched + destroyed and would make that Black power very OP since there is no cap.
KGB
5★ Agatha's purple only does damage when the repeater is "destroyed." In practice, this is not when it is matched, but when it is destroyed by a power or because it's in a line with a match-4 or match-5.
I can't imagine Namor is any different, so it won't build with matching. OTOH, Namor himself destroys tiles with his other two powers, so even if you don't pair him with tile destruction or a cascade-maker, he'll still destroy some tiles.
My read - by himself he'll be okay, but he'll really shine with the right partners.

What constitutes a cascade?A cascade is when the move you make in that one turn causes a second match. Suppose you have something like this:
xxbcx
xxxbb
axxcx
xaacxYou have multiple options here. You could simply do a vertical swap with b and c tiles to clear just the c tiles, but that only gives you one match. If you do a vertical swap between the b and x tiles, you will clear the b tiles first, followed by the c tiles since the b's were cleared a moment ago. Skilled players will have already caught the trio of a tiles at the bottom and make a vertical swap there; logic being that the clearing of a's will bring down the b's by one level, allowing for the c's to pass through.
Namor's Burning Depths boosts all cascade match damages by 25% per match made. Using the map above, if you make only a c match, you get no bonus. Do a b match instead to make the c's fall in line, then you get the cascade match bonus. As the definition of a cascade applies to all matches made in a single turn, every match made after the first clear will get the boost. Keep in mind that damage scaling is still in effect so even though you will notice a reduction in damage over time, the cascade match bonus softens said reduction by at least two to three matches, depending on the strength of tile and/or characters you have on your team.
One of the features I requested for in a recent survey was making use of the deprecated Heroic Effort feature. This cascade match bonus feature is a good start, making 5-star Namor the first of its kind.

looks like I called it. 4 Star Namor is the main feeder for this one

It doesn't look like Namora got updated as a secondary feeder. Is there going to be an update coming that corrects that issue?

Next step is not even show the feeder chart. Just write, "look in-game" on subsequent new character post

Emperor's Wrath has no cap? Then he has the potential to crush any character in a single hit with the well known Polaris BRB everyone's favorite combo
I'm honestly surprised devs didn't see this one coming... I mean the Polaris + BRB + green power tile destroyer combo has been around since, how many years now?

I just champed my 4 Star Namor just in case he is a feeder/secondary feeder for the 5 star NamorNamor already feeds Odin, but so does Angela now. Thematically, Namora could feed 5★ Namor but she already feeds Okoye, so either way they'd be changing a feeder.
In general, they've gone with themselves - at this point I don't think there's a single 4★ that doesn't feed at least one of its 5★ versions.
I thought Okoye was fed by Shuri? Lmao
Shuri & Okoye are both Wakandans, so it makes sense for the former to feed the latter. Angela feeds Odin. 5* Namor obviously has to have 4* Namor as feeder. Or at least main feeder.

didn't get any champion rewards for 5 Star Namor guessing that's cause my 4 star Namor hasn't gotten past 280

For those pulling for Agatha, do you think Namor is better than Nova?

Nova does annoying **** and is pretty good boosted.
Even without being champed Namor is a lot more fun.1 -

Agatha, Mephisto namor best trio of the year.

I have had good success with Nova when he is boosted in both PvE and PvP. He's not trash, but he isn't consistent.

I think I am doing my first 550 break with Agatha, Mephisto, and Namor. Everything I have read indicates they are pretty decent…and also fun….for whatever that is worth.

Namora just became a secondary feeder for 5* Namor, but I didn’t get any retro rewards. Did anyone get anything?

Not yet....
Edit: There was an update sitting in the play store but that didn't fix it either.
