But...it is subjective so it is irrelevant what your standard is when we are on a large platform like this! There is no right answer as long as we are not talking about active fraud.

Of course, it was just meant to be tongue in cheek ;)

In that case I relevantly like your answer!

You can't put a price on enjoyment because it is subjective.

You can absolutely put a price on what you subjectively enjoy, and I have no problem with it.

But we have someone in here slapping price tags on other people’s joy, which is what I think a lot of people are reacting to and questioning.

"Oh no your canister is about to expire are you sure you want to let all that juicy iso go to waste? Better cough up the $" How people choose this over "pay X amount of $ to get Y amount of ISO" is beyond me.

The point is you have a choice. It’s not an “either/or”. So you can buy your iso in the traditional way and not have to worry about bricking your phone or anything like that. That option exists for you.

The game's ultimate owners, Digital Bros, have said their plan for 2024 is to leverage existing games for more revenue by offering....more value, etc etc. As they assess the current environment as one that is hard to launch new games into. Also, they had a pretty terrible 2023 financially.

Anyone interested can google their financials, they are a public company.

So this whole thing is just another push in that area.

The game is designed to basically have infinite expansion opportunities. Ascension was a major, major move in that direction as now every character (especially, newly, below the 5 tier) is assessed based on "what if I collected hundreds of covers for them?". A literal impossibility without major spending, but they certainly aren't shy about offering sometimes dozens of them very quickly. Depending on your assessment of/desire for a character, your perceived need for covers is far greater than ever. Case in point: May at one point would have needed 113 covers before you had her maxed for whatever use you could make, now you need 126 to max/min, 226 to max/max her into a 4 and really bump her boost.

Even the newest 5. Unimaginable before, a bundle chain with 4 1/2 covers total equivalent is up on day 4 of being in game for $80. Not a small amount for most folks, but still far far cheaper than the old days where only a whale or hoarder could collect covers from in game resources (HP or CP).

This follows the iDoom bundle (which to be fair, they've had chain offers for new 3s and 4s for a while now) with a costume locked in the $40 tier (requiring $80 all in).

So they are apparently going to ramp up opportunities to spend to overcome choke points, or acquire cool stuff, and be less subtle about tying it to new content. The lower price points are very interesting from a "devaluing the content in relation to cash needed to acquire it" perspective.

Looking forward to seeing the actual prices for these iso things.

Think I missed this one. Which one gave 4.5 covers to a 5? If you mean the one with the 3 bundle chain, that does not give 4.5 covers of the 5*. But there might be another one that I missed.

If that's your metric there can't be many forms of entertainment you are able to enjoy these days. Any sporting event (attending or playing like say a round of golf), movie, theater, bowling etc is way outside your price range. Even cable TV is going to be close given here in America it's typically 100 a month and you need to watch a minimum of 3.3 hrs a day to get your money worth (you can cord cut but if you buy Netflix etc those cost too and require a fair number of hours to break even when you factor in internet costs).

    KGB

I don't watch tv, I don't go to or watch movies, and I don't go to concerts. All the music I listen to is from the 70s-90s that I have on cd and ripped to usb drives. So no netflix, cable, bowling, theaters, or all the rest.

I am in the gym every day, I play guitar every day, play some video games (besides MPQ), and spend time with my wife and dogs. That is aside from the 70 hours a week I put into my business.
I literally don't have time for the things you listed.

Bet the gym costs more than a dollar an hour. GOTEM

Right now there’s a Jubix chain.

    Tier 1: 1 cover
    Tier 2: 1 cover plus 250 shards
    Tier 3: 1000 shards

    4 1/2 covers

Actually a gym membership typically costs $1 a day (30 month) here in the US.

Home equipment, especially good stuff costs a thousand dollars or more an item (ie 1K+ for an Elliptical and so on) so it takes a lot of use to get it down to 1 / hr (1000 hrs is approximately 3 years at 1 hr a day on just 1 piece of equipment).

Don't want to take this too far OT. You are on the money. Most gym memberships are about $1 a day not including the initial sign up fees. So if you work out daily its a buck an hour.
I have a treadmill and free weights. I put my gym in 10 years ago though, so I am way below that value point by now.

I wanna talk more about a gym. I'm paying $20 a week in Australia and that's considered very cheap.

I too want to talk about Jims! Are we talking only Marvel Jims?

    What about underground Jims?

    Do Jimmys count too?

Does anyone know when this goes live? I am saving my tokens etc. to use when it has the chance to be double or "canistered". Heh, canisturd.

Price wise it seems reasonable - wonder if we'll get them for playing

Those canisters make the price for ISO in the shop (even more) ridiculous. Right now there's a canister with 115k ISO for €3.99 while 75k ISO in the shop is €41.99.

Yay, another micrtransaction. If this is the best you can do, maybe it's time to scrap the idea and start listening to the players.

Seriously...we ask you to review how cost of heroes has gone up versus how rewards have stayed the same since the beginning. Instead, you say pay us more for a pitiful haul of iso.

I know this sounds like crazy talk, but what if instead of spending all that time writing code and creating artwork for Multipliers & Canisters, the devs just... lowered the prices in the existing store until players found them attractive and began buying them?

Yeah they increased the price of the bottom line deal. :|

Did we really expect the pricing of this to be any different?
